;)

And to celebrate my first post, here is a small puzzle. In known history there is a place on earth where the sun light reached for a short while and has never subsequently reached again. perpetual darkness then sun light and since perpetual darkness. What or where is this place?

I already gave one clue Umar comeon, its not really that difficult:

clue 1. Serpents fight in the land of star gazers

okay I will give another one:

Clue 2. Tyrant's soldiers find wet graves chasing innocent lambs.

there you go...and I reckon I have given it away with that now..

Schiller
13th February 2005, 02:02
well mec the second confuses further
but heres my guess going by the first

that place where Hazrat musa parted the sea in egypt or some sea, i think red sea.

would that be it?

Sage
13th February 2005, 02:07
That's definitely the answer, Umar.

Don't know why the second clue confused you, it completely gives it away.

Schiller
13th February 2005, 02:10
you knew it too?
yar my history is quiet pathetic and i forget it more so

with the first i was quiet sure but didnt want to risk it

Schiller
13th February 2005, 02:12
what is the second clue about? i am not familiar with it at all

Sage
13th February 2005, 02:15
The Pharoah's army chasing Musa (A) and company into the sea, and having the walls of water collapse on to them.

Schiller
13th February 2005, 02:17
ah ok, didnt get the lamb part.
but the first i was quite sure but not enough

My mother is also really tickled by these ancient stuff. I don't like them much. Don't like travelling as well.

Geordie Ahmed

i would like to visit various places arounf the world! the travelling itself isnt appealing to me!

MecnunK
13th February 2005, 04:44
You got it Umar..it is the red sea parted by Hz.Musa (ai). The sea is still there to this day and as far as I know it's never been parted again so I would be correct in thinking that that is the only known place on earth where sunlight hit once and has never touched again ;)

And Sage is right, I did give it away with the second clue but I was forced to...

innocent lambs = the righteous led by the shepherd hz.Musa, a biblical usage I think.

Schiller
13th February 2005, 05:50
Well sufi

the second threw me off further instead of helping me.

But it was a good exercise
the only reason i wasnt sure was that shouldnt sunlight reach thru water anyway? so in a way that cant really count but im not very well versed as to what exactly happened

Well all the ships that have sunk, Titanic for example, yes it is a 'place', isn't receiving any sunlight as well. You brainwasher, stop it or you'll end up in my dishwasher. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons6/62.gif

MecnunK
13th February 2005, 08:21
No Entra a ship is not a place IMO. Titanic even if you consider it a place received light plenty of times before it sunk, the bed of the red sea obviously did not in known history.

Umar, light doesnt penetrate sea that far. Seawater absorbs it pretty much and beyond the light zone it is midnight darkness.

Sufi

My mistakes on a few pt, I had forgotten the translation by a mile and always thought it was shallow sea that had parted,
for some reason and I should be Lynched for this.

Now if you had not brought it up I would probably not have inquired further and here is the verse:

Then We told Musa by inspiration: "Strike the sea with thy rod." So it divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain.

apparently the description says it all

So a thanks to you for this one.

p.s Yusufali's translation: Surah Al-Shuara, ayat 63
