The next big thing expected in a couple of months are 'Same Sex Divorces' - as their 2 year sepeartion periods are coming to an end!!!

The legal profession in the UK has been waiting in anticipation!

It is what it is, nothing you can really do about it now.

I will applaud the Harper government for trying, but it was a long shot from the get go.

As for the animal marriages you alluded to in your blog, it's not really credible because animal rights are seperate from human rights. In animals, it is impossible to account for consent, so the issue of animal marriage won't really go further.

In terms of the direct family marriages, the issue is that while the Liberals want to seperate the state from the church, they are themselves practising Christians, Catholics, etc. and they have enough of a religious foundation to dismiss such acts yet.

You have to understand that the concept of "rights" has led to this pediciment, but such a perdicimint, while producing negative things, will also lead to positive outcomes in the future. Take the good with the bad in this case, IMO.

what hes assuming you know is the fact that same sex marriages became legal but the new government promised to bring up the issue again as one of their campaign promises....perhaps to overturn the previous desicion......but even bringing it up for discussion was rejected meaning same sex marriages are here to stay for awhile

Please explain to me how gay couples are feeling relieved by this ? Weren't the lesbian/bisexual groups pushing their agenda to their constituent leaders the government in the first place ?

i saw the report on cbc regarding this issue...this should answer your question:

Laurie Arron, national co-ordinator for Canadians for Equal Marriage, said the victory is bittersweet.

He said he's pleased the vote was defeated, and by such a large margin, but it's unfortunate the issue came up at all. He said he and others already fought hard to have same-sex marriages legalized in Canada in 2005.

"I'm relieved that we're not going to have to fight this battle again," he told CBC News Online. "This issue's been debated to death. I'm glad today it's finally laid to rest."

Same-sex marriage became legal in Canada last year when the Liberal government passed Bill C-38 in response to a series of court rulings that said gays had the right to marry.

I honestly don't have a problem with same sex couples, as long as they don't bother me, it's all good. They used to disgust me though. Sometimes I do wonder that maybe its because I've been brought up that way?
Couldn't that be used as a counter-argument?

Anyway, MastySpot-Guy (<Cudnt write the guy's name here) made a huge and very valid point..

If the government keeps approving of these issues, then later on if people want to marry their pets, or marry someone within their direct family. Will they keep on giving them the right to do that? It will only get worse, not better for mankind, this is just destroying mankind and exploiting the society.

I do agree that making such things legal and right is a wrong thing, it's like playing with mother nature - it will certainly affect OUR off-springs.
