Newcastle will keep Dyer & Bowyer

Newcastle have confirmed Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer will both stay at the club despite fighting each other during the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
But Bowyer has been fined the maximum six weeks' wages by the Magpies, thought to be around £200,000.
The pair were sent off for brawling but shook hands after training on Monday and boss Graeme Souness revealed they have contested Dyer's dismissal.
Souness said: "They've spoken over the weekend and have had a laugh about it."
He added on the club's official website: "They appreciate the seriousness of the incident, but they were laughing because they get on very well together.
"There has been an implication they have been at loggerheads for a long time, but this is completely without foundation."
A Newcastle statement read: "Lee Bowyer has been handed an unprecedented fine, severely censured and additionally warned as to his future conduct.
"The decision to fine and censure Bowyer was taken after chairman Freddy Shepherd and Graeme Souness interviewed both players at the club's training ground on Monday.
"The fine, amounting to six weeks wages, is the highest fine handed out by the club."
Dyer and Bowyer already both face a three-match ban for violent conduct but could also be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.
The Football Association will study referee Barry Knight's report before making a decision over any possible charges on Tuesday.

Shocking decision to keep Bowyer. The fact that NUFC has fined him a a 1/4 million pounds and done nothing to Dyer says it all.

Bowyer has form. If you were out with your family one night and came across Bowyer, get prepared to be racially abused, and possibly beaten up ...for being Asian!

On the picture of them shaking hands you can tell Dyer doesn't look happy.

Would you feel happy shaking hands with a white supremicist?

Don't go OTT. I know Bowyer has known to be racist but aren't you being a bit over the top.

he is not going OTT
everything oxy has said about Bowyer is spot on

The only reason BR signed him was cos we had no money and he was available on a freebie! if Bobby had money then i doubt he would have signed him

when bowyer was at charlton he attacked a pakistani in food place he was cautioned back then

RH. Nothing OTT about what I am saying.

I am just saying what ever is in the public domain.

Lee Bowyer, Alan Smith, Jonathon Woodgate and Craig Bellamy have ALL been to court for RACIALLY AGGRAVATED ASSAULT.

Bellamy got off the racial charges and pleaded guilty to assaulting a black woman!!!

They may be pro-footballers and fabulously wealthy, but bottom line is that they are racist scum. And you cannot change that.

newcastle might even me buying smith whats this with newcastle and racist players!

Oxy
4th April 2005, 21:25
...but ultimately football clubs are in the 'win' business so if aplyer isd good-they will buy him, irrespective if they are racist or not.

Football is a business...run by businessmen...with no credence to morals or ethics.

My mistake-Alan Smith should NOT have been in my list.

The 3rd player was Michael Duberrry (black) who was with the group when they attacked the Pakistani guy. He then gave evidence AGAINST Bowyer and Woodgate...and surprise surprise, left Leeds!

I'm sure a while ago now, I heard that Bellamy assaulted an Asian youth.

Well I guess we know what we would all do if we saw any of these guys on the streets.

bowyer hall of shame:

Racist abuse to a pakistani/asian in MacD's in Shoreditch, East London.

Took Cocaine at Charlton whilst a england youth , suspended from club.

Involved in the Safraz Nawaz affair/beating up...cleared of linvolvement in beating.

Fails to back the kick racism out of football campaign whilst at West Ham after asked by the media.

I have never wanted him at the club! i admit he has played well BUT i cudnt care about that, i dont want no racist tw@t playing for us!

according to The Sun Bowyer will be sold in the summer, i really hope they are right!
There has not been any transfer links with us lately, the past few days have been overshadowed by the Bowyer/Dyer situation!

and u like him as playa? i think hes ur future! rated him since ipswitch, i wanted united to get him!u guys r lucky let me tell ya fo sure!

bowyer is a retard man! u think souness sorted him out and will it affect bowyer?

b4 the dyer thing, wat were the transfer rumours or links...

