both irshad and yasir ali are very raw bowlers. both need alot of schooling thru the cricket academy and "A" team tours b4 making the step up!

I would not have Irshad in the squad now even Woolmer has said that he is crap, I have been saying that for ages, I would rather have someone like Fazl-e-Akbar who is a brilliant new ball bowler and has a very good inswinger even with the older ball, he just had one bad game against India and everyone seems to have written him off.

Top selection AJ. I don't think Akthar will last few years. More like few tours.. England tour might be his last tour. This is where he will loose his brain again. Rana should be in teh squad in place of Akthar

He has been in the top 3 wicket takers in domestic cricket for god knows when. I dont know why the hell do you rate Irshad just because he can bowl at 85mph news flash he is the crapiest bowler there is currently, I can name 10 other bowlers who were far more effective in the domestic season that just lapsed. Domestic performances should count. You have heard from someone that Irshad is quick that doesnt mean he is good, I have a couple of clips of Irshad bowling somewhere if I can Ill upload them then the whole PP can see how crap he is.

i never said irshad was a superstar. however hs has raw pace which shud be schooled with other skills thru "A" team tours etc....!

s nazir is a bowler who shud be given a chance by pakistan thou!

Big deal if he has raw pace, Sami is prime example of a bowler who had pace but is rated as a below average bowler in international cricket even though he posesses abilities like late swing, on contrary Irshad is nothing but a front on ugly action with raw pace, no reverse swing or conventional swing that I saw just erratic stuff, he did beat batsmen for pace some 1 out of 100 times when he got his line and length right due to a fluke. Fazl-e-Akbar has 700+ first class wickets at the age of 24 if that aint great then what is. Do you know the match in which he was bowling against India he had blisters on his feet but he still bowled unlike Shoaib who went inside the pavilion to take a chill pill. Fazl-e-Akbar remains one of the best new ball bowlers in Pakistan, his action is pretty much like Kasper and pace is around 80mph to 85mph. I recorded some clips from Patrons trophy this year in which Irshad and Fazl are both there but I cant find the CD on which I burned all my clips (before formatting the PC) as soon as I find them Ill provide visual proof of my claims.

1stly i think sami is a ***** bowler full stop. ur not an irshad fan fine. i blv he needs some working with and can be a sucess. thats just my opinion. i know raw pace isnt enuf. u need guile, swing and some intelligence to sucseed at highest level.

as far as fazal-e-akbar goes hes just a martin bicknell/mike smith bowler... in regional game he will blast bowlers out for fun in tests/odis hes not gud enuf to do that!

Have you given Fazl-e-Akbar enough opportunity at the top level to make a statement like that, he was great in domestic cricket from the moment he stepped into it and was drafted into the side as an 18 year old, surely 9 out of 10 bowlers who are drafted in at such a young age fail and he did at the age of 24 he was just given one opportunity. Give him opportunities and if he still fails then you can call him Bicknell/Smith. Secondly England's selection system is hardly anything to look at, they select players on a very odd formula which has never been understood by anyone but English selectors.
