Vladimir Smicer admits he is unlikely to return to Lens when his Liverpool contract expires in the summer but concedes he could stay in The Premiership.
The Czech Republic ace is primed to leave Anfield at the end of the season and Lens are among a number of clubs chasing his signature.
The midfielder enjoyed a three-year spell with the French outfit before linking up with The Reds in 1999.
Lens have discussed the possibility of Smicer returning to Stade Felix-Bollaert but the 31-year-old does not feel it is a viable option.
"I have never said that [I will rejoin Lens]," Smicer told Lidove Noviny. "It's a truth I will probably leave The Reds but it's still open to where I will go.
"I don't have exact offers. Two or three offers are from England and the same number from France.
"I haven't talked about the names and I don't want to.
"Yes they [Lens] asked me, I talked with them, that's a truth but a deal? It's a long shot.
"I don't think it would be the best choice to return to Lens. We won the French league, the French Cup.
"And people there would expect more from me than I would have been able to fulfil. Perhaps it would be better to start somewhere from scratch."
Wisla Krakow had been keen to sign the attack-minded midfielder during the winter and Smicer is open to a switch to Poland.
He added: "I have played in France, in England but I have never thought about playing in the Polish league.
"I know they were interested in the winter when I was recovering from injury and then I had chances to play so I had no reason to think about leaving.
"But in the summer I will weigh up all offers."
Though Smicer is due to leave Merseyside, he hopes he will be included in manager Rafa Benitez's plans until the end of the season.
"Benitez is intelligent," he continued. "He knows he needs to finish in the top four in The Premiership and to play well in the Champions League.
"So I don't know why he shouldn't take advantage of all the players. Maybe I will leave in the summer but it doesn't mean he won't let me play.
"Maybe he has an idea of a different team for next season with me absent."

