will he leave arsenal?? he must be getting a little tired at arsenal, they do well domestically but surely he wants to look at the bigger stage. It has been confirmed that he is Barcelona's major summer target - in fact they are going all out to get him - fee rumoured to be £35m - Joan laporta himself said in an interview that henry was the one player he would break the bank for and that he would have to sign henry this season simply looking at his age.
wow - if we can get henry what an attacking 3 of etoo, henry and RONNYD!

only places higher than barca would probably be Ac milan other than that i cant think of one - MAN UTD - lollllllll - keep targeting the muppets.
AJ - henry must be realistic after all chelsea have endless funds and they will probably dominate domestically for a while - henry could start afresh at barca and would be ideal
LOL@Jameel - aim higher

AJ - henry is a winner - will he want to settle for an FA cup winners medal here and there and then finishing second in league all the time

AND i doubt it he will want to play in the Italian League - he didnt have the best of times there! He is suited to a faster league like the Prem or La Liga imo

yep - spot on there - i highly doubt he would join chelsea - and then man utd - LOLLLLLLL ok now on to madrid - unlikely as ronaldo thinks of himself as the big dog upfront so wouldnt appreciate henry - he was in a strop over owen!!! imagine with henry - also perez will change his style under saachi as director - they will buy ypounger and cheaper - to me that leaves barca

Chelski = Mourinho wudnt want him - I dont think Mourinho would want a truly world class striker (Shevchenko, Henry etc etc) cos then the team ends up relying on that player BUT when he is injured they would struggle. Instead he plays Drogba BUT if he is injured then Gudjohnsen does the trick -
Manure = Cant afford him
Real Madrid = Maybe a few years ago when Zizou was the boy BUT he is coming to the end of his career now WHILST RonnyD is the best at the moment

PSV Eindhoven have confirmed Mark van Bommel will leave the club but are uncertain if the midfielder has agreed to join Barcelona.
Van Bommel's contract at Philips Stadion expires in the summer and he has long been expected to leave the Dutch champions on a free transfer.
Barcelona have been perennial favourites to sign the 28-year-old, despite interest from the likes of Milan, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Catalan outfit's president Joan Laporta claimed over the weekend that van Bommel has agreed, in principle, to move to Camp Nou next season.
But while PSV have now acknowledged van Bommel is quitting Eindhoven, they are unsure who the talismanic midfielder will join.
"He hasn't confirmed anything himself yet," PSV president Rob Westerhof told Sky Sports News.
"I suppose that he will be going either to Barcelona or one of the other big European teams that have been mentioned.
"It's a pity but I can understand him. He is 28 and he will make a lot of money but we hope that he will come back three or four years later to PSV.
"He's definitely leaving, that's what he has told us. It's not a matter that he wanted to leave but, from his perspective, he can play for one of the great European teams.
"We will know in a few weeks whether the Barcelona story is true or not."
Westerhof also confirmed that Manchester United have been watching van Bommel and outlined the qualities the Holland international will bring to his new club.
He added: "I saw Alex Ferguson watching him and several other clubs.
"You never know how far that has gone as his manager has been very quiet all the time about which way it's going.
"Van Bommel is a player who would be of interest to any top club. He makes goals, controls the midfield, is dangerous and is a little bit of a nasty player in a positive way, like Roy Keane."
manure may get him - he is a bosman

henry would be a luxury - AJ lets just say barca are about to sign a £70m sponsorship deal with the chinese government so barca will have a shirt sponsor for the first time in their history - but that is over 5 years but paid out as a LUMP SUM - so barca have the funds now

henry would make ur team 100 times better than it is now!
Just listen to what Arsene Wenger has said this evening on BBC 5Live..
Basically, he calls the Champions League a 'Surprise Cup'...and that he is not impressed by certain teams that have progressed.
He also admits that the PREMIERSHIP is his PRIORITY...not the Champions League
So, what would Thierry Henry make of that!!!
Jameel
6th May 2005, 18:23
The only reason the Premiership is his priority is because he hasn't got the tactical touch to guide Arsenal past the quarter final stages of the Champions League.

The season aint finished yet. If you think you've already won against Liverpool and Everton then you might be in for a surpise.
p.s. I don't really care about finishing second. United aint used to aiming so low.
As long as we win the FA cup i'll be satisfied.
And if you want to compare Wenger and Fergie look at their recent records in competitive matches.
Fergie is unbeaten against Wenger in 7 out of the last 8 meetings. He maybe past it, but he's still good enough to get one over your manager.

so much for the richest club in world. even chelsea are putting united to shame. for me this has been a poor season for arsenal coz we havent won the league. The F.A wud be a mere booby prize.
Fergie is unbeaten against Wenger in 7 out of the last 8 meetings
and whats the head to head record?
arsenal dont have the spending power of a chelsea or a united yet still compete near the top of the league!

Yeah, Chelsea hve put United to shame, but haven't they done the same ot the "invincibles"?
Like I said, I would be satisfied with the FA cup, but not happy. The only reason it would be worth anything is because we would beat Arsenal in the final. Anytime United fail to win the league it is considered a failure, not just by the fans but by the pundits as well.
I don't know their head to head record. But since you said Fergie was past it, I thought I''d give you the recent record, just to show that Fergie can still get one over Wenger.
About spending power, Arsenal got Reyes for something like 17 mill in the middle of last season. From what I hear, they've got more money to spend this summer, so that can no longer be used as an excuse.

He was simply unstoppable in Euro 2004 and the last world cup.

henry not performing? i hate this BS - france themselves were in decline - they had rubbish roger lemerre who was an army officer in charge and who had no tactical sense. He destroyed their set up - even zidane was struggling somewhat in that formation
Geordie Ahmed
15th May 2005, 17:14

Lets NOT forget he was playing as a winger for many years until Wenger converted him into a striker so that is a very good record. also im not sure what the stats are BUT i bet he would have set a lot up aswell
Waqar's inswinging yorker
15th May 2005, 17:23
that is true but lets forget about that GA - lets just look at certain instances and let not take into account the coach was tactically inept, also lets forget the fact that even zidane struggled under those tactics, also lets forget the whole side looked average

the same Henry who has 8 goals vs MAnu and 10 plus goals against each Chelsea and Liverpool.same Henry who has 28 goals in 70 internationals for France(and he is consisdered as a flop and on the other hand Owen having 29 goals in 70 games playing as out and out as a striker isnt a flop and many consider him as second best international striker for England) including those matches at the start of his career where he didnt play as striker and was a midfielder/winger..........same henry who was Man of the match of Euro 2000 final same Henry who scored a semi final goal in 2000 Euro cup.............who scored in confederations cup final vs CAmeroon..........same henry who has ripped thru Italian defences ..........same Henry who creates more goals than he scores.........

his stats dont do justice to his stats.........his contribution on the field is just immense remember the match vs Germany which france won 3-0 and Trez scored twice Henry created both ran pass the defenders and all Trez did was tap the ball in......Henry had no goals in that match
