something Assara-ji said about Fergie being well past his sell by date, that is beyond doubt, I was screaming down the phone at her, "the day we sold jaap stam"
i think fabio capello should replace himbut failing him I am a fan of Ottmar Hitzfeld and Sam Allardyce.

Im not too confident we will win! if it was at St James then we would have had a good chance BUT we play Sporting on Thurs and then we have to fly to Cradiff! i think it will be too much for the players, manure have the luxury of not playing in europe!

lol AJ, how about Wenger's successor to be David "We need 2 players" O'Dreary?
he'll need 3 now Der Hammer has gone!
Geordie, actually I think we will win because Fergie goes for the big headlines to try and paper over the huge cracks in our team. I dont care about FA Cup semis or beating Arsenal at Highbury, I care about the 1-0 win away to West Brom in the middle of December! The team that picks up the most points against the bottom 6 sides usually wins the league, this used to be Chelski's big weakness and Utd used to be untouchable. Then we sold Jaap Stam.....!!

Johan "total football" cruyff isnt employed at the minute - great great coach and am surprised no one has asked him - koeman maybe? i would go with a continental manager

i would go with the best and that is Fabio Capello.

Allardyce. I remember him saying a while back that it is unlikely he will fulfil his ambitions at Bolton. This guy is a don. If he can do what he has done with no cash, then theres no doubt with even a little bit of cash to spend he can work wonders.
Otherwise we should definatley go for a foreigner because there aren't any other British managers worthy of the job IMO. O'neil is overated.
Capello wouldn't be a bad choice although he probably wont wanna leave juve. It wont be Hitzfeld.
I think Phil Scolari would be a great choice.
Hopefully it wont be Queiroz. He is definatley a great assistant, but I don't know if he is tough enough for this job. But if he gets a chance he might surprise me.
We need someone who can take on Mourinho and his so called "mind games". Fergie should be given one more season after this. If he fails to win the league or CL then he'll get sacked.

Fergie will never be sacked (http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=271334&cpid=8&CLID=&lid=2&title=Ferg ie+will+never+be+sacked&channel=Football_Home)
Director Sir Bobby Charlton has declared that Manchester United will never sack Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils may be through to an FA Cup final date with Arsenal but they suffered their second successive Premiership defeat on Wednesday, at Everton, and surely must have to settle for third place for the second season running.
A disappointing UEFA Champions League campaign was ended by Milan as United continued to fail to reach the latter stages of the competition they won in 1999.
Ferguson, for the first time in years, has faced some criticism from sections of the club's support, despite retaining the backing of the majority of fans, but Charlton says his job is completely safe.
"The only way we would ever be separated from Alex Ferguson is if he decides," Charlton told Sky Sports News.
"We have no plans.
"He is the best manager that has ever been, the most successful, certainly in England, and we have no reason to change."
The 1966 World Cup winner is in China promoting United's friendly with Beijing Hyundai on July 26.
Chief executive David Gill stirred some debate recently when admitting Ferguson was 'sackable', although he later insisted the comment was taken out of context.
"I think it's been an unusual season this year in as much as we've had Chelsea spend a lot of money," Charlton added.
"They've brought in really good players and been very successful. That's one of the reasons why we haven't maybe been successful.
"Without Chelsea, we might have been champions this year and there wouldn't be a problem."
BAD NEWS FOR MAN UNITED FANS!!

agree fergie should have gone ages ago, i really want him to bow out on a high, sacking him would be termed as "sick" by me as he has done loads for the club and has upgraded them to a different level since he tookover so NO sacking would be harsh on him, i rather he resign...

Give Keane my job - Fergie
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson wants Roy Keane to be his successor.
Ferguson insists he will be in charge for at least one more year, but believes Keane has the leadership qualities required to step into his shoes.
"I will carry on at United next season and I have a contract to do that," Ferguson told The Sun.
"But when I do move on I would like to see Roy Keane taking over.
"He is a leader on the pitch and he could be that kind of leader sitting on the Manchester United bench, too."
Ferguson also took a swipe at Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who he described as "merely a coach".
"It is said that Mourinho is the number one but at 63 I'm not jealous of my competitors and what they win," the Scot added.
"I have been a manager for a long, long time and won many trophies. Anyway, my job is completely different and carries a heavier load than Mourinho's.
"Mourinho has a completely different culture at Chelsea than I do in charge at Manchester United. I'm a manager, not merely a coach.
"I make decisions about signings. I have the responsibility for the first team - plus the reserves and the United academy."

i agree - he doesnt seem like an intellectual to me. He has all the spirit and drive in the world - i saluted him when he walked out on ireland at wc for players unprofessionalism - he may be found wanting with tactics but that can be learnt