smicer can go. waste of space imo. never got going in the prem. hopefully stevie g will be fit for juve
Tottenham boss Martin Jol insists Robbie Keane has a future at White Hart Lane, but does not want a repeat of last week's show of petulance at Birmingham.
The Republic of Ireland striker stormed down the tunnel in a fit of pique after Jol opted to throw on Mido ahead of him during the 1-1 draw at St Andrews.
It is believed that Keane has knuckled down in training this week and has impressed Jol with his desire, but the Dutchman does not know if the 24-year-old will remain at the club next season.
"I do not know," Jol told Five Live. "He knows and I tell him, there are not a lot of gifted players I have seen like him in my life. He is a big part of our set-up.
"He was player of the year last year, but I have to make a choice between him and Jermain Defoe. Jermain has scored a lot of goals as well - as a matter of fact, Jermain is scoring always the first goal and the winning goal.
"Robbie is doing that occasionally, so I have to make a choice. But if he had not been here, we would have had a problem, we would probably have ended up with five or six points less. Jermain Defoe will do the same - if he had not been here this season, we would not have achieved anything.
"They are all important for our squad and hopefully he will stay because I want him to stay, but you never know because if he is fed up or he is not happy. But we will see at the end of the season."
Jol can understand a player being disappointed at not being involved but claims feelings should be kept private.
"I think Robbie was disappointed, was frustrated, and he should be because I think he has got a good mentality and he wants to play all the time.
"But there were different reasons for me to put Mido on. We ended up with two big fellas with set-pieces and corners.
"I think he stepped out of line - he should not show his frustration. We have talked about it and there was no problem with him because he is a fine lad and he had a fresh start this week.
"You cannot keep them all happy because if you have 22 or 23 players in a squad, there are players in the stands for example, so they cannot be happy.
"But I think you do not have to show it because the main thing for the supporters is that they are happy and that we are having the results. That is the main thing."
Jol is expecting to see plenty of Keane, as he added: "He told me the other day `when I am not playing, I am going to be visiting you in your office every day' and I said I am looking forward to it.
"But that is private, he can say whatever he likes between us, but not show the whole stadium.
"Even if he is keen to play, you cannot show your frustration."
Bergkamp close to Arsenal exit
A member of an Arsenal supporters club has revealed Dennis Bergkamp may not be offered new terms at the end of the season.
Fan club representatives met with Arsenal chief David Dein to discuss plans for next season - the last at Highbury.
The Sunday Mirror says after the meeting, the club's loyalists sense the Dutchman will not be offered a new deal.
When supporters suggested Bergkamp as a deserving candidate there was an awkward moment before the fans were told the matter would be "put on hold".
"We got the strong impression that Dennis isn't going to be around next season," said one supporter at the meeting.
"There was an awkward moment when we mentioned Dennis as a must for a tribute day. He's a God at Highbury. But we were told they would put the matter on hold."
Agent of Tottenham's Robinson set for Barcelona talks
Barcelona are set to test Tottenham's resolve with a £6 million bid for goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
The Sunday Mirror says Robert Segal, the player's agent, was spotted in Spain last week and is scheduled to fly out for further talks this week.
The 25-year-old has been in outstanding form for Tottenham and England this season.
In fact, the Spurs hierarchy have already opened talks about a new contract, despite the fact that Robinson only moved to White Hart Lane from Leeds last May.
Birmingham to offer Newcastle escape to Bowyer
Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce is ready to gamble on the signing of controversial Newcastle United midfielder Lee Bowyer.
The People says Bruce has been searching for a combative midfield presence since Robbie Savage left St Andrews and had been eyeing up a move for Chelsea's Scott Parker.
But with Bowyer certain to cost less than half of the £5million-rated Parker and with a host of Premiership clubs competing for the Chelsea man's signature, Bruce has turned his attention to the Toon misfit.
He has no problem with Bowyer's reputation, having already welcomed the likes of Jermaine Pennant, Christophe Dugarry and Walter Pandiani to St Andrews over the past two years.
Juventus to ask Liverpool about Baros
Juventus will approach Liverpool this week for talks over striker Milan Baros.
When Liverpool visit Turin for their Champions League return-leg, Juve intend to open formal negotiations for the Czech Republic international.
Juve have decided to step up their interest after Valencia president Juan Soler shocked interested clubs by revealing they had been speaking with Baros about next season.
Mario Melchiot has urged former Chelsea team-mate Scott Parker to join him at Birmingham City.
Melchiot left Stamford Bridge last summer after five years to move to St Andrews and is delighted with his decision.
The Dutchman feels Parker, who has struggled to break into Jose Mourinho's first-team plans, would benefit from making the same move.
Blues boss Steve Bruce has made no secret of his admiration for the former Charlton star, and Melchiot has done his bit to help persuade Parker by insisting he would not regret switching to the the Midlanders in the summer.
"I don't have one regret about leaving Chelsea for this club, and I will tell him he won't have any regrets either," Melchiot told The Sunday Mirror.
"You can't compare the two clubs in terms of stature these days, but he will enjoy his football here.
"He is a very good player and he would be welcome.
"Scott must be gutted not to be playing more for Chelsea, so I wouldn't blame him if he moved on.
"He made his name playing every week for Charlton and won an England cap at that time too, so it won't harm his international hopes if he joins Birmingham.
"He would be playing regular Premiership football for a progressive club.
"It's up to Scott of course, but if I were him I'd have a good long think about moving."
Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss David O'Leary - who is also reported to be keen on a summer move for Parker - has hit out at The FA over Bruce's recent comments on the Chelsea midfielder.
O'Leary is unhappy that Bruce has not faced censure for publicly expressing his desire to sign Parker having himself been punished earlier in the season for making similar comments about then Southampton striker James Beattie.
"What's the difference between what I said and Steve Bruce talking about Scott Parker? Probably Steve Bruce, maybe The FA like him," the Villa boss fumed.
Leeds hero Radebe: I turned down Man Utd
Leeds United hero Lucas Radebe has revealed he turned down offers from Manchester United and Tottenham to stay at Elland Road.
The South Africa international defender had his Testimonial Ball on Saturday night and hopes to be fit for his testimonial match against a world team at Elland Road in May.
Radebe told the Sunday Mirror: "I will walk away from here in the summer with great memories and great friendships. I've had some unforgettable nights playing against the best teams in Europe.
"I have no regrets about my career or remaining loyal to Leeds because I love this club.
"I know that Manchester United made an offer for me once. Roma also wanted me, and I could have gone to Spurs with George Graham when he left here.
"But I have always felt at home here and when all those offers were made I believed I could win cups and championships here, that the club was really going places.
"In the end, other people decided to gamble on the club's future and they lost.
"But while I've not got any medals to show for my time at Elland Road, I still think I will be remembered for being part of one of the club's greatest teams - and that is something I am proud of
Arsenal Wenger has warned Robert Pires he will not be offered a long-term deal to extend his stay at Arsenal.
Pires has just one more season left on his current deal and has made it clear he wants to pen a new one.
The former Marseille star is believed to be looking for an extended contract to see him end his playing days at Highbury, but Wenger insists he will only be offered a year-to-year deal - as has been the case with Dennis Bergkamp.
"Robert has a year to go because we took up the one-year option on his original contract, so he has no option on his current contract," Wenger stated.
"He has the extra year already which finishes in 2006.
"Then, if he wants to talk about an extension, why not?
"But he will be 33 by the end of next year, and then we will go from year to year."
News that Pires will not be handed an extended deal has prompted talk he could be ready to quit The Gunners with Primera outfit Valencia understood to be monitoring his situation.
However, the wideman - who scored his side's winner at Middlesbrough on Saturday - has played down talk of moving on.
"Rumours about me leaving are not serious but they are hard to answer because I still haven't had a meeting with the directors," he said.
"I hope to do so before the end of the season - to see where I fit in their plans, where the club is going and to prepare for next season.
"I wouldn't mind ending my career at Arsenal. We'll see what comes from the discussions."
One player who will be offered a new long-term deal at Highbury is midfielder Gilberto Silva.
The Brazilian has seen his season disrupted by a serious back complaint but, having battled back to full fitness, Wenger is ready to reward the 28-year-old with fresh terms.
"Gilberto's injury is behind him now and we will try to extend his contract at the end of the season," Wenger continued.
"There's still one year to go on his present deal so there's no great need to do it quickly.
"He's the kind of player you need in every team, like Roy Keane for Manchester
Newcastle chairman wants Bowyer to visit shrink
Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd wants Lee Bowyer to seek professional help.
Shepherd says Bowyer needs to find a shrink to help curb his temper after last week's angry brawl with teammate Kieron Dyer.
The chairman told the Sunday Mirror: "Anything that helps Lee Bowyer control his temper has to be a good thing.
"Whether it is an anger-management course or some other form of behaviour counselling, I would fully support it.
"We want him to show us that he is willing to do something to tackle the problem.
"There is no doubt that Lee has an extremely short fuse and after what happened it is imperative that he finds a way of dealing with it.
"Natural aggression is a key part of his game, but he has to learn he mustn't cross the line into violence. What he did in the Villa match was the most outrageous act I have ever seen on a football pitch and there is no way any repeat will be tolerated.
"But until he lost the plot against Villa we didn't have a complaint about his behaviour.
"That is why he is still at this football club. We took his previous good behaviour into consideration when we punished him with a record club fine of six weeks' wages."
Radebe: My pal Bowyer on last chance at Newcastle
Leeds United hero Lucas Radebe has warned former teammate Lee Bowyer he is on his last chance after his brawl with Newcastle pal Kieron Dyer.
The South African defender transformed his career from being an outcast to becoming captain when Leeds were reaching European semi-finals and becoming a Premiership force.
Radebe's status in the world game was acknowledged by FIFA who made him one of their elite band of world ambassadors.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "I can't believe Lee has let himself down again. I'd have thought he would have learned his lesson after what he went through in court a few years ago, but he's obviously still got problems.
"The most disappointing thing is that he had a terrible reputation hanging over him when he went to Newcastle and this was his last chance to make the most of the fantastic talent he has.
"I don't know whether he was provoked, or whether he has a history with Dyer that no one knows about, but there can be no excuses because they are both professional footballers.
"I must say I always found Lee a fun-loving guy and although I've heard claims that maybe he has a problem with racism, I can tell you Lee is NOT a racist. I've spent time with him - he used to live on the same estate as me - and he is a really great fella.
"Maybe it's the time to stop looking for excuses, to take a look at himself, and to start living a good life. Only Lee can do that for himself."
Middlesbrough boss desperate to keep Zenden
Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is desperate to hold onto winger Bolo Zenden.
With Werder Bremen sniffing around, Zenden has admitted he could walk out of the Riverside in the summer when his contract expires.
"We want him to stay but we have got to prove to him that we will sustain success, we have to do that to all the top players here," said McClaren
Cole: I can't see myself anywhere but Chelsea
Chelsea midfield ace Joe Cole is delighted he chose to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "At the moment I can't see myself anywhere else. The fans have been so good to me I want to repay them with some trophies.
"I've learnt a lot tactically but I have to say it's not just the boss. Everyone at the club has helped us technically and tactically and I think everyone in the squad has improved.
"I go out and play with imagination. It comes naturally to me. I don't like the word showboating. I've grown up learning on the streets and that's how everyone plays in London when you're playing street football."
Spurs tell Man Utd: £8M for Robinson
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson must find £8 million if he wants to land Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
The People says United boss Fergie has made it his priority in the summer to sign a top-class goalkeeper and Robinson is at the top of his list.
Ferguson has been quoted £8million for the 25-year-old, who moved to White Hart Lane from Leeds last summer for £1.5million.
Spurs do not want to sell Robinson but they know every player has his price and are aware that he is keen to play Champions League football, which United can offer him.
Birmingham boss confident Upson will resist Liverpool, Newcastle offers
Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce is confident of holding onto centre-half Matthew Upson.
The England international has put talks over a new deal on-hold until the summer and is being chased by Newcastle United and Liverpool.
Blues boss Bruce has moved to fight off pursuers by offering Upson a new five-year deal worth £25,000 a week.
Bruce said: "Matt still has three years to run on his contract but because he has been playing so well we put an offer to him. For my mind, he is the best left-side central defender in the Premiership."
But Upson has become frustrated at not being able to force his way into Sven Goran Eriksson's plans and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready with a £4m offer for the former Arsenal man.
Newcastle track Abidal
Newcastle United boss Graeme Souness has joined the growing list of admirers of Lyon fullback Eric Abidal.
Juventus, Barcelona and Inter Milan have all been long-term suitors of the Frenchman, who has been likened to Juve veteran Lilian Thuram.
Souness has made personal checks on Abidal this season - both in Ligue 1 and Champions League action - and is keen to pair the versatile defender alongside France teammate Jean Alain Boumsong at Newcastle next season.
Tottenham step closer to Barcelona's Riquelme
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is pushing ahead with a bid for Barcelona midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme.
Argentina international Riquelme has been offered to a number of Premiership clubs, including Spurs, for £5 million and Levy is ready to bite, says the People.
The Spurs chairman has discussed the need to bring in a 'big personality' signing over the summer with coach Martin Jol and football chief Frank Arnesen - and Riquelme fits the bill.
The living Boca Juniors legend has been credited with reviving Diego Forlan's career while on-loan at Villarreal this season and ideally would like to stay with the 'Yellow Submarines'.
But Villarreal cannot match Tottenham's spending power and in the Premiership club's favour is that Riquelme favours a move to London if he is to play in England next season.
Real Madrid coach: Nothing personal against Figo
Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo insists he has nothing against Luis Figo after dropping the Portuguese winger for last night's El Clasico against Barcelona.
"Look, I have no problem with Figo. I had to drop him because I wanted to take advantage of the good form of (Michael) Owen," said Luxemburgo. "What else could I do?
"Raul, Figo or Zidane. I cannot play 12. Figo is upset - and I can understand that. But I am the trainer and I make decisions best for the team. I have nothing personal against Figo."
He added: "Figo is a classic player. He is not finished."
Spurs chairman wants 'big personality' signing
Tottenham are in the market for a 'big personality' player, admits chairman Daniel Levy.
Real Madrid pair Luis Figo and David Beckham have been linked with Spurs and Levy told the Sunday Times: "If we could find the right character, in ability and personality, it could help the team.
"The trouble is, that charismatic type's hard to find."
He added: "The plan is to have two players for each position and after that a number of academy lads capable of breaking through. But it's an evolution, it's not going to happen overnight."
Arsenal chasing Lokomotiv Moscow's Izmailov
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is considering a bid for Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Marat Izmailov.
The News of the World says Wenger has received glowing reports from Gunners scouts about the 22 year-old.
However, any move for Izmailov will prove difficult for the Gunners, with cashed up Lokomotiv Moscow part of a host of Russian and Ukrainian clubs regarded as the new power block emerging from Eastern Europe.
Chelsea boss Mourinho confident of landing Liverpool's Gerrard
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is privately confident they will land Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard at the end of the season.
The Times says sources at the London club indicated yesterday that José Mourinho is convinced he will succeed in his pursuit of Gerrard, who agreed to join Chelsea last summer but backed out of the deal at the last minute in order to spend one more season at Liverpool.
Officially there has been no contact between Chelsea and Gerrard since, but a source at Stamford Bridge said yesterday that "the player has agreed and will definitely join in the summer - unless he changes his mind again".
DC Utd whiz Adu: No Chelsea, Man Utd contact
DC United teenage star Freddy Adu says he'd love to play in the Premiership.
However, the 15 year-old striker has played down reports of talks with both Manchester United and Chelsea about a move to England.
"I got invited by ChampionsWorld to go and watch Chelsea play AC Milan and that was it, but that's where that must have come from. It's just speculation," the Ghana-born youngster told Scotland on Sunday.
"I love the English league, it's my favourite league, I think it's the most exciting in the world," he continues animatedly. "So if I get an opportunity to go there then I'll grab it and I would love to end up there one day
I wouldn't mind seeing Gerrard go if we get £30m+ for him and we may not miss him as much on Wednesday if Xabi Alonso is back

