I don't have words. Yes, we know it happens and we ignore such news in the papers but whenever we read a bit, we ask for more and then the end result is anger! I am mad at the moment on everything and everyone. May God give us some direction. Amen

What's Musharraf's economy got to do with this? Oh I see, it never happened during our so-called democracies!

Sad thing btw and very disturbing. Another sad instance of the low level of justice in our society.

Musharraf's government can provide the country with a million fruits of economic revival and development. They can build roads, they can raise the KSE into the thousands, they can increase FDI by a hundred times over..they can do a gazillion things.

But until and unless our people change themselves from within, it doesn't matter who our leader is, we will always face these kinds of stories and the zillat associated with them. We cannot blame our President of our leaders for these things. We, the people, we need to change from within and no leader on earth can change a people's thinking unless they themselves have the willingness to change.

Its similar to how we always criticise the West for being so disobedient to God and many people even say how the 'zawaal' of the West is near. They fail to see that even though the West isn't Muslim, there are many more 'zulm' going on in our naitons as compared to the western ones. They mihgt not be muslim, but they are honest, they might not be muslim, but they don't run after and drool over harm money as we do, they might not be muslim, but they give a 'mazloom' his rights, they might not be muslim, but they understand and value ethics and morals far better than we do.

Similarly, we on the inside are the worst type of people, but outwardly we blame our President for our own state. We are all accuontable to God for OUR OWN actions, we can't say to Allah "voh president musharraf nay sub kharab kardiya, meri koi ghalti nahin hai"..

It just wont work.

I have always believed that the West is more Islamic than the so-called Islamic world. Any place with no justice and regard for human rights can not be Islamic. Islam is as much haqooq ul ibaad (justice, compassion) as haqooq Allah (tauheed).

Cases like the above show how far from the true spirit of Islam we, the so-called Muslims, actually are. Then we wonder why we are not blessed like other nations are!

Koi hai jo mujhe "Translation" dilaye?

From what I can make out, the old guy in question ius still waiting for the killers of his daughter to be brought to justice.

She was 22, and her husband and Mother in law set her on fire - she fought for life for 11 days, even managing to give a full statement about who did this to her, before passing away. This was in Dec 2004

Now her father and mother await justice - in the meantime, her mother has become seriously ill, and cant understand why her daughters killers are still free.

Thats my ltd understanding Salman

well you get the leaders you deserve...our society is ill equipped to deal with such things...but the president should have looked to strengthen individual justice to help people..just saying oh its all the ghareeb persons fault is wrong..the ghareeb only has Allah swt..the ameer has the power!!...what has mushy done for low level justice? nothing...and his successors wont either...we need a full social revolution...new laws, new judiciary get rid of these brown sahib elites and then maybe some ghareeb with get justice..but it wont happen..we will see more skyscrapers and fake american accents and these elites looking down on the common man as some paindoo jahil..."racking yaar""(use burger accent..lol)

Thanks Oxy, sad indeed, i saw a documentry about Pakistani courts on channel 4 a few years back, It was shocking how incompetent everyone was... something drastic needs to be done to bring the penal system into reform... The army should just take over the courts too...

It's amazing how millions of Muslims can take to the streets over a few drawings but are totally silent over atrocities like these!

Where's the MMA now?

Unfortunately thats the problem with so called muslim leaders these days, they will only condemn what they feel like.

There is no such thing as Human Rights in Pakistan. Only those who have a fat wallet and a network of influential contacts can 'manipulate' the system. The less said about the Pakistani court of law, the better.

I am even more ashamed that I have done nothing to help make the situation better. Can Pakistanis living abroad create a pressure group to force change in our country?
