THAT IS UNLIKELY - he is only valued at £10m - likely to go to arsenal i heard and reyes to go to real for £12m
w4s1m786
15th May 2005, 02:16
owen on form is easly worth 20 million plus, the only reason he went for £8 million was coz he was in last year of contract
Geordie Ahmed
15th May 2005, 02:16
That is ridiculous - i wud love him to play for us BUT i wudnt spend that much on him - i would rather we spend that on SWP who would be more useful for us imo
Wasim im not surprised you made your typical wise cracks! Loads of players would want to join us - after Chelski, Arsenal, Man-u and Liverpool we are the next club players will want to join. they would love to play infront of 50000 supporters which only a handful of clubs can offer

Spurs are better than Newcastle full stop. How can Newcastle fans have the nerve to laugh at Spurs. Look at the table. It doesn't lie. Spurs have got a better squad and much better manager. I think they will do well next season.
Someone above said that Spurs are the laughin stock of football. I don't remember seeing their players kicking off with each other on the pitch. I don't remember any of their players callling their manager a liar in public and then sending gloating messages to the captain after he was sent on loan.
Also Spurs don't have French players who have mood swings after every match and complain about the manager.
Newcastle are the real laughing stock of football.
Geordie Ahmed
15th May 2005, 15:08
Ahhh is that so Jameel???
So your going to admit right now that Arsenal and Chelski are better teams than you - im not basing this just on this season BUT man-u have finished 3rd 3 times in the last 4 seasons!
You cannot control players having a fight especially when one of the is a raci$t tw@t like Bowyer but that incident has happened and been dealt with. hopefully Bowyer will be sold off in the summer
As for calling their managers liars, well we have seen what has happened to him - he is playing against Livingston and Dunfermline.
As for spurs not having a French player having mood swings, well they have an Irish player who crys like a girl when substituted (Robbie Keane ring a bell)
We have got players who have had massive egos and it is the fault of the previous manager who used the softly softly approach - which can work at times BUT then it can also kick you in the behind!
Wasim you are kidding yourself if you think are a bigger club than newcastle! first play a few games in Europe before you think you can match us - i have no problems admitting Chelski, Arsenal, Man-u, Liverpool are bigger clubs than us BUT i will not allow a spurs fan to think they are bigger -

ahem robbie keane dong go crying to press like robert does, first up when newcastle win trophy on a regular basis
Robert never went crying to the press about NOT playing either! the only thing Robert said to the press was that he feels we have had a cr@p season compared to the last one - which was honest - BUT very ill timed.
When we win on a regular basis??? remind me what trophies spurs have won on a regular basis???

spurs better than newcastle??? *** - how did u work that out - ok so spurs finished higher in league but newcastle were in turmoil early in season with manager leaving. If u seriously think spurs are better u need ur head checking.
Cmmon ppl - spurs are always linking themselves with big names - i remember rivaldo and they end up signing ppl like andy reid who isnt a bad player but not quite top class and not in someone like laurent robert's class either when he is playing.
Lets carry out a little analysis
robinson vs given= draw - although given would have slight edge as he has performed on consistent basis for a while now
pamarot vs carr= carr all the way, pamarot is a solid player but doesnt have the dimensions that carr brings to a defence in terms of leadership and attacking flair.
edman vs babayaro= is a close one - neither are exceptional, both are solid players- babayaro has more flair but edman is more solid at defending - so a draw
naybet vs boumsong= boumsong by a mile, he is the heir to the throne o desailly and blanc at international level, he was coveted by many clubs till g14 ruling. Naybet isnt a bad player - another of those solid players
king vs bramble= king - who has potential to be a world class player
ziegler vs robert = robert - who is mercurial but so were ppl like edmundo and u cannot discount class! ziegler is a talented youngster who needs time
carrick vs faye= for me i would take faye but carrick is one for the future - faye is a superb athlete like most african players and was tipped for the top a while back - interestingly he turned down spurs for newcastle
sean davis vs jenas= both very very talented youngsters! it is a tie for me
bowyer vs pedro mendes= mendes as i despise bowyer
shearer vs kanoute/keane= shearer - guy is a legend and still has it
dyer vs defoe= defoe who is very talented
to me that is 5-3 newcastle

plus spurs are a laughing tsock in europe nowadays - newcastle are seen with more respect - bobby robson's stint helped in that respect
WIY for spurs to be taken seriously in Europe they have to play their first
We have played 6 CL qualifiers (2 legs each side) AND we have played 18 games in the Champions League - that inclued beating Barcelona at Home - drawing against a diving Inter Milan side 2-2 at the San Siro - beating Feyenoord away - beating Juventus at home. when spurs accomplish half of that then come talk to me!
Also we have played 23 UEFA cup games in the last 2 seasons - probably take SPurs a decade to achieve that! since the Prem has started we have played a total of 41 UEFA cup games!
GA its not worth arguing with these spurs fans everyone knows newcastle is the bigger club!
Geordie Ahmed
15th May 2005, 17:18
Oh yeah and another thing - a major reason why spurs form improved dramatically was cos of a Geordie (Carrick) he has been magnificent for you lot
w4s1m786