The game is a business. Liverpool have missed out on 2 injections of cash investment in the last 12 mnths, so are lagging behind Chelsea/ManUre/Aresenal.
They desperately need the cash. They got their hands burned when MacManaman went to Real Madrid on a free transfer under a Bosman. Thats why we sold Owen, and thats why we will have to sell Gerrard.
The question isnt 'would ManUre sell Rooney'...because Everton sold Rooney for the cash. Liverpool are in an identical situation.

Liverpool need to say farewell to:-
Dudek, ,Kewell, Traore, Biscan, Schmicer, the Senegalese boys, Le Tallec, Pongolle, Baros (if he wants to go) and other dead weight that cripple our wage structure for no output on the pitch.
Agreed that Biscan looks good in Europe, but shyte in the EPL.
Pongolle, Le Tellac and Traore should stay. Al of them are improving and the first two will learn a lot from Rafa (they're only teenagers)

Chelsea have released a statement insisting that a meeting between chief executive Peter Kenyon and Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand was 'purely by chance.'
The two met in a busy London restaurant, but Chelsea have moved to quash any transfer rumours before they begin.
"We have made it absolutely clear to Manchester United that we have no interest in signing Rio Ferdinand and there is absolutely no significance in Peter Kenyon seeing Rio in a busy London restaurant. This was a meeting purely by chance in a public place," said Chelsea in a statement.
"Both the player and Manchester United are fully aware of the circumstances of the meeting and Chelsea's position on it.
"Any suggestion that there is an explanation other than a chance meeting will be met with the strongest legal action."

