You all know my reaction this morning to the loss, I was pretty happy with the performance and was dissappointed with the result, but nonetheless I was very proud and very appreciative of the effors and other then that I had nothing to complain about other then a few rusty shots! I was defenitly in the bouyant mood and was trying my best to cheer you guys up as well, though in mose cases I did fail.
So I did go off to university and to my surprise I met none of my Pakistani friends today, rather I met 5 of my Indian mates, as soon I met them I gave them a congrats and a handshake, which brought a nice smile on thier faces and they tapped me back saying that was one great game, and I thought Pakistan had won it but we got it in the end. They were very very appreciative of the Pakistan performance and we ended up talking about the match for 4 hours! They were very impressed by the captaincy of Pakistan captain, and bowlers such as Gul and Afridi and Misbah's ul Haq miracle batting! They defenily want to see him come to India come November.
For a bulk of the time they were busy telling me how great the Pakistan was and that made me even more proud of my team. I had said this morning I will take this loss with grace and went to univeristy in a cheerful mood and I was recieved very well and I myself felt very warm giving them congrats and getting compliments about my team in return and that made me very very happy. Overall, today was a good day for me, the loss did not put me down one single bit, rather it lifted me up to see my team fight back with grace and spirit.
The lowest point in the day for was not the loss, rather it was the reaction to the loss by some people here, mainly the wrist slitters and one-player bashers who ruined the mood for the most part. Pakistan after putting up a great performance throughout the tournament should make us really proud, because as far as I know, the Indians were really impressed from Pakistan and that can only be a good thing.
Wish you all the best, till the next match, FimanAllah.
