It doesn't really matter who the coach is.

If they couldn't make it with Bob, they won't make it with anyone else.

Back to Gulli Danda, I say.

If Einstein was a cricket coach, even he would struggle to coach Pakistan :P

A very true statement Best thing is to have 1 head coach and a fielding and bowling coach and pray to allah for victory!

Look at what Jonty Rhodes has done to SA fielding - we criticised Jonty/PCB for splashing the cash - when ot was in fact the reluctance of our players to LEARN from the master.

Same with Bob - he was wasted on Pak - had he been coach of India - they would probably win the WC!

I partially agree with you that Bob was a great coach and perhaps not a good fit for the PAK team. Having said that i also feel that a cricket coach's role(at the highest level of the game) is slightly limited and he shouldn't be credited too much for a win or blamed too much for a loss.

I wonder why South Africa didn't win any world cups under him then.

They came mighty, mighty close (0.1 run if I recall in one world cup and a moment of madness by Donald to run himself out in another)

There is such a thing as luck as well you know.

He was brilliant coach, with a heart of gold.

.

They still had to play us (PAK), even if they had won vs AUS!