MAN UTD IN CRISIS _ LOL
aahahahahahahhahahahahah
Manchester United captain Roy Keane has launched a scathing attack on his team-mates.
The Irishman has accused some of his team-mates of not giving 100 percent to the team's cause this season.
United have endured a disappointing season by their own high standards this term crashing out of the UEFA Champions League at the first knockout stage and lying third in The Premiership table.
United's form has dipped in recent weeks and things were summed up in last weekend's defeat to bottom of the table Norwich with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson locking the players in the dressing room
Despite having an FA Cup semi-final with Newcastle to look forward to this weekend Keane has slammed the attitude of some of the players at Old Trafford and the Republic of Ireland international is not afraid to voice his criticism.
"People are sick of excuses now," Keane told MUTV. "We are running out of them anyway.
"Results don't lie and the table doesn't lie. Our performance levels have not been good enough.
"Everyone at this club needs to look at themselves and ask whether they are giving 100 percent to the football club.
"I am not sure all the players can say they are. That is a crime in itself."
Keane believes the players have no excuses and that no blame is attached to Ferguson for their shortcomings this season.
"How many chances should a player get," added Keane.
"You can bring a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.
"The manager provides everything for the players. Everything they want, they get.
"All they have to do is come into training every single day with the attitude of trying to help the team improve.
"It is not about individuals. You can have the most talented players in the world but if you do not play as a team, I guarantee you will win absolutely nothing.
"Every player should be fighting for their place at this club.
"Going back over the years, when we have been at the top of our game, players never took their places in the team or position at the club for granted. That is what made them really good players and what made us an outstanding team.
"It is all right having a laugh in the dressing room but maybe there has been too much laughter. You can go too far the other way.
"What matters is what happens on the pitch. We have talented players at this club, that is obvious, but talent without work rate and pride is a waste of time."
Keane believes United must treat every game serious if they are to get back to their brilliant best.
"We should go into Sunday's game looking to win it, but we should do that in every game," said Keane.
"Sunday's game is no bigger than last Saturday's.
"It doesn't matter whether it is Newcastle, Norwich, Arsenal or AC Milan, you treat every game the same, prepare as well as you can and give 100 percent.
"If you think it is going to be easy you are going to get beaten."

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH - MAN UTD ABOUT TO RAID THE PENSIONERS PILE FOR A NEW STARTER IN MIDFIELD - a barca cast off, a guy released in italy, turned down a trial at barca for a second stint!!
Espanyol have played down reports linking Manchester United with a swoop for midfielder Ivan De la Pena.
The former Barcelona star, known as Little Buddha, has enjoyed a terrific season for Espanyol and has been an integral part of the Catalans' push for European qualification - they currently lie sixth in La Liga just three points off third place.
De la Pena's form has been such that he has finally earned international recognition this term, making his debut against San Marino in February and playing again last month against Serbia & Montenegro.
United have dispatched representatives to watch Espanyol five times in recent months with their targets believed to be goalkeeper Carlos Kameni or central defender Albert Lopo, who is out of contract in the summer.
However, sources in Spain on Tuesday surprisingly suggested it was De la Pena who was the subject of their interest.
Espanyol have poured cold water on the speculation, though, and insist they have not received any approach from Old Trafford for the midfield schemer.
"At this moment we have not received any proposition from Manchester United," Espanyol director of sport Cristobal Parralo told skysports.com.
"I believe that there are rumours in the press because several scouts of United have been at our matches in the last few months."
De la Pena's agent Manel Ferrer also denied having been contacted by the Premiership titans, but conceded his client's form had caught the eye of several European sides.
"I do not have any proposition from Manchester United for the player, but Ivan is playing at a great level and several European clubs are following his progress," Ferrer added.
De la Pena signed a three-year contract at Espanyol last summer and it would take a substantial bid to prise the midfielder from Estadio Olimpico.
Indeed, the 29-year-old himself refused to comment on the speculation and insisted he was focusing all of his efforts on helping his club secure European football next term.
"I have a contract until 2007 and am only thinking about Espanyol qualifying for European competition," he stated.

Robinho has again insisted he has not already agreed a transfer to Real Madrid.
The Brazilian starlet has long been tipped for a move to the Spanish giants but remains adamant no deal is in place for him to leave Santos.
It goes against the noises coming from Real, whose director of football Arrigo Sacchi claimed in February that Los Merengues had already sealed a deal for the South American youngster.
Along with Real, Barcelona and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old, but Robinho has spoken out to again deny the speculation surrounding his future.
"I am a Santos player and there is nothing concrete in everything they are saying over there," he stated with regard to the latest rumours in Spain.
Santos president Marcelo Teixeira also dismissed talk of a transfer, adding: "Two years ago they were saying Robinho was on his way to Europe and there is still nothing.
"We will keep him at least until after the 2006 World Cup

Samuel Eto'o has ruled out Real Madrid's chances of winning the league despite their win over Barcelona.
Real Madrid revived their title hopes with a thrilling 4-2 win over their arch rivals last weekend, but Eto'o insists that Barcelona will still win the league despite the defeat.
The Cameroon international scored the Catalans' opener in the 4-2 defeat on Sunday, but was furious that his team could not finish several of the other chances they created.
"I can assure you that another team except Madrid will win the league," said Eto'o
"Who are the leaders? It's Barcelona, is it not? Now everyone is talking about Madrid winning the league.
"The fact is that we are top and we have beaten them overall. We could have won 7-4 in the Bernabeu with all the chances we had. I was furious during the game because of that.
"With all respect to their players we lost against a team that was walking around.
"But Barca is a team that will not hide. We have the players to stay ahead and we will play every one of the seven remaining games like it is a final.
"We have a great side that deserves to win this league and it is impossible that it will slip away. But we do need to show humility."
Real Madrid did not take his accusations well as vice-president, Emilio Butragueno hit back at Eto'o's remarks.
"We are always very respectful of other people's opinions, but it is very difficult to beat Barcelona, let alone score four goals against them, when you are walking," said Butragueno.

