Hattrick site (http://www.hattrick.org)
It's a football version of Battrick (well it was invented before battrick I think)
I just signed up for it in the England Yorkshire league, decided against a Pakistan league because I want to be able to watch my matches this time.
So does anyone play it already or is anyone signing up?

i might sign up. when does new league start
Straight Bat

no idea - waiting for them to accept me.
they say it takes a week though so you should just put your name down anyway.
oh and you can scope the forums on it anyway on it without having a team and just waiting for one - seems pretty complicated. you get youth pulls and youth academys. you have some type of challenges to do before you get to change formations and stuff.
got a lot to find out when i get a team

If you like Battrick, Hattrick is definately worth playing as well, I've been there about 15 seasons now. Unlike Battrick you must sign up to play in the country you're living in though, they'll check IP addresses and ban you team if you, for instance, sign up to play in Pakistan but you're living in England.

I got some advice for hasbeen and iz when they sign up.
First thing you should do is complete all those easy challenges cos they give you money. With that money you should buy a coach with poor leadershi but passible coaching skills. Will set you back about 53k.
Then you should see who in your teams best for outfield job and put em in your team and you'll find that you have no keepers, you should buy 2 of those from the market and then with any left overs maybe buy a couple of squad players to strengthen the team.
Straight Bat
19th May 2007, 16:54
Anyone else got a team yet?
My match is tomorrow at 18:00pm against a guy who is undefeated in their last 6 competitive matches and is currently second and gunning for promotion.

In the 49th minute of the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Jan-Melis Selle dashed through, knocking home 6 - 0 for Losing. That made three goals for Jan-Melis Selle and he was marked down for the hat trick.
Make that six!
Straight Bat
20th May 2007, 17:25
sohrabslegends's Andrew Train's long shot really ought to have found the net in the 68th minute, but it fell just wide of the target.

Straight Bat

FU*K 7-0 down. atleast the other guy in relegation battle is losing, but he'll have a really better Goal difference than me.
I play him in a few matches time and hopefuly the gap between me and he will stil be 3 points
Straight Bat

How long does it take you to get your team? I just validated my email and it says I'm on a waiting list. Battrick is so much simpler. You just register then you have a team.
Straight Bat
23rd May 2007, 10:29
yeah it takes longer on this. It took hasbeen longer than me I think. It depends on how many users there are in your region, if there are a few sapre team in the region you registered for then you should get yours fairly quick.
I reckon there will be. There wouldn't be many people who would play HT who are from Aus.
One problem I had was when I tried to choose "Australia (Oceania)" it wouldnt let me. So I had to choose "Oceania (Oceania)". :S
hasbeen

Straight Bat

I already got a friendly for today so I'll play you next week.
whatever you do, dont make a youth academy. Itl get you bankrupt.
And do all those challenges - quick way to get some money.
Go buy 2 goalies cos it's rare for a new team to get good goalies.
Fire your current coach and get one with passable training skills and crap leadership skills

you know how battrick has nets to train youngsters, do hattrick have nets? or are they all trained in one group?
Straight Bat
24th May 2007, 13:05
all trained in a group I think, but those who dont play matches get a bit more training so thats why I play 20 year olds in matches and have teens who are passable solid and they get most training. And if u wana train scoring then buy loadsa young strikers - im training playmaking so im buying yound midfielders

Straight Bat

all season, so all my midfielders and wingesr get trained for it. It takes 6-7 week for everyone to pop in it

Straight Bat
24th May 2007, 21:43
Sean, read the rules and see if you can get the jist of it for a week or 2.
Got my team today. Got no bloody idea what to do. ANy help?
Straight Bat
26th May 2007, 14:26
First things first, read the rules!! Honestly they help a lot.
Then, whatever you do, don't spend any money on the youth academy.
Then... go see what type of players you have. THe minimum skill for your players should be passable, see if you can make a team. If not then go into the market and buy some cheopos to fill in for you.
Oh and do the challenges, easy way to gain money.
hasbeen
26th May 2007, 15:04

Fannys Nightclub Utd - The Ozzie Bombers
View game: HT Live
Date: 27/05/2007 at 04.00
MatchID: 119432157
Arena: The Dancefloor
The match is in progress, 16 minutes of the second half have been played.
Clear skies welcomed the 2143 spectators who had made their way to The Dancefloor. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Nightclub. The following players took the field: Parson - Hanari, Mundine, Hengzhi, Anderson - Lacey, Beattie, Nahumaruri, Stephenson - Griffin, Saban.
Bombers started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Portal - Bryant, Caceres, Allen, Croker - Thornton, Waugh, Megaw, Crutchley - Betts, Bradfield.
It was an obvious ambition of Nightclub to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. After 2 minutes, Bombers put themselves up by 0 - 1, as Barry Allen finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. The home crowd was not impressed when Willie Bryant came in from the right, shooting hard to score in the 14th minute. Bombers were now up 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Bombers dictated play, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
At 50 minutes into the game, Nightclub's Avele Stephenson deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 1 - 2.
GOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Bombers's Daniel Crutchley somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Frederick Bradfield, who struck for 1 - 3.
[Expand!] Fannys Nightclub Utd - The Ozzie Bombers (88 minute(s) played) 2 - 3 [Delete]
84 minutes: The home crowd brightened somewhat when Fumitake Hanari scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the numbers 2 to 3.
About to win my first match!!!
And I've won! 3-2. What a game!
But that team is 2nd last. I'd get absolutely pounded against the top teams.
Nightclub, bringing their ball possession to 58 percent, dominated the battle.
Ma Hengzhi performed admirably for Nightclub. Rocco Beattie turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Bombers player was without a doubt Cody Thornton. Jaime Portal on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 3.

113 punters turned up at theatre of dreams, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for brummy. Starters: Stupić - Chesterton, Young, Honkoop, Zaal - Korzilius, Freeman, Hutchison, Broadacre - Bogaert, van Delft.
Bombers decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Shu De - Bryant, Caceres, Allen, Croker - Thornton, Waugh, Megaw, Crutchley - Betts, Bradfield.
Bombers's Daniel Crutchley was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Cody Thornton managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 1 in the 11th minute. The crowd was on its feet in the 12th minute, as brummy's Remy van Delft found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. In the game's 18th minute, brummy's Blair Broadacre fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Blair Broadacre for diving. Bombers will have to do without Frederick Bradfield for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 21 minute mark. He was substituted by Nakia Farnham.
