With India bagging the one day series with one match still to play, how do you think Pakistan will cope in the longer version of the game in the 3 test series?

probably 1-1. I suspect there will be problems with light unless the venues are all in south which might be little better. I doubt they will start the tests at 8:30 like they did in an ODI where the light gets bad at 4:15 pm. But one problem is who will be bowling for Paksitan and will the bowlers stay fit

3-0 to India. Our batsman can't bat out long periods with exception of they YOYOs and our bowlers can't get their batsman out regularly.
People with the 3-0 prediction to Pakistan also had paksitan winning the series 5-0. INTERESTING.

I said it before and will say it now. I knew India will beat us either 5-0 or 4-1 in ODI and in tests they will win 2-0.
More humiliation awaits us..we are crap at everything.

wow people not very confident eh ...
i think we have a much better shot in the tests than in the one day series.
butt, hameed, yk, moyo and malik will all score huge versus india and i think we clearly have the fast bowling advantage over them.
as long as out keeping isn't disastrous .. i think we will be very competitive in the test series.

2 - 0 India
India will have to play really poor to allow Pakistan to win a test..its test cricket guys..test of abilities and mental strength..apara from Moyo, Akhtar and to some extent Younis khan..I dont see anyone having those traits...and good boy captains rarely succeed in test cricket...

i suspect India will win but Pakistan drew 1-1 here last time with just as weak a team, if not weaker. Maybe Shoaib will pull a 4-25 spell and bowl us to a win in one of the game.

India is clear favorite, pakistan's batting does'nt look good.am just thinking how shoaib akhtar is going to bowl in test matches when hes getting tired after 4 overs in one dayers,he might break down and pakistan will have a nightmare... for that reason they should go with 5 bowlers ..just get arafat in .

I would like to change my original vote which was a 3-0 victory to India, with an innings defeat in each.......
I would now like to add the following changes:
- Innings defeat in each and plus 200-300 runs
- Tendulkar first to reach 401*
- Sreesanth to be MOS
- Dravid to accumulate more runs in each game then the whole of the Pakistan team put together in each innings.
- Shoaib Akhtar to get 'injured' during first day of first test
- Faisal Iqbal redeems himself by now making banana milkshake rather than lassi to help the team become more agile on the field
- Kaneria concedes 300 runs before he takes a wicket, unfortunately, his name wont appear in the wicket column but, the wicket will come via a run out from KANERIA with help from KAMRAN AKMAL

Whats with this such low level of confidence . Test cricket is entirely different from ODIs . Bowlers are the key for the tests and pakistan is the better bowling side . So it won't be such a one sided affair . Or u guys are trying to be under dogs .
This early submission is very boring .C'mon guys ,lets light up the series . Other wise what is the fun in the so called series which is reffered as bigger than Ashes .

What about Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Dhoni, Jaffer, Karthik????? Again, they have better batting line-up which can handle Pakistan bowlers very well but the concerning thing is we havenīt got batsmen who can even handle Sreesanth (except Yousuf and Younis) :O :O ............ How can we compete with them when we have a wicket-keeper who isnīt willing to hold onto a lollypop even???? Imagine if Kamran Akmal drops Rahul Dravid in a Test Match :> .... Spin will be a crucial factor on Indian tracks and they clearly have an edge over Pakistan in spin department..... Even Tendulkar is a better spinner than Danish Kaneria.. :| ..... Anil Kumble can cause Pakistan some big problems.

2-0 to India.

India will have to play horribly badly and Pakistan out of their skins for Pakistan to win the series. They'll have to play out of their skins to even draw the series. We have a very good bowling line-up, which is as good as Pakistan's in India, and a batting line-up which is clearly superior. But stranger things have happened in cricket and Pak are no minnows.

Why are you guys so pessimistic. Yousuf/Younis can bat all day against Indian bowling. But If these two fail , that's it.

Losing a Test series at home to S.A on spinning surfaces does not augur well for the series in India.
Nevertheless if Pakistan re-discovers some spark, selects their team more intelligently and has some luck they may yet make a competitive series of it. But India certainly start as favourites.
First Test match is at Delhi, where the surface is usually very helpful to spinners. So the biggest favour Shoaib Malik can do for his team is win the toss and bat first, if it is a typical Delhi pitch.
The other thing is, if the surfaces are dry, then reverse swing may be a factor, something Pakistan must consider when selecting their team.

so true but also remember that we were without moyo for the first test match and we were fresh out of a 20/20 tourney and players were not in test match mode...
we drew the second test match and the batting looked far more stronger once moyo was back in..
also salman butt finally looks in good form and both younis khan and moyo are in very good form which bodes well for our batting line-up...
the likes of misbah and malik will only get better with experience...so i dont think its all doom and gloom, but comparing it to the saffie series is plain wrong

Yes they will coz i dont think pakistani bowling attack have the fire power to dismiss strong batting line up twice in a test match..
except for shoaib (whose fitness still remains questionable) i dont see any other bowler who can trouble indian line-up..
- sohail is young bowler and havent seen much of him in tests..
- danish has been struggling off-late... and indians are better players of leg-spin (former legend imran khan says and i agree with him)
- umar has struggled on the whole ODI series
- Sami is back but we all know his stats in tests
- "young left arm spinner" :)) can be handy for me but i dont think malik will go in with two pacers and two spinners..
indians will definitely prepare dead pitches.. which will suit their spin duo of kumble and bhajja .. also it will suit their batsmen...
all in all bowlers have to win matches and pick 20 wickets in the game which doesnt seem very likely to me...
- Just an opinion

I voted 3-0 but my serious prediction is 1-0 to Pakistan. I think we will win in Delhi and then draw the next two games.
Our test bowling is tronger than India....the only bowler we have to worry about is Kumble really. India have good ODI bowlers like RP Singh but test cricket is about getting 20 wickets not containing the opposition. A few of their batsman look vulnerable against the short ball as well and we have the bowlers to bowl that.
Our batting is not as bad as people are making out. Butt is getting into some good form, Yousuf is still in terrific form and Younis is always a phainty walla against India. In a test batting line up....to have three batsman fire and a couple others chip in with useful contributions is normally enough.
My prediction:
1st Test- Pakistan win by 109 runs or 5 wickets
2nd Test- Match drawn (high scoring first innings, we bat out the last day)
3rd Test- Match drawn (high scoring first innings, India bat out last day and fall 2 runs short of target with 1 wicket in hand)

I agree with the bottom line of your prediction but I have some serious problems with details you have given:
1st Test - Pakistan win by 111 and not 109
2nd Test - Match drawn (but India bat out last day)
3rd Test - Match drawn (but Pakistan bat out last day)
Leaving the drawn matches aside, lets agree on the margin for the deciding first Test.
Na teri baat, na meri, Pakistan win by 110. Special discount for you! :)