Barcelona striker Maxi Lopez has called on his team-mates to respond in the right way to their defeat to Real Madrid.
Real rekindled their title hopes with a 4-2 win over Barca last weekend and it leaves them just six points behind the Catalan giants in La Liga.
Lopez admitted the defeat to Real had shocked them, but knows they must bounce back in style against Getafe this weekend.
"We have to get up again and we will do it," said Lopez.
"We know that we are near to winning La Liga and that we have done a big effort for being where we are.
"We received two very strong shocks. First after being sent out of the Champions League by Chelsea and now after losing the derby but in the same way we beat Athletic Bilbao after Chelsea now we have to do the same with Getafe. This is a similar situation."
Lopez, meanwhile, has declared himself ready to fill the void left by Samuel Eto'o's injury when Getafe travel to Camp Nou this weekend.
"I will keep on working as I have been doing until now," added Lopez
"I am making a very big effort and giving the best from me for having the chance of playing next Sunday.
"I haven't spoken to the coach about the chance of playing but I suppose that it will depend on the tactics that will be used for that match."

Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is chasing Graz AK pair Rene Aufhauser and Emanuel Pogatetz.
Midfielder Aufhauser has since impressed for Austria in the recent World Cup qualifying double-header with Wales, notably scoring a late winner in the game in Vienna.
Left-back Pogatetz, who was on loan to hometown club Graz from Bayer Leverkusen when he lined up against McClaren's side, has now been farmed out to Spartak Moscow.
It is believed McClaren could sign both players for a combined maximum fee of £3million and in doing so beat off competition from a number of other clubs.
Aufhauser in particular is being monitored and is clearly keen on a move.
He said: "I know scouts from Italy, England and Germany have been taking a closer look at me for one and a half years now.
"Scouts were at Austria's game in Wales too but I haven't received any concrete offer yet.
"But I have to admit that for any Austrian player it's a dream come true to play in one of the leading leagues in Europe."

Liverpool target David Villa is considering his future at Real Zaragoza.
The Spanish U21 international striker is fed up with his super-sub status after being squeezed out of the first team this season due to a new 4-5-1 system employed by coach Victor Munoz.
"I have been playing here for over two seasons and before this one I was always starting," said Villa. "Now I am starting on the bench and without an explanation from the coach, this surprises me.
"The coach makes the decisions and doesn't have to explain them to anybody. I guess the reason I am on the bench is because it is best for the team. But how can I be sure?"
Its been revealed that along with Liverpool, several other Premiership scouts were at last weekend's match between Zaragoza and Mallorca.
"I only found out about that after the game," added Villa, "and I am not interested in it.
"When I play, I don't play to please anyone. I don't care who is watching."

Borussia Dortmund midfield ace Tomas Rosicky is ready to follow the path of older brother Jiri and sign for Atletico Madrid at the end of this season.
Jiri Rosicky had a short spell with Atletico after joining them in 1996 from Sparta Prague and kid brother Tomas is now ready to be latest family member to play at the Vicente Calderon.
While Tottenham and Arsenal have approached Dortmund about the Czech Republic international's availability, Rosicky has had his agent contact Atletico directly about the prospect of moving to the Primera Liga club.
Dortmund's financial woes mean they are willing to accept just £6.5 million for the midfield schemer, well within Atletico's summer budget.
However, any move will depend on Atletico qualifying for Europe next season. Rosicky has made it clear that Atletico must be regular participants in European competition if he is to make the switch to Madrid in the summer.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is weighing up a move for Espanyol midfield ace Ivan de la Pena.
The Spanish international has been watched twice in the last two weeks by United chief scout Martin Ferguson and Espanyol directors are bracing themselves for an approach from the Premiership giants.
De la Pena is contracted to the Barcelona club until 2007 and insists he is settled in the city. But the opportunity to join United will prove a big carrot for a player who can count on Barcelona and Lazio as former employers.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has also admitted his admiration for De la Pena, but is unlikely to bid for the 28 year-old.
Espanyol chiefs confirmed last week that any offer for their players would be considered, though they are in no need of having to sell during the summer market.

Real Madrid wing ace Luis Figo is closer to a move to Inter Milan.
Fresh contact has been made between Figo's representatives and Inter intermediaries after the Portuguese was dropped to the bench for Sunday's victory over Barcelona.
Figo is a favourite of Inter supremo Massimo Moratti's, who is convinced the Portuguese can bring out the best in coach Roberto Mancini's rigid 4-4-2 system.
Moratti has already told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that he wants Figo, having registered his interest while the pair met at Ronaldo's wedding celebrations earlier this year.
Perez is ready to grant Figo his request of a free transfer after the 32 year-old agreed not to sign for another Spanish club.
Figo is also happy to take a major cut on his £2.5 million salary and is willing to accept the two-year, £1.4 million-a-season deal Inter are drawing up.

"In terms of Xabi's ankle, there are no problems. In terms of his physical condition, who knows?" he said.
"We need to decide if he can play 90 minutes, or just a half. But we have other options - we could use three forwards, or 10 defenders!
"A friend called and suggested we use 'the tactics of the bat,' and have 10 players hanging from the crossbar to keep the ball out! We will see."
Arsenal's Pennant ready to commit to Birmingham
Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant is ready to sign a permanent deal with Birmingham City.
Pennant, 22, jailed this year for drink-driving while disqualified, aims to follow Matthew Upson by moving to St Andrew's and forcing his way into Sven Goran Eriksson's England squad.
Talks are already at an advanced stage over a £3million summer deal.
Pennant said: "I'm happy to stay here. Birmingham are a great club and are trying to achieve things.
"Matthew Upson left Arsenal to come here and he's gone forward and got into the England team.
"Hopefully, the same can happen to me. I've been capped by the Under-21s and playing for your country at senior level is what everyone dreams about."
Barcelona's Ronaldinho slates Chelsea strikers
Barcelona ace Ronaldinho has slammed Chelsea's strikers, Didier Drogba, Mateja Kezman and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Man Utd's Rooney denies slapping Coleen in public
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has denied slapping fiancée Coleen McLoughlin at a nightclub.
The £27 million England and Manchester United striker is alleged to have slapped his girlfriend during an argument at Brasingamens club in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, on Sunday night.
One witness told a newspaper that Rooney was seen being dragged away by team-mates following the bust-up with Coleen, also 19, who is said to have fled the venue in tears.
A spokesman for the player denied Rooney had slapped his fiancée, but admitted they had been involved in an argument at the venue.
He said: "They did have an argument in public at the nightclub and left together and spent the night together. Everything is fine between them."
Bolton take up Fadiga option
Bolton Wanderers have taken up an option to extend Khalilou Fadiga's contract at The Reebok Stadium.

