yeh he won it with 16 votes, how many pp are there on battrick who have teams in pakistan?
hari you can only vote in the country that your team is based in im afraid.
although we have a couple of weeks before elections so lets just ask arond and see what everybody thinks.

Straight Bat

well there are 20 participants in the PP battrick league but some of htem are not from Pakistan. Lets guess that there are 15 who are based in Pakistan from the battrick league who are willing to support you. Thats a nice total already, and then if you can 'woo' non PPers through election speeches you could be on for 17 or 18.

If one of cali and billy run then it will be a landslide, if both run it could be interesting to see where peoples loyalty lies

Kamran
24th January 2008, 16:43
cali wont run and it dont look like billy wants to run, i might have a word with cali and see what he says.

iZeeshan

I want Caliban to run for National and then Kamran can take U19. I am interested, but prolly not in a position right now, cuz I havent contributed.

ok fair enough, good luck anyway.

Btw side question, was just wondering, when chaudry gets into the u19 squad - what will his wage subsidy be? how much percentage do they pay for? and is it for the full season or just the weeks he is not with you/?

iZeeshan

Guys, I am about to make an important question post in the training thread. Please reply.

Kamran
24th January 2008, 17:34
i think the subsidy is 1/3 and its only when he is not with you although im not sure he will get in currently he isnt even in the top 5 batsmen although i am expecting a pop next week but its touch and go at the moment.

iZeeshan

Wow, how the hell do they get so frikkin good? Like 4 batting/bowling nets? I swear people in England have their friends who don't want to play create accounts and train random people. We should do that.

Kamran

iZeeshan

Arite great! Prob is battrick isn't working for me right now.

Its a real shame Zeeshan doesn't have enough nets to net Zeeshan because Zeeshan could really come out a handy player and make a name for himself, Zeeshan. I also hope he doesn't go for too much cuz I don;t want to spend too much money on a player I am not really gonna use that much after this season.

Kawatch v sohrabslegends (2110187)

I'm going to GFI.

He has 2 big guns, hopefully he'll rest one of them.

What are the odds on an upset??

No doubt I'll end up losing but this will be my first GFI of the season - lets see what ratings I get at the end of it.

Hari Sombar
13th February 2008, 16:15
I have thought out a strategy

Im going to GFI against the two bottom teams apart from me ensuring that they do not get points against me, and if I beat them twice, I will have 4 wins, and maybe 1 or 2 from an upset. They will have 1 or 2 as well. I will TIE against hard teams to keep PFL under control. This way i will have a good chance not to get relegated.

There are some programs that do it.

I need some info on tactics for my next few matches :

RIGS (Rupesh Islam Glorification Society) 2157624

I got him in my next OD match, I really need a few wins under my belt .... the problem is this, after I play him, I play the three 'weakest' teams after him.

I cannot beat RIGS on PAN, and I doubt I can beat the next three on PAN, so I need some info.

Shall I GFI against all 4 teams, risk getting bad PFL for a few weeks, keeping in mind that I have the PP league as well, and then TIE for the next few hard games to get it back up ?

Or shall I TIE against RIGS, GFI for the next 2 people and TIE against the last person, there fore keeping good PFL but playing the risk of less wins ?

Here are the 4 teams

22/02/2008 (OD League) India Rules v RIGS (Rupesh Islam Glorification Society)
29/02/2008 (OD League) HuntingTigers v India Rules
07/03/2008 (OD League) India Rules v New Delhi Dipsites
14/03/2008 (OD League) Pelpal v India Rules

Also shall I play my strongest teams against any of them ?

Thank you for anyone who has the time to help me .... much appreciated. :)

Straight Bat
20th February 2008, 19:00
first thing, u can't GFI against all 4 teams. after the first 2 GFIs, ur team will play rubbish in the 3rd and especially 4th due to bad pfl.

i'll have a look at the teams and give my opinion on what to do against each team.

