Just a thought here. There was this incident of someone shooting Kamran Akmal's father while trying to rob the car. Well, we know that bookies can resort to such strong arm tactics when they feel they are not getting whhat they bargained for. There are hundreds of incidents of car theft , how many of them result in shooting? Kowing Pakistani culture, totally untouchability of the mighty and powerful, it is hard for me to believe that match fixing is the thing of the pat. But i sincerely hope i am wrong here

That is not the point of my possible explanation. What i am suggesting is that there might be some match fixing drama involved here, shooting is just the high point of it..

Oxy did you even read his post? Or did you read the part about his father and that's it. He wasn't even talking about his father being shot as the reason.
And in response to the topic....give me a break. Match fixing? Even if your theory was true, why would the bookies be mad at him? He's been doing terribly good job for them, no?

He has been playing too much cricket since he came into the team. Everyone in the team used to get a break from cricket every now and then either in form of rest or injury but kami has been playing non stop cricket since a long time. He needs a break. Probably he could have been rested for this series against saffers.