we have quite few european cup games, we may have not too well but atleast we still got trophys to our name unlike u lot who only get near semis and end up choking like indians,
i thought the toon would have got him but you lot decided to go for average faye. potential wise spurs are alot better we have a very good young team with a few sighings we will challenge in top 5 next season

w4s1m786
16th May 2005, 00:42
at end of day newcastle havnt won anything for 50 bloody years they are average.
shearer would not get in our team hes way too slow maybe a few years ago but no chance anymore
jenas we dont need coz we have far too many central mids and plus carrick is better then him.
Carr is not the same player he was from a few years ago hes way to error prone these days
we got dawson and king who gonna be defencive partners for years to come so no need for average boumsong
erm robinson is way better than given so dont see him getting in our team
w4s1m786
16th May 2005, 00:45
in which way you think newcastle are better than uss coz squadwise we have a younger and better than newcastle
Geordie Ahmed
16th May 2005, 00:55
Jenas is in the england squad and has young player of the year so he is one of the best young players - he has had a average season BUT he has had to play out of position!
Boumsong is average??? :))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :)))
The guy plays for France whilst King isnt even 4th choice and dont get me started on Dawson - let him play a full international match before you compare him to JAB
Carr may not be the player he was BUT he would still walk into the spurs side!
Robinson is a class keeper no doubt BUT Given has been playing superbly for 7 seasons AND he has done it on the international stage!
Im not even going to argue Shearers case - He lost his pace years ago so he doesnt rely on that, his game is about his physical strength which he uses magnificently!
You keep saying Spurs have a young squad BUT so do we
Jenas = 22
Ambrose = 21/22
N'Zogbia = 18
Milner = 19
Taylor = 19
Ramage = 21
Boumsong = 25 (young for a defender)
Given = 29 (just entering his peak)
We have a reasonable amount of youngsters at the club! 4 or 5 experienced players and we will have a solid team - we are hopefully going to spend in the summer and next season we will be back on track!
This season there have been a lot of unfortunate incidents BUT hopefully they have all been dealt with!

stephen kelly is alot better than carr the guy can attack very well and he is alot better defender than carr and to boot he has also scored 2 goals this season in about 12 or 15 games.
look at the england centre backs rio ferdinand, sol campbell, john terry and carragher they are all older than king so ledders is gonna be up there soon enough he hasnt let england down before at all, boumsong aint a french stating 11 player hes a just a squad player so dont get 2 excited

just a squad player - france have had theri centre back pairing as givet/squilacci - infact in france there has been an uproar as to why givet was picked - reason is domenesch has ties with monaco so favours him rather than the ex auxerre player. When domenesch is sacked - boumsong will be no1 as he rightly should be. The guy was wanted by all the top clubs after he was impressive at rangers but as lpool had some trouble signing him they enforced a g14 ruling barring any other members from signing him - so barca couldnt get him, neither could ac milan or real, inter or even juve! lets just say they werent too pleased to have missed out on such a player/athlete - only doubt over him was his positional play but that has improved and as such has the makings of the next desailly or even laurent blanc
The only player from the spurs team that would walk into the newcastle side is defoe the rest are full of ****.

Newcastle United are expected to be asked to join the elite teams in Europe tomorrow - just a couple of days after finishing in their lowest ever placing in the Premiership.
For United - and Chelsea - have been invited to attend the meeting of the G-14 teams in Lisbon tomorrow when it is expected they will be asked to join Europe's most prestigious club organisation.
There are actually 18 teams in G-14, but the fact that United, Chelsea and eight other clubs have been invited to Portugal tomorrow with a view to increasing that number means that a European Super League is creeping that much closer.
Scotland's top two clubs Rangers and Celtic have also been invited to tomorrow's summit, but I understand they are only going to Lisbon in an observing capacity.
The meeting is private, with the main item of the agenda to "discuss key aspects of the future of international club football".
United were not prepared to discuss their invitation because they do not want to be seen to be jumping the gun.
But they have got to be delighted to be invited ahead of the likes of Everton, Aston Villa, Spurs, Middlesbrough and the other clubs who finished above them in the Premiership.
================================================
* Reports over the weekend that United had made a £16m bid to Real Madrid for Michael Owen and were considering a £20m bid were not correct.
* United announced today that there will be no increase in season ticket prices for next season.
================================================
Wasim whats your opinion on that? even the top european clubs know we are a bigger club than you lot :))