Straight Bat
20th February 2008, 19:08
GFI against hunting tigers and pelpal.

against RIGs PAN, against Delhi Despites TIE.

thats what I'd do anyway.

playing your full team in each game

so

PAN
GFI
TIE
GFI

and, I'd sacrifice the PP league for the OD league. More money in the OD league and it is more important.

Hari Sombar
20th February 2008, 19:23
Thank you very much SB, also, I don't think i can beat RIGS on PAN, even with my strongest team, you still think i should PAN ?

Hari Sombar
20th February 2008, 19:25
Also Pelpal, beat RIGS last time, but he must have GFI

Straight Bat
20th February 2008, 19:28
Thank you very much SB, also, I don't think i can beat RIGS on PAN, even with my strongest team, you still think i should PAN ?

I don't think you can beat Rigs, but instead of TIE, I think you should PAN so your NRR at the end of it isn't as bad as possible.

Another option is though, maybe a team like Rigs might see your new to the league and may TIE agaisnt you, so if you GFI against Rigs you might cause an upset?

so maybe
GFI
GFI
TIE
GFI

?

But that depends on the fitness of your team

you might end up having to go either

GFI
PAN
TIE
GFI

or

GFI
GFI
TIE
PAN

if you want to GFI against Rigs then you'll still have to TIE in your 3rd game and would have to decide between who you want to GFI in the 2nd and 4th game

Hari Sombar
20th February 2008, 20:00
I think:

GFI
GFI
TIE
GFI

My PFL is quite good now, and I can TIE the rest of the games to make up ... agree ?

Straight Bat

Hari Sombar
20th February 2008, 20:21
they are bad

Med - Energetic
woe - sublime
med - sublime
med - sublime
med - energetic ( Possibly going to play this player, not certain )
aby - sublime
woe - sublime
resp - sublime
fee - sublime
fee - sublime
comp - sublime

bad right ?

Straight Bat
20th February 2008, 20:29
I don't think you'll be able to play 3 games as GFI out of 4 weeks.

I think you should try two, and I would do it against game number 2 and game number 4

Hari Sombar
20th February 2008, 20:32
ok

PAN

GFI

TIE

GFI

Yes, you have had a great run. I also made it to round 6 for the first time. I face Adnaans' formidable Jhelum Unit. No chance of getting past him so I am standing down my first XI for a well deserved rest. My only gripe is that most of my matches were away so I did not earn too well out of an extended run.

Congrats Kamran.

I'm currently training the following player on 3 bat 1 field and 1 fitness and will hopefully see him play in the u19 team.

Sohrab Gul (1765218)

LH Batsman, RFM Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, moderate fitness.
A cautious player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: worthless

I still have the possibility of losing my FC game against the number 2 ranked team and staying in Div IV, or I could get promoted back to Div III again. I enjoyed the FC league a lot this year as I could put in second XI teams without worrying about winning or losing and my member confidence has remained high. Should I expand my stadium and stay in Div IV in FC or should I get promoted and improve myself with both my teams in Div III? I am 3rd in OD in Div III and that is a great improvement considering the strength of teams that are 1 and 2.

I would tend to agree with that although I do not know the team.

Keeping the FC team anchored in IV with member confidence at max all the time will definitely help drive attendances higher and earn you plenty of money.

It also gives you the option of using GFI in more OD matches if your first XI play only once a week most of the time and are well rested.

Hope it goes well! Its the strategy I use and it works beautifully!

I'm just going to throw a suggestion out here for all the teams who will not proceed to the next round of the PP battrick tournament.

It might be worth it for one you guys to arrange your own knockout tournament and name it something like the PP Battrick Plate to see which one of the teams who got knocked out in the first round.

This would ensure that you all get more friendlies in and you can have just as much fun in the up comming weeks while the tournament goes on.

