hitman your predictions........?
nufc
12th April 2005, 17:06
yeh but it was gonna be hard in italy even if youze did have gerrad!
When jueventus came to england they had to adapt to english playing conditions and tempo. They were awful in the first half but improved in the second. Liverpool did play brilliantly but just didnt have the quality up front to punish jueventus.
When liverpool go over there they gonna have to play jueventus style of play and get used to italian tempo i think jueventus have the quailty to captilised on this. Maybe i was being a bit harsh saying 4-0 but i reckon liverpool will go out, mark my word!
Asara i like both inter and AC but i think AC will win but it will be intresting that adrinaho is back now inter might sneak in a win but im going for AC.
bayern 2-2 chelsea
Inter 0-1 AC
Jueventus 1-1 Liverpool
PSV 2-1 Lyon

good luck to all english teams especially liverpool :P
Thanks NUFC.
But as Rafa said, finishing fourth is more important than progressing in the CL.

yeah 4th place is going to be a good race this year but next year hopefully we are challenging for 4th again.
The premiership has been a funny league this year its like its been split up in little groups;
group 1( at the top)
man u
chelsea
arsenal
group 2(challenging for 4th)
liverpool
everton
maybe bolton
group 3 (mid table)
spurs
boro
newcastle
charlton
villa
group 4 (lower middle table)
man city
birmingham
blackburn
group 5 (relagtion)
portsmouth
fulham
west brom
southampton
palace
norwich

motorbike? how the hell did that get in there in 1st place?

12th April 2005, 21:50
AJ - inter fans are notorious for motorbikes/mopeds - they threw one onto pitch during a league game last season.
one thing i must say that the milan derby is always full of fireworks! - ok ok i know it is cheesy but has to be said!
Oxy
12th April 2005, 22:06
Was this game on ITV2? I was watching Chelsea.
I can see a season ban coming up for Inter.
If UEFA see any sense, then Milan will be awarded the tie tomorrow.
What happened in Milan is an utter disgrace!
Good win for Chelski though
Waqar's inswinging yorker
12th April 2005, 22:09
OXY - a 3-0 walk over is handed out - that is definite as roma were on receiving end of one of those when their fans threw just 1 firework as opposed to 50/60 thrown by inter fans
Oxy

What goes on in Italy on weekly basis is tolerated by the authorities. Its gang/territory driven, with the police literally scared of doing anything.
BBC did some amazing documentaries on crowds in Italy and Argentina. SS Lazio crowds decide who is bought & sold at the club!!!
I fear for Liverpool fans on their way to the Juve game tomorrow.
Judging by the way Juve fans acted at Anfield last week, it will get dirty. I am sure Juve fans are looking for revenge for Heysel 85'.
I too fear for Liverpool fans travelling to Turin. Italians fans look like hooligans at their worst.
Inter should get a ban from next season's CL and the extra spot should go to the 5th place team in the English Premiership!
Oxy
12th April 2005, 22:19
I dont wish to compare what happened tonight with Heysel, but EVERY English team was banned from Europe for 5-6 years.
Italian fans are collectively a lot worse week in-week out...will ALL Italian clubs be punished?
Waqar's inswinging yorker
12th April 2005, 22:22
OXY - i rememeber that documentary, lazio were trying to buy lillian thuram - but he decide to join the least racist elite club - so picked juve but lazio hooligans actually managed to meet the guy - they tried to convince him they werent racist by using argument, we have a black person in youth team and we dont abuse him. It is good that the italian hooligans dont travel overseas
If what happened in Milan today had happened in England everybody would be calling for a complete ban. It is a disgrace that Italian fans get away with this stuff week in, week out
Waqar's inswinging yorker
12th April 2005, 22:31
HITMAN - it is an internal problem as opposed to other nations hooligans who travel and cause problems abroad and as such italian federation should deal with it
Oxy
12th April 2005, 22:34
The English hooliganism problem is largely experienced AWAY from home, hence the severity of their punishment.
I gues Holland, Turkey and Italy's issues are more domestic.
Waqar's inswinging yorker
12th April 2005, 22:47
that is true oxy - infact a famous incident in a feyenoord vs ajax reserve game. Van persie was showboating in fromt of ajax fans - about 100 of them broke through barrier and went after him - they started beating him - infact they say van persie would have died had it not been for marco van basten throwing himself on van persie and ofcourse the fans relented with police and the legend that is van basten. That is also why van persie has also had to see a pyschologist about it - because he said he was having knightmares - he is lucky to be still alive - just showboated
Geordie Ahmed
12th April 2005, 22:55
UEFA should punish Inter seriously BUT i doubt they will
A paltry fine and a game behind closed doors is all im expecting (i hope they prove me wrong)
Oxy
12th April 2005, 23:13
If Juve fans act as Inter fans did, perhaps that is Liverpools only way of winning tomorrow? An abandoned game???

12th April 2005, 23:18
i recokon juve will win 2-0 against liverpool
Geordie Ahmed
12th April 2005, 23:18
Quite possibly BUT i think the Juve fans are more sensible.
Waqar's inswinging yorker
12th April 2005, 23:23
guys - juve's stadium is very secluded - if u check their average attendace - it is very low - they have a lot of support around italy - outside of turin and as such they get poor attendances plus the fact the stadium is difficult to get to
I read in the news that alcohol has been banned in the vicinity of the football venue in Turin fro 48 hours! Wise move
Assara K
13th April 2005, 05:33
motorbike? how the hell did that get in there in 1st place?
in Italy you can get a motorbike in but whenever i go to a match at Old Trafford i ALWAYS get my bottle taken off me ***...
i blame security, because hooligans are at more or less every match and so the cant be controled, so then its up to security.....

Can't believe ManUre won it in 1999...but thats life!
Also-if Gerrard is back, does Rafa drop Biscan???
GREAT performance by the team. Every player was exceptioanlly good. My MoM was Sami Hyppia.
And I reiterate that I very much dislike Baros.
Oxy
13th April 2005, 22:22
Baros wants OUT...he is not hiding it, and that gets me angry.
He was lazy, and lost the ball so many times.
So what if he had a good Euro2004?
I thought his attidude stank today.
If he wants to go to Spain...good riddance
Yeah, good riddance. I'd much rather have Nando, Cisse, Pongolle or even Mellor as they play for the team.
I have really started to hate him of late.
We need to get that 4th spot now to make sure Gerrard stays and we can sign good players

Our reserve team knocked Tottenham out of the Carling Cup! We will have some fresh legs back fro Saturday. Possilby:
Stevie G
Stevie W
Nando
Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso in the centre of midfield. Just that thought makes me happy!

13th April 2005, 23:28
Excellent result for Liverpool. They are capable of beating Chelsea and almost did in the carling cup final.
Oxy
13th April 2005, 23:34
Just listening to Rafa on 5Live...seems as though the he did his homework on Juve. And the team totally understood the tactics.
True. As Hyypia said in the post-match interview. Liverpool knew Juve were good through the middle so they put an extra man there (like Alonso was marking Nedved in the first half) and forced Juve to play wide. Brilliant defensive performance but a LOT of credit goes to Rafa as he masterminded this great European night.
Also, I'd like to see Igor Biscan stay at the club.
Oxy
13th April 2005, 23:44
I think he has done enough to get another contract.
I can see Owen back at Anfield next season...so Baros can disappear to Spain!
As I said, I'd rather have Pongolle in the line-up than Baros.
I doubt Owen will come back. he is starting to settle in Real.
Igor has become a cult legend! lol
