its always good to get a win in a new leauge..i am aiming for promotion this season aswell..but that wont be as easy coz i lost my first match.

Sean
1st June 2007, 10:33
Played a match and received £78920 in gate receipts, made some good money from this match
I made 51,599 from gate reciepts. I've only got 600 members. When they get near 1000, my crowd will be much bigger.

Sean
1st June 2007, 10:38
Good wins guys. I wish it was the same for me. :|

Vegitto1
1st June 2007, 10:39
Sean..u looking for a promotion this year?

Sean
1st June 2007, 10:43
No, not really.
My projected finance is -177k. Once I clear that, half the season will be gone. My two main players, Myall and Lisbie are still developing. I think this season is about developing. Next week is a loss, so I'm going to take it easy and rest Myall and Lisbie. I'm going to get slaughtered, but it's alright. This team won all their matches last year.

Hari Sombar
1st June 2007, 10:56
Im definatly aiming for a promotion this season, I have a good chance 2 / 2 so far

iZeeshan
1st June 2007, 11:01
I won my game quite comfertably! My star bat was once again not out.

One of my good batsman that I tried opening with got run out, should I leave him there for next game? Because, I really wanna see how he performs.

Sean
1st June 2007, 11:02
I could be 3-2 after the next 3 weeks. Maybe even 4-2 after the next 4 weeks. After next week, the next 3 matches after that are very winnable. But I still doubt that I'll get a chance for promotion. Flying Cows CC will come first and win every match.

Nah, no way do I think I'll get relegated. Where do you have to come to be relegated. Anyway, I was saying that by the end of the next 4 weeks, I should have 4 wins and 2 losses. Not 4 losses and 2 wins. lol.

you made 288 which was good. try investing in some bowlers

Sean
1st June 2007, 11:40
Hasbeen, you never know when you first start. When I started, the same thing happened to me. (I try and forget about my first every match)
One game, I bowled a team out for 230, then the next week, I conceded 300! And that was against a lesser opponent! (I think)

Lol, just don't go over the top ck

hasbeen
1st June 2007, 11:55
ck first look at your 5 bowlers and see how many are weak. then if its two bowlers who are weak. go on to the market and search for two cheap bowlers ie under 30k each. before you buy make sure you have looked at his bowling attributes ie bowling, consistency and stamina. also look at his averages and economy rate and so on. if your unsure, just post the player you like on here and one of us will advise you if its a decent player

Found a typo in the commentary.

13.6 wd Caskey to Mansell
A wide, speared down the leg side. Bridges takes the ball before leaping into a facetious appeal, attempting deter the umpire from signalling a wide, but it the man in the white coat is wise to it.

50 for Mansell.

19.5 2 Caskey to Mansell

And that's his fifty! Well played.

47.1 6 Tahir to Naeem

7.5 6 Wise to Davies
Davies charges a good length ball outside off stump, gets a huge top edge over the slips and it sails all the way over the third man boundary.

YAY! Go Davies! Go Davies!

Sean
3rd June 2007, 04:43
Damn. Just lost 2 wickets in a row a couple of overs ago.

22.5 W Hazell to Charlton
Hazell makes the breakthrough! Good length ball just sliding through on off stump, nips back a fair way off the seam, flicks through to Sewell, big appeal and the umpire raises the finger.
22.4 W Hazell to Bridges
Gone! Hazell has bowled Bridges with a yorker. To top it off, Bridges's broken his bat as he slammed it into the pitch trying to keep that delivery out.

Bridges made 26.

35.3 W Winnacott to Matthews
Matthews has gone for the paddle sweep ... but he's overbalanced and Sewell has whipped off the bails ... no need to refer that one to the 3rd umpire, Matthews is lying in a crumpled heap two feet outside his crease staring forlornly at the wreckage.

Guys, do you think that I should drop Handbury for Charlton?
1. I don't currently have a spinner in my team and I probably need one.
2. Handbury has been expensive lately. He is always going for 50+.

What do you think?

I have one spinner - Winnacot and he does well in both restricting and takeing wickets but that might be because of my pitch type.

You should have one in your squad and if you feel that he can get the best out of the pitch you'll be playing on then put him on for someone expensive like Handbury.

Almost run out! They really shouldn't have run that single.
5.5 1 Caskey to Werner
Solid stroke to long on, tempted for the second, sent back.
5.4 1 Caskey to Purse
Vicious short ball, off the handle and behind square for one run.
5.3 . Caskey to Purse
Good judgment by Purse as he judges the length well, allowing the ball to pass over the top of the stumps and through to Bridges
5.2 . Caskey to Purse
Angled in, stroked back down the pitch.
5.1 1 Caskey to Werner
Guided it away past point for a quick single.

35.3 W Longrigg to Charles
OUT! Longrigg strikes with one that lands on off, right on the seam, and draws the thin edge through to Bridges. Longrigg looks like the cat who's got the cream.

I have lost. Pretty good effort considering I was taking it easy against the top team. Had I gone for it, I think I would've won. I've got no bloody idea why I took it easy. :12:

Woah! I noticed I was a massive chance! I was 3/210, then went to be all out for 227. Woah!!!

I have a problem. Should I pick Charlton or Handbury for the next game? Handbury is an opening bowler who can't really bat, and Charlton is a spinner who can bat. I currently don't have any other spinner besides Charlton.

Anyway, this shows that I have improved a hell of a lot. Last time I played this team, I was bowled out for 14! 14!!!!!!

A loss, but not unhappy went from being out for 50 odd last game, to over 300, so good improvement in the batting, just need decent bowlers now lol :D

Thanks for the update, hmmm took it easy and it was a good win. Should boost my team morale.

I want to keep TIE untill I play Kamran next time but I'm afraid that my net run rate will be worse than others going for promotion

Are bots really crap? Or can they play well?

Straight Bat
8th June 2007, 09:18
depends what type of team it was before hte owner left. Until it gets a new owner it'll still have the same team so rarely some can be good but normally they are pushovers.