"We are in discussions, but nothing has been finalised as yet," agent Charles Collymore told skysports.com.
"Bolton have taken up the option to extend Khalilou's deal which is good news and we are looking to explore details.
"Khalilou would be happy to stay at Bolton as they have been very good to him and given him a chance to play.

Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly made Sevilla starlet Sergio Ramos his prime transfer target for the summer.
The wonderfully talented defender, who plays at full back, has already come under the gaze of United, Arsenal and Real Madrid this season.
However, it is now being claimed that having watched him again in recent weeks - Ferguson has told the club's directors that he wants Ramos at 'any cost'.
Ramos is already a full international and like with Jose Antonio Reyes - Sevilla know that they may struggle to keep hold of one of Europe's most highly rated youngsters, although they did increase his release clause to £18 million in January.
The 18-year-old has been watched by Martin Ferguson, United's chief scout and brother of Sir Alex, a number times over the past few weeks and glowing references from him seem to have urged The Red Devils to make a move sooner rather than later.
Ramos has always stated his desire to remain with Sevilla, but it seems increasingly likely he could be on the move.
Martin Ferguson has been very busy in Spain over recent months and has already highlighted a number of possible summer signings for the Old Trafford giants.
He has filed favourable reports on the likes of Villarreal's Jose Reina, Ivan De La Pena of Espanyol, and Racing Santander winger Mario Regueiro.
Away from Ramos and the others, another Racing player has also come to Ferguson's attention in the shape of Anderson Silva.
The 23-year-old is a defensive midfielder and like De La Pena and Michael Essien, is believed to be considered as a possible long-term replacement for United skipper Roy Keane.
United's interest in Silva is even believed to have reached the point of contact between Martin Ferguson and the player's agent.
However, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all aware of the South American's capabilities and are unlikely to allow United a straight forward path to his signature.
United chief executive David Gill has already insisted the club have spent this summer's transfer budget following the near £30 million paid for Wayne Rooney last August.
However, Ferguson knows he can raise money from sales of other players with a host of United's current squad sweating over their futures - including the likes of Alan Smith, Kleberson, David Bellion, Darren Fletcher, Quinton Fortune and Phil Neville.
Gill did state that money has been set aside for a new goalkeeper, with Roy Carroll looking set to depart on a free transfer.

Bundesliga champions Werder Bremen have revealed that they are considering making a move for Bayern Munich misfit Tobias Rau.
The 23-year-old German international left-back has been out of favour at the Olympiastadion since joining Bayern from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2003 and is likely to move on in the summer.
"I am not prepared to spend another season sitting on the bench," Rau told Die Welt and revealed that he was in contact with Bremen, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
Bremen would appear the most likely destination for Rau as The Greens look set to lose Swiss left back Ludovic Magnin to Stuttgart this summer.
Werder sport director Klaus Allofs confirmed his interest, saying:
"Tobias is a candidate for us as he plays in a position that we need to think about."
Rau is contracted at Bayern until 2007, but club bosses are looking to reduce their squad at the end of the season

Bayern Munich's gifted midfielder Michael Ballack is ready to start talks with the Bavarian giants about extending his contract.
Bayern are desperate to pin down the Germany skipper on a long-term deal and general manager Uli Hoeness has recently declared that they are prepared to break the bank in order to keep the star.
"I am open to all proposals and if Bayern want to talk to me - I'll surely listen," Ballack told Kicker.
Ballack's comments are seen as a surprise as the 28-year-old had previously insisted that he will not decide his future before 2006 and it had widely been expected he would use the 2006 World Cup on German soil as a potential spring-board to earn himself a move to a big club in Spain, Italy or England.
Ballack joined Bayern in summer 2002 from Bayer Leverkusen, but despite winning the domestic double in his first season in 2003 he has made no secret of his desire to land the coveted UEFA Champions League.
"That [Champions League success] was the reason why I joined Bayern in 2002 and I am not giving up yet," he added. "We could have emerged victorious against Chelsea.
"We showed that we are able to compete with them, but in the end we committed too many mistakes and conceded goals we shouldn't have.
"A double would prove some kind of substitution, but we can't afford to lose track in both competitions as we haven't won the Bundesliga last season.
"But I am sure if we play like we did against Chelsea, we won't need to fear our competitors."

Patrik Berger's agent has remained quiet on claims that his client has agreed terms with Aston Villa.
The Portsmouth midfielder looks likely to depart Fratton Park in the summer on a Bosman transfer.
The Czech star has been on the South Coast for two seasons after joining from Liverpool and has enjoyed a successful time with Pompey.
However, Skysports.com believe a deal with Aston Villa has now been agreed in principal, with David O'Leary's side fending off wide-spread interest from The Premiership and other European leagues - as well as Pompey themselves.
Berger's agent Pavel Paska insists nothing has been decided yet and he will hold talks with Pompey supremo Milan Mandaric within the next week.
"We will be in England next week for talks with Portsmouth president Mr Mandaric," Paska told skysports.com.
"That is all we can say at this point, we will talk with him first."
Meanwhile, Villa's chief executive Bruce Langham has admitted the club will be paying big salaries this summer.
"There is no point in putting a plan together which says you are going to spend a significant amount on transfers if you have not allowed in that plan for the salaries of these players - and we have done that," said Langham.
"In terms of attracting players, Aston Villa is a great club, Villa Park is a great stadium and we are going to be building a great new training facility at Bodymoor Heath.
"I don't think we have an issue attracting players and I will go into the summer reasonably confident we will do what David wants to do. His targets are realistic targets. That is absolutely the case.''

