2nd test today at Trinadad. Windies looking the favourites after a great performance in Georgetown and with Lara,Gayle,Bravo and Sarwan back.

Trinadad starts turning on days 4 and 5. Saffies are poor players of spin. If the Windies bat first than they will be favourites

Raz

Im looking forward to the return of Lara, Sarwan, Bravo and especially Gayle. If Gayle's last Test match was anything to go by (a 81 ball century which included smashing 6 fours in one 6 ball over) then we are in for a real treat.

Not only that, in his last he lead Jamaica to a win in a final in a domestic competition with a century in both innings!

sarwan is a very classy player - great to watch when in full flow, maybe chanderpaul should bat at 3 with sarwan at 5

No doubt but he does throw his wicket too often for my liking. I think he can be compulsive hooker and gets out on that too often. Also his record so far doesn't do justice to his talent.

If one looks at his record he has probably been out caught by 'others' many times which includes loose shots getting him out at sq leg or point. Needs to show more consistency. Same goes for Gayle.

Sarwan hasn't really performed in tests but has performed in ODI. Do you think he tries to play a bit different in tests to ODI? If he does then should'nt he bat more like he does in the ODIs? :)?

Officer Barbrady
8th April 2005, 15:19
I think he plays in a similar fashion to ODI's. But in tests he has to control his (high risk) hooks and airy drives early on to be more consistent. Most of the time you will see him getting out going for his shots rather than bowlers getting him out.

Amjid Javed
8th April 2005, 15:20
sarwans very loose in his play wether it be attack and defense... in odis u can get away with that to an extent in tests u cant.

Zondeki looks like a good pacer for SA

Mid and sometimes high 80s mph so far.
One was timed at 94.3mph but im convinced that was an error as it didn't look much different and the was 10mph faster than what he was normally bowling

There's only one Lara! He is at his vintage best, there's no better sight in cricket than watching Lara in full flow. Without a shadow of doubt the greatest batsman in the world 2day.

2) Tendu

You guys were saying the pitch is very flat. So it has been poor batting mainly?

Amjid Javed

The pitch isnt flat, there is some bounce and grass aids swing and seam early on. every dismissal has been self-induced.

inzi did admit that india going into their shell handed it to Pakistan however they deserve a lot of credit for how they hung on in there.

turned the team around? well........u should wake up and smell the coffee. not even winning satisfies Aus, they are always looking to better themselves!

great stuff - nice to see him back, he is a quality batsman. very nice to watch. sadly he and bashar are compulsive hookers and it costs them many dismissals indeed.

Rob H

What's Bashar got to do with Windies v SA?
See contradicting is very fun

Abdul Qadir 236

West are now leading by 104 runs. Sarwan must carry his bat to the end. South Africa are still favourites though

Rob H

SA should win this if they get Sarwan.

200 could be very tricky on this pitch, even 180.

Saj

very easy chance dropped by Rudolph a couple of hours ago. If he'd caught Bravo, the Windies could have been in serious trouble.

Still not out of the woods yet though.

yeah shows how important fielding is - as if Pakistani cricket fans needed reminding
