Muhammad Ali - Not only was he the greates boxer BUT he was an entertainer. also i admire the fact that he stood up for what he believed in. it wud have been easy for him to go to Vietnam but that wasnt Ali
Alan Shearer - obvious isnt it. arguably the greatest striker to have graced the premiership. also he made a massive sacrifice by joining the club he loves, he could have went to man-utd and won trophies and earned a lot more money BUT it wudnt have felt right.

Beat me to it. I was gonna put that. He is the greatest English/world striker of the 90s and a great servant to his beloved Newcastle.

Muhammad Ali - Without a doubt he was the greatest. Its not just the fact that he was one of the best fighters ever but his charisma and style (which should really have been very annoying) were his most endearing qualities. Can you name another man who spent most of his life calling white peopel devils and they loved him for it??
Diego Maradonna - There have been other great footballers like Pele and Zidane but Maradonna had that 'Afridi quality' of keeping you glued to the screen. When Maradonna was playing you just had to watch and he was mesmerising. He is the main reason i support Argentina and have even bough an Argentina top as well :D
Jahangir Khan - Although i never saw much of him, the guy was absolutely awesome!

Jack Nicholas was a great sporting hero for me. Though i haven't seen much of him he is still the best golfer that has ever existed in the professional game. A true legend.

Jahangir Khan.. dont need to describe why.he is the greatest ever PAkistani athlete/sportsman
Jansher Khan achieved almost same as JAhangir and in come cases even more but was overshadowed by Jahangir Khan's charisma........
Thierry Henry..Absolute awesome........he is the reason i started following club football games after his fantastic goal against Manu in FA cup Semifinal....after watching that goal i said WOW...what a player...commentator described that as Have a look at the one of the greatest goals u will ever see on this ground ....thats brilliant sheer brilliance....absloutely unsaveable
Muhammad Yousuf........won the world championship snooker in 1994 in Johannesburg and PAkistan cricket team was there to support him......his victory flourished the game in PAkistan...ab to galli galli main snokker clubs hain KArachi main.....
Shahbaz Ahmed & Sohail Abbas
both brilliant players but Shahbaz was somethign else........scored and created chances like HEnry does.....Sohail Abbas goal scoring machine played with most of the times very avearge and underachieving Pakistan hockey team......
Pete Sampras....just awesome he is the reason i statred watching TEnnis regularly.....14 time Grand slam winner......his game had everythign......Power,Swing,Spin,great serves, volleys,Stamina

shahbaz was out of this world as a player. lost count of how many player of the tournament awards he won. simply a magician.
i was once on a flight from London where this German guy was sitting next to me and asked me where i was from. when i said Pakistan he almost jumped out of his seat and goes yeah???? you know shahbaz??? he was the best hockey player we will ever see this and that ... thats how much of a player he was.

Muhammad Ali....... Normally boxing does for looks what a cheese cake does to dieting. But Ali singlehandedly rearranged the face of boxing (for the better) forever whereas its normally boxing that does it to boxers (for the worse). Plus he just looked unbeatable in his prime. He was so exciting to watch. Such quick reflexes, intelligence, athleticism u name it. PLus his gob.
Samiullah..... THe flying horse was an awesome sight back in the day. Speed, skill, aggression he had it all.
Jahangir Khan...... For me hes a bigger name than anybody else from PAK when it comes to international sport. THe whole nation is proud of him.
Zidane.... Muslim, numero uno, all time great :D
Ronaldo..... I didnt see Pele live in his prime but i did see maradona and he was nowhere near the class of ronaldo of 1994/95. THat was before defenders broke his knees simply cos they couldnt cope with the phenomenon.
Maurice Greene..... Great athlete, great character.
Ivanisevic....... He was so original. He was always true to himself off court and on court. Never played percentage tennis. It was always all or nothing.
Becker..... SAme as Ivanisevic
Safin... SAme reason as Ivanisevic combined with the zidane factor. PLus WOW WHAT A TALENT.
MIchael JOrdan.... He was called Air JOrdan for a reason.
Lomu.... HOw can a 275 lbs man run 100m in 10.8 secs is beyond mre but HE DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then there was the awesome power, skill and personna.
Tyson..... THis guy was VICIOUS in his prime. A caged animal in the ring and an animal out of it too sadly.
Jack DEmpsey....... Everything that TYson wanted to be.
Alberto Tomba.....Anybody that can get me interested in a winter sport has to be outstanding which he was.
Agassi........THat return of his is prolly the most awesome shot in tennis by anybody ever.
Shahbaz senior..... GReatest ever hockey player in the world.

LOL@saj - also srt i guess as well
Ali because of his ability to come back so many times when people were counting him out. Also in an era where the Heavyweight scene had some real "monsters" in there, such as Ken Norton, Foreman, Frazier and Shavers.
Maradon for simply being the most gifted footballer I have ever seen. His trickery, skill, ball control, dribbling, strength left you in awe. He scored some of the best goals you would ever see. Its sad when you see the man now.
Jahangir for being "Mr Squash". A true legend who was at the top of his sport for a number of years. Any tournament that he was taking part in, it was almost a certainty that he would win 1st prize.

Thats a sad tale for british sport then!
Darts is NOT a sport - its just a bunch of fat guys throwing a needle at a board (i admit it takes some skill BUT do not call it a sport)
George Best??? Are you having a laugh?? this guy is the ultimate tw@t. yes he was an immensely gifted footballer BUT as a human being i hate him with a passion. he is an alcoholic who abused the 2nd, 3rd and many other chances he had. he was given a kidney BUT he abused that and there are not many worse acts than that
