And oh, yeah - Idi Amin when he walked into a computer shop in Jeddah.

Bono - I was standing next to him at the urinals at Goodbar (club in Sydney) back in the mid 90s when U2 toured OZ, said g'day and all that
Keifer Sutherland - saw him getting kicked out of QBar in Sydney for making a scene (he was filming Dark City I think)
Keanu Reeves - saw him out clubbing a few times in Sydney when he was filming Matrix
Claire Danes - said hi to her a few times in the hallway of the apartment complex that my sister's American friends were living in at Bondi in early 2001 or 2002 (she had an apartment opposite theirs)
Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers and Sacha Baron Cohen's squeeze) - actually hung out with her at a club called Kinselas waay before she was famous, she was just a soapie star in OZ at the time (late 90s) - she's actually good friends with a friend of mine
Maurice Greene - crashed his Olympic after-party at Establishment in Sydney in 2000 and got to shake his hand (as my ex-girlfriend worked for Justin Hemmes, the owner of Establishment)
Portia De Rossi, Joel Edgerton and Dennis Hopper in 2002, when they filmed a tiny bit of the film The Night They Called It A Day in our apartment at McMahons Point in Sydney. I didn't actually get to meet Dennis Hopper but I did get to shake Portia de Rossi and Joel Edgerton's hands.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman sat at a table next to us at dinner at Hotel CBD in Sydney back in the late 90s.
Wendell Sailor - OZ rugby league/union player, I met him when I was at a club in Sydney a couple of years ago
Steve Waugh - met him at a booksigning in Sydney in 2005
Waqar Younis - used to play for North Sydney district club with a mate of mine


Funnily enough since I've moved to Boston I haven't met a single celeb. I worked in LA for two months over the summer and didn't see or meet a single celeb there either!

Apart from various cricket players I havent seen/met that many famous people

Met one of the Vital Signs members at a wedding - forgot his name but he was one with light hair and a beard.

Saw Indian singer Sukhbir in Dubai. Funny thing was that my friend who recognised him was Arab and none of us desis realised it was him until he then.

Seen Anthony Mundine (former rugby league player and current boxer) a couple of times in Randwick (a Sydney suburb). Met Hazem el Mazri (another rugby league player) at a Subways once. We had just watched a game and went to Subway afterwards and he walked in. Another League player I've seen is Willie Mason at Maroubra Beach.

Also met Farooq Leghari at Jumaa namaz in Bahrain once.

I knew Osama's nephew and needless to say I didnt think very highly of him

I think he was on a goodwill visit to Pak - in those days we used to have a lot of visits by American Celebs to the US consulate in Karachi.

A couple of years back I met Imam-e-Khaba. He came to Hong Kong and we went to welcome him at the Airport. Shook hands with the great man. Really Really Unforgetable moments in my life. And also met Afridi got a bat signed by him.

Jhangir Khan, Imran Khan, Sheikh Rasheed, former information minister (with no real information at all), on Abu Dhabi airport (he looked like a lost cow), But the one who really swept my feet off the ground was Ahmed Deedat (Muslim scholor) about 20 years ago and I shaked his hands and talked to him very closely, he had some thing great about him that really really impressed every one. Seen many actors Indians and Pakis at my friends parties but I was never interested in meeting them.........
