I don't think a woman in a hijab deserves more respect than a woman in a mini skirt since the thoughts and intentions inside a person count most in my opinion. :)

not quite a symbol of islam. the hijab predates islam. during the time of jesus even, the veil or hijab was there. its the media that stereotypes things with a particular ppl. in this case, the muslim woman and the veil. what about nuns. isn't that a veil.

i do agree that what lies inside the heart count much more than a person themselg. but a woman who goes around in a short skirt (showing a lot of leg)....or a tight tight blouse (accentuating the breast n ****) isn't just doing it cause she is comfortably in it. maybe she wants a little extra attention. thats not always the case but in general thats what i understand and similarly if a women wears a veil doesnt mean she is all chaste and all but it just gives me the image that she is more than **** n ass. and thats what i respect. not the body but the brain n heart.