Ferdinand wants £100,000-a-week at Man Utd
The agent of Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is demanding £100,000-a-week for his client.
The Times says Pini Zahavi met United chief executive David Gill and Maurice Watkins, United's solicitor, in London yesterday morning in the hope of resolving Ferdinand's future, but negotiations ended at lunchtime with an agreement nowhere in sight.
Gill is believed to have left the meeting concerned by the demands for a six-figure weekly wage at a time when the club are attempting to scale down salaries and by the suggestion that Ferdinand could choose to leave on a free transfer when his present contract expires in June 2007 if no agreement is reached.
More talks are scheduled, but both camps indicated that an agreement was some way off.
Zahavi admits "Rio wants to stay at United and sign a new deal", but that "the conditions must be right".
United, while willing in principle to increase the player's wages from about £70,000 a week, are reluctant to break their wage structure in order to accommodate the defender, described as the "best in the world" by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Everton to splash out on Fulham star Diop
Everton boss Dave Moyes is chasing Fulham midfield ace Papa Bouba Diop.
The Senegal international is being eyed by Moyes as a replacement for Thomas Gravesen, who left for Real Madrid in January.
Fulham manager Chris Coleman admits he may have to sell if the money is right and Moyes is preparing a £5 million bid for Diop - nicknamed the Wardrobe because of his 15st, 6ft 5in frame.
Chelsea to tempt Man City with £18M SWP bid
Chelsea are ready splash out big for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in the summer.
The Times says Chelsea manager José Mourinho has identified Wright-Phillips as one of his main transfer targets and while the Chelsea manager is likely to face stern resistance from Manchester City for their midfield player, a fee of about £18 million would be difficult for a club saddled with crippling debts to turn down.
Sources close to Peter Kenyon, the Chelsea chief executive, say the Barclays Premiership leaders are prepared to double Wright-Phillips's wages to about £50,000 per week
Southgate urges Middlesbrough to sign up McClaren
Middlesbrough skipper Gareth Southgate is urging chairman Steve Gibson to make the re-signing of manager Steve McClaren a top priority.
McClaren's five-year deal at the Riverside runs out at the end of next season and Boro chairman Gibson is poised to open talks on a fresh agreement.
Skipper Southgate, 34, believes getting McClaren's future sorted out will bring stability and boost Boro's chances of building on last year's Carling Cup success.
Southgate said: "Everyone here would like to see something get done to maintain stability.
"If you are looking to bring in players in the summer, they will want the managerial situation to be clear.
"That uncertainty can unsettle things at a football club."
Real Madrid confident of resisting Man Utd offers for Casillas
Real Madrid are confident of resisting any offer from Manchester United for goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be happy to pay Spain's No1 shot-stopper £75,000 a week to solve his goalkeeping problems.
Casillas, 23, is one of Real's lowest-paid stars on £30,000 a week and Madrid are stalling on a new contract as he has a season left on his deal.
But Real vice-president Emilio Butragueno is confident Casillas, who is having English lessons, will stay.
He said: "He is a fundamental player. There is time to sort out his future. That is our intention
Savage pleads with Blackburn boss to give him Cup chance
Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage is pleading with boss Mark Hughes not to rule him out of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with Arsenal.
Savage, 30, signalled his return to fitness this week after a six-week lay-off with a groin injury.
The Welshman managed 69 minutes of a reserve-team clash and believes he is ready to make an emotional return to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Ex-Man Utd director: We could do a Leeds if Glazer allowed in
Former Manchester United director Greg Dyke has warned the club could be set for financial ruin if they accept Malcolm Glazer's £800million takeover bid.
Dyke an ex-Old Trafford director and former BBC Director General said: "The only way he can afford it is by taking on a massive amount of debt. The risk is too great.

Liverpool favourite Garcia: I had to quit Barcelona
Liverpool favourite Luis Garcia admits he had to quit Barcelona for the sake of his career.
He said: "I was at a point where I couldn't allow myself to play so few games. I thought to myself, 'I am at home, at my club, scoring goals in the pre-season and yet still I am not starting'.
"The decision to move to Liverpool was taken quite quickly with the arrival of Ludovic Giuly. I don't know whether it was the atmosphere or what but I felt that I would have to spend more time on the substitutes' bench even though, of course, I would have had my chances with 60 games a season.
"Barca coach Frank Rijkaard told me that he counted on me but Giuly was a big signing and I did not want to go into the reserves or be on the bench.
"I am doing well here and I am very happy. I have practically played all the games and I have the confidence of the coach.
"Rijkaard showed confidence in me but with Rafa Benitez, it is a little different as he already knew me. He knows my capabilities."
Real Madrid's Owen: I'm not behind Newcastle, Liverpool rumours
Real Madrid striker Michael Owen insists he isn't behind the constant speculation linking him with a return to the Premiership.
Newcastle, Bolton and Liverpool have all confirmed their interest in the England star, who said: "There's never been anything from me. I've always said I'm happy and I've had a good first year. I've been involved in virtually every game. There are people who are talking about my future but it has not been me."
Owen's record suggests he may have been leading the scoring charts had he been given more playing time but the former Liverpool star refused to speculate.
He said: "We'll never know but you score more goals if you play - and nobody has ever scored a goal from the bench.
"I've not played as much as(leading scorer) Samuel Eto'o and I hope to play more in the future."
Celtic boss says 15 clubs want Newcastle's Bellamy
Celtic boss Martin O'Neill has revealed 15 clubs are chasing the signature of on-loan Newcastle United striker Craig Bellamy.
Blackburn, Birmingham and Celtic have all confirmed they're keen to land the Welshman in the summer and O'Neill revealed: "Craig Bellamy, I'd say, would be in a position to have maybe at least 15 options in the summer time.
"And, as much as we like and enjoy the SPL up here, because we have been involved in it for some time, that might not be everyone's cup of tea.
"That is all I am saying. I didn't discuss that with him, but that would be a straight forward thing you would put in front of people.
"And, if he has the chance to play in other particular leagues, he may well look at those."
Asked if he'd spoken with Bellamy about staying at Parkhead, O'Neill added: "No I haven't. I think it is far, far too early to be going into any of that.
"I've said umpteen times he might as well enjoy himself, and I think he is doing that. Let him get on with it, there is plenty of time to discuss these issues further down the line."
Gold confident Birmingham will seal Pandiani deal
Birmingham City chairman David Gold is confident they will sign on-loan striker Walter Pandiani in a permanent deal from Deportivo la Coruna.

