If you could choose Pakistan to be as good as they are now (one of the top 5 teams in the world) in either soccer or cricket, which would you choose?
Would you swap a Shoaib Akhtar for a Pakistani Ronaldo? Would you swap an Afridi for a Gerrard? Would you swap an Akram for a Figo?
If over the next 20 years Pakistan dropped down the cricket tables and intead rose to the top 10 of the football tables would you be upset by it?

It would be amazing if Pakistan became good at football as it a much more global game. One things for sure there will be some crowd trouble, especially with the pakistanis in england.

Since I love football more i would say football, i would love it if Pakistan were a top footballing nation - i cannot see it happening unless some serious time and money is poured into the grassroots.

syed and gash, i said u can only choose one to be successful in. So if u choose football then we will lose our test status and become the Argentina of football but if you choose cricket then thijngs will stay as they are.

Football. Even though i love cricket more, it would be better for pak as a whole to be a top footballing nation because football has a wider audience than cricket would ever do. Therefore more people would be aware of Pakistan as a country and it would be good for the country financially too.
They wont have any problems getting hold of footballs either :D

I'd have to go for football too.
When i used to watch football, i'd watch matches where my team wasnt even playing but i cant see myself ever watching cricket if Pakistan hadnt been such a strong cricketing country!!

I personally have a dislike for football..I cant even understand how anyone can like it..
There is no proper result to the match..for so many minutes there is no side actually having the edge. One team can play so good for like 89 minutes, but then in the last few minuted the other crap team scores a goal either by accident or fluke, and then they win..
The ball goes one way then the other...
Cricket on the other hand is an exciting game...each delivery can change the course of a game...very interesting..
And I doubt that any international footballer can provide as much entertainment as our CRICKETING Afridi or what Wasim/Waqar provided.

Dude if there was a pile of poop comment of the week you would win :D :D :D
What about cricket matches that go on for 5 days YET there is no result?? DONT you think that is a tad more annoying than a 90 minute draw???
Also if a team dominates like you say BUT loses then all i can say is "no good having possesion if you dont put the ball in the net"
Just because YOU DONT like football doesnt mean that it has faults, i Love Football and Cricket BUT football is better imo.
Also like WIY said RonnyD is to football what Afridi is to cricket BUT RonnyD is more consistent.

In Afridi's defence, it is easier to be consistent in football because in cricket, one mistake and thats it.

Cricket for sure
Let the Europeans and South Americans dominate football, we dont need to be like them. If Pakistan become a useless cricket team and loose their Test status, it would extremely depressing - even winning the Football WC wouldnt make up for it