So I have decided to throw away my games in FC so I remain in Div IV and don't get promoted to Div III. Do you think this is a good enough choice? I plan to expand my stadium and then win all my games in FC and finish 2nd or third in OD Div III. This will get me lots of money and also oppurtunity to improve my team. To do this, I would have to lose the game against the 2nd place team and then lose one more game against the other teams.

1) Should I do this? Is there a benefit of staying in such a low division? I play my worst players and still win every game easily and it is a hassle to get the game to go to 3rd day to get enough revenues.
2) What strategy should I use to ensure that I lose? Declare for a low score? Get batsmen to bowl?

1) Great benefits, good choice, good money, time to build up your team to take on the div III and II's properly.

2) Make batsmen bowl etc. Try and bat first, on a H&F pitch maybe, declare for about 100-200 if you can. Let them get however much they want and then just make sure you get bowled out by either going v. attacking or something like that. Make sure they have a good lead though.

Hi,
I will start selecting next season´s U19 team in a few weeks and your player looks interesting (from his wages). Could you please tell the following:

1. Current skills.
2. How close he is to next pop in primary skills.
3. Current training.
4. Will you be able to rest him in some club matches next season to save PFL for the U19 matches?

Im investing 0 in my YA right now, and have 70 ITS right now.

The condition is strong right now, and expected to go to proficient in a few weeks.

I'll be pulling 2 players. My money is this right now :

Balance
Current Balance: £-220,201
Projected balance at next Update: £-351,240

Im selling a player for 250k, if I sell I would be around -100k.

Shall I invest in the academy to get it to strong so I can pull better players with more ITS, or is it not worth the risk yet with the money I've got, and I should just leave it as it is ?

Straight Bat

normally on a saturday when the finances upate.. but it won't happen on the saturday this week because the new season will be starting. Instead, the first Youth Pick will be on (next Tuesday) and after that back to normal with it being on Saturdays.

Btw, you pull people through the option on your club info page if you didn't know.

Goldbrain
19th May 2008, 18:25
You have to bring your acadmey to superb, otherwise there is a chance you might not pull a decent player and 250k is not enough, you should have at least 0 before next finance update:D

:)) don't listen to goldy!

don't upgrade your academy at all yet, wait untill your making the big bucks.

But I would invest 20k a week in ITS, it allows you to put those ITS into skills when pulling youth players and so increases the chances of you pulling a better player

Nope. I haven't invested any ITS at all since i joined battrick a little while ago, and so obviously haven't spent any.

It actually comes up like this:

Youth Academy Condition: useless
Academy Investment: £2000

You can only declare at the end of a day. Either that or you can set up a declaration total for each innings BEFORE the match. For example if you set 600 they'll declare whenever they reach 600.

Found the answer
first in the The OD League will get 35 k
third in the FC league will get 40k

btw Plasma what's the name of ur team?
(i have mentioned the prize money for 6th div teams.)
I am not to sure about ur team so it might not be applicable to u(plasma).
Though u can check the prize money in Help-> Rules->Competitions.
Sorry dude, i missed your post.

I got 75k for first position in OD and 70k for third in First class.

I've been promoted in the OD league i believe and there are a couple teams which just don't belong. They have a few players whos ratings are in the 80s and 90ks.

THhs is where i am now, my second season. Can anyone explain the league system, im clueless about that.
OD league: III.2
First Class League: IV.21

This is where i was last season.
First Class IV.21.
OD league IV.32.

and my team name is Cornered Tigers

Plasma, chances are you're gonna get smashed in div III and gonna go back to IV.

It works like this :

div VI - promoted to div V
div V - promoted to div IV

etc ....

I assume div I is the best.

But then how did i get into div VI in my first season? It seems logical i move from 4 to 3, but the difference is huge.

You probs had a good starting team, but looking at your team and the others in your league ......

I went to III, had a hard time and came back to IV to rebuild, meanwhile iZee is in div II, and im expecting him to have a tough time.

yes div I is the best ..... or more precisely div I.1

Its all luck. as long as you can pull a player with 25 plus ITS you dont have to invest in the acadmey.