"I do not think there will be any problems.
"If you look back at the history of Birmingham City under the stewardship of the Golds and David Sullivan, most deals get concluded.
"I cannot remember a deal that has collapsed. Even Craig Bellamy was not an issue of finance - it was more his desire to go to Celtic."
Chelsea chief on the phone to Man Utd to clear up Ferdinand meeting
Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon has cleared the air with Manchester United over his chance meeting with Rio Ferdinand at a London restaurant last weekend.
Once rumours of a meeting started to surface in public on Tuesday, in a concerted effort to avoid more 'tapping up' claims it is understood Kenyon immediately phoned Gill to reassure him the club had no interest in the England centre-back while Chelsea released a statement threatening legal action against anyone suggesting the meeting was anything other than accidental.
However, those moves did not prevent United boss Sir Alex Ferguson reacting with fury to the news that Ferdinand had been seen with his agent Pini Zahavi and Kenyon in London restaurant Carpaccio on Saturday night.
Ferdinand did however manage to persuade Ferguson during talks at the Carrington training ground on Tuesday that he has every intention of staying with United.
Man Utd boss Ferguson exploded at players during training
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson exploded at his players on Tuesday.
The Mirror says Fergie accused his stars of betraying the club during an hour-long lecture before training, accusing them of "falling below the expected standards" of the club both on and off the field.
Teenage superstar Wayne Rooney was subjected to Fergie's infamous 'hairdryer' treatment on a one-to-one basis yesterday after fresh allegations concerning his private life.
One insider revealed: "Fergie had been storing up his anger since losing to Norwich at the weekend and the Rooney business just made it much worse for everybody."
Lyon to try again for Liverpool striker Morientes
Olympique Lyon are lining up a new bid for Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes.
Lyon attempted to sign Morientes in January, but were beaten to the punch by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.
"If we ever lose Michael Essien, Juninho or Mahamadou Diarra, we need to find great players to replace them," Lyon adviser Bernard Lacombe told But! "I really hope that we will keep our great players because they have adapted to Lyon.
"We really want to keep them but you can never say never. It is obvious that Lyon need a guy that scores very often. Sonny Anderson gave us our first title with 23 goals.
"At Milan there is Shevchenko, Ronaldo at Madrid and Drogba at Chelsea. We don't have that kind of striker. We will take stock in June. We are following Morientes very closely.
"He is a player who did feats with Monaco. With Ludovic Giuly and Jerome Rothen on the wings, he was fed with a lot of great balls.
"At Liverpool he is less outstanding because it is not at all the same context."
Chelsea confident of record deal for Liverpool's Gerrard
Chelsea remain confident of sealing a deal for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard in the summer.

Gerrard is already thought to have agreed in principle to the transfer.
Fulham players furious with fatty jibes
Fuham are fuming after Men's Fitness magazine labelled their players the fattest in the Premiership.
The Guardian says Fulham demanded an explanation after Men's Fitness printed an article on body mass index and claimed that Fulham's players were the tubbiest in the top flight.
Their manager Chris Coleman, who prides himself on the fitness of his squad as any manager would, was not amused. And the club say the article is inaccurate.
The table drawn up by the magazine takes into account only body mass index, a figure calculated from height and weight. By this yardstick players who are particularly muscular or have large builds are labelled fat regardless of their fitness or absence of body fat.
A Fulham spokesman said: "Fulham is very surprised that a magazine which attempts to publish material about fitness has published such ill-informed and irrelevant information.
"One of our players, Mark Pembridge, who is identified as being in the top five fattest players in the Premiership mentioned in the article, is a 5ft 7in player and has one of the lowest percentage body fat scores, one that would be deemed unhealthy for his performance should it fall much lower.
"We believe that Men's Fitness needs to do its homework a little better before it makes such ridiculous claims, or perhaps its editor should simply watch a little Premiership football on the TV, where it becomes obvious that athletes competing in the English Premiership are some of the leanest and fittest in the country."
The magazine admitted later, "Men's Fitness fully agrees with Fulham FC that the BMI is a load of old rubbish and useless at determining someone's body fat, and we say as much in the article.
"A quote from the article said: 'Before we get abusive responses from angry fans of the Cottagers, we should say that we believe the BMI is a flawed system because it doesn't differentiate between muscle weight and fat. These results could mean that Fulham are simply the most muscular team in the Premiership. But it's funnier to call them fat'.
"So really we're just having a bit of fun, in the same way that government is having a laugh when it uses the BMI to declare that 50 % of people in Britain are fat."
Owen urges Chelsea's Lampard to go abroad
Real Madrid striker Michael Owen has urged Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard to move abroad.
The former Liverpool ace said: "It's helped my game. I have seen a different way of life and played in a different league and it's been a good experience.
"It depends on the individual but I think it is an opportunity not to be missed."
UEFA demanded Chelsea coach removed woolly hat
Uefa officials made Chelsea coach Rui Faria remove his woolly hat to prove he was not in communication with banned boss Jose Mourinho during the Champions League quarter-final second leg in Munich last night, it has emerged.
To Chelsea's anger, Faria was marched into a side room during half time, accompanied by two Uefa officials who then asked him to remove his hat.
Despite protests from Faria, who claimed such a request was not in the Uefa rules, the Chelsea coach duly removed his hat to prove he had no communication device attached to either ear.
West Brom's Hulse desperate for Leeds stay
Rob Hulse is desperate to secure a move to Leeds this summer after being told he has no future at West Brom. Hulse joined Leeds on a loan deal until the end of the season in February.
The 25-year-old has since scored six goals in nine games, and now he wants to make the move permanent.
"I don't know which club I'll be with next season, but I've really enjoyed my experience here at Leeds," said Hulse.
"Kevin [Blackwell] and his staff have shown faith in me when others have doubted me, especially having been out for so long at West Brom.
"I do really like it here and I hope we can come to some agreement because I know I've not got a future with West Brom.
"I've known that since Christmas through a few things the chairman [Jeremy Peace] has said to me, but that's football.
"This club feels right for me and I can see next season being really exciting and I want to be part of that, but we have to wait and see what happens this summer."
Blackwell is hoping to persuade chairman Ken Bates to find the cash for Hulse as he told the club's website: "We'd like him to stay and that's something myself and the chairman will address in the summer."
Pennant reveals Birmingham deal with Arsenal
Jermaine Pennant has revealed a deal has been struck for his loan deal from Arsenal to be made permanent with Birmingham.
The 22 year old Arsenal star has been told he has no future at Highbury after serving a jail term for drink-driving and driving whilst disqualified.
"I think a deal has been agreed and when we get the green light we'll get things rolling," he stated.
"This is a great club trying to achieve things and it would be nice to be part of that.
"I believe I have the ability to reach the very top," he continued. "I have to keep on the straight and narrow, work hard and produce the goods for Birmingham.
"I've been given a new lease of life here under the boss.
"He's shown a lot of faith in me - as have the fans, my team-mates - hopefully I can repay that and kick on.
"I can progress, become a better player and get into the international scene.
"I've been capped by the Under-21s and playing for your country - the full side - is what everyone dreams about."

"Manchester United may become the next Leeds."

Not surprised! why oh why does he have to keep running his mouth???
He has been cr@p the last few games so this comment was like a plea to be dropped! BUT i would still play him cos he is the danger man when it comes to free kicks! I would like to see N'Zogbia start but i doubt it Souness will do that! I hope we can get an early goal