Geordie Ahmed
5th April 2005, 05:55
Im starting to like Dyer, i thought i would never forgive him for doing what he did BUT he was worked very hard and played very well since so i am starting to like him! i dont blame him for what happened on Saturday, it was all Bowyers fault.

Dyer has never fulfilled his talent, he does have the talent BUT he hasnt fully shown it BUT recently he was playing well and this may well be the season that sees the talent of Dyer come to play!

We were linked with Alan Smith, also Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt and the defender Cesar

Bowyer grateful for fans' ovation

Newcastle's Lee Bowyer thanked the St James' Park faithful for being given a standing ovation after coming on as a substitute against Sporting Lisbon.

Bowyer replaced Kieron Dyer, just five days after fighting with Dyer towards the end of the 3-0 loss to Aston Villa.

"It was really good, I couldn't have asked for any more," said Bowyer.

"I did an article in the local paper and asked the fans to give me a chance. Thankfully they did that and hopefully I can repay them in the future."

He added: "The fans know that they will get 100% from me every game and the support was great."

Manager Graeme Souness admitted he was glad both Dyer and Bowyer played their part in the 1-0, Uefa Cup quarter-final first leg win.

"I'm just relieved that we have got through a game and we are talking about football again," added Souness.

"There was pressure on the players out there tonight and I think that contributed to maybe the way we played at times.

"Lee and Kieron know they have been really daft and they won't do it again - but the crowd have been fantastic to both of them here.

"You can understand them going home frustrated on Saturday but they showed they are behind the

BBC Sport.

I don't understand how the Newcastle supporters can give Bowyer a standing ovation.

What is the world coming to?

Yes they both are suspended for this weekend games.

Oh sorry i'm not Geordie.

Im sure Geordie can clarify the situation.

i heard it was immediate suspension so must be

Geordie Ahmed
8th April 2005, 15:08
Yes, they are both suspended! Dyer has a 3 match domestic ban whilst Bowyer has a 4 match domestic ban (hopefully it will get extended by the FA)

I was gutted he got a standing ovation, most of the older fans i spoke to after the game were not happy about it.

I hate Bowyer and i know he will mess up sooner rather than later. once a thug always a thug, i know the fans wont give support him if/when he steps out of line again!

Bowyer is full of shitt, he said before the game to the local paper "I'd die for Newcastle United" :L? :L? :L? :L? Biggest pile of shitt i have ever heard, I wudnt die for the club and who the eff is that little twatt

Waqar's inswinging yorker
8th April 2005, 15:23
bowyer is an idiot - sell him, get what u can u dont even need him IMO - in that midfield u have players like dyer, butt, jenas and robert nicely supported by faye, milner, ambrose - just add another and great depth there

Geordie Ahmed
8th April 2005, 15:26
Saying he is a good player is not a good enough reason to keep him, also he aint all that, he gets too much yellow cards and gets sent off too much! gets into too much trouble, its a player we would be better off without!

Waqar's inswinging yorker
8th April 2005, 15:30
i agree

Geordie Ahmed
8th April 2005, 15:32
rumours have it that he will be sold, getting rid of him would be like a World Class signing for me ;)+ ;)+ ;)+ ;)+ ;)+

Since Bowyer has joined Leeds he has 91 yellow cards, Dyer has 8 in that time

Waqar's inswinging yorker
8th April 2005, 15:36
wow - 91 and he isnt even the "tough guy" of the midfield like a nicky butt, vieira, keane who u expect to get booked

Geordie Ahmed
8th April 2005, 15:40
Butt, Vieira, Faye etc etc game is all about making tackles, breaking up play etc BUT Bowyer is just a thug who lashes out when someone gets the better of him on the pitch

Back to the Bowyer issue, for our next home game which is not til the end of the game, i think he may get a different reaction. there were 36000 ppl at the game last night, a lot of the regulars didnt attend and i think they may well have a different opinion of the toerag! i hope thats the case! the only thing is that the match is quite a way away