I see the manure bashing is getting to you eh!
So im not allowed to post in a thread that WIY has??? it just so happens that we have similar views on football.

erm since he has joined us we have improved even ur fellow geiordi GA said yesterday he has been on top form for us, so the question is have you been watching football this season or what
I am a fan of Carric - have been since he was at West Ham and he has had a good season for you lot BUT i prefer having Jenas in the team. Jenas is an england squad regular who has won the young player of the year NOT by fluke BUT cos he is a talented player.
I would have Faye over Carric BUT thats only cos Faye is completely different type of player - he is an genuine defensive midfielder, his style of football isnt pretty BUT it is well effective and that is what we need!
Wasim i think your the one that needs to watch football if you think Boumsong is average!
OH BTW why have spurs not been invited to the G14 meeting???

I never personally insulted anyone.
I never said you couldn't post in the same thread as him. You just seem to always to jump to each others defence. It gets irritating after a while.
Like in this thread. WIY has bashed Spurs just to defend you. Why would he normally want to bash spurs? Spurs and Barcalona are not rivals. Spurs haven't really won much over the last few years.
He's only doing it to please you.

the personal dog was an insulting remark
Anyhow froget that
So why did you post on this thread? what has Spurs Versus Newcastle go to do with you???
WIY is a football fan and he can comment on what he wants and instead of making petty childish remarks why dont you debate with some maturity!
If you must know WIY in a thread a while back said he thought Bobby Robson was overatted - not the actions of someone that wants to "please" someone!

Im not saying the super league will happen BUT there is a group G14 which the top european clubs are members of and we have been invited to their next meeting and indications show we may well become part of it.
I posted that to show you that in european circles we are one of the top teams - clearly we are no AC, Barca, Real, Chelski, Man-u etc etc BUT we are ahead of Spurs!

Newcastle United are expected to be asked to join the elite teams in Europe tomorrow - just a couple of days after finishing in their lowest ever placing in the Premiership.
you havent even been invited yet and you getting all happy for no reason when they do go and dance, if you think this shows ur a bigger club dont be silly we have a much better history then newcastle,
why donnt you list all the trophs have won, thats gonna be hard concidering they havnt even won more than a handful of trophys bunch of jokers

Of course he can comment on what he wants. I never said he couldn't. But the way he is posting, its obvious he's just trying to stick up for you. I posted in this thread just to give an opinion. He can do that as well of course, but like I said, it gets irritating when you can't have a debate with just one person without the other joining in every single time.
You calling me childish and him a genuine football fan is quite ironic. He's the one who always starts threads intended to wind Man Utd fans up. He never has anything constructive to say when it comes to discussing Man Utd. And often you join him in his childish bashing.
If anyones childish, its you.

I agree. He says I makes childish remarks, when he basically renames a club as "*****". It doesn't bother me at all, but I don't understand how he can call me childish.

Granted manure may be childish BUT using that word in the various thread doesnt change the point/s that is being made. if i was to replace the manure for man-u in every thread it wud not change my point at all. Also calling someone a personal dog and calling a club ***** is 2 different things!
You specifically made a post having a go at wiy for whatever issues you have with him where you made a personal dig!
Just cos we have views on football that are similar doesnt mean one is a skivvy etc etc

Yes, using the word is childish, i'm glad you agree. Whether it changes the points of the post is another matter. Using the word itself is childish.
And I never actually called you a dog. My words were:
"Couldn't agree more about the personal dog thing"
I was agreeing with the context of what Wasim said. I never called you a dog.
And calling someone a personal dog is not an insult, it is just a figure of speech. You've taken it the wrong way i'm afraid.

ok jameel i will spell out to u all the clubs i hate -
man utd
spurs
chelsea
those 3 with a passion in england - u dont know me personally so when i saw spurs discussion - i had to bash them.
GA and I do share a lot of the same footballing views - which isnt a bad thing, so if two ppl happen to share same views on football then one is a poodle??? *** - a great analogy - wasim and u are quite inept in ur analysis so r u his poodle?

noone is saying if you share same view in football you are his poodle i was saying WHEN YOU BUTTED IN FOR NO REASON AND WHEN I HAD ASKED GA a question thats why i said are you his poodle coz it does seem everytime GA is having DEBATE YOU JUMP TO HIS DEFENCE like POODLE WOULD

IRONIC - isnt it was - u say carrick is that highly rated - well can u tell me
where michael carrick was born? - a little clue - place has been mentioned in this thread
what club does michael carrick support? another clue, it is a prem club mentioned here but it aint spurs - infact they play in north east!
when asked at west ham what club he would love to play for - he answered?? a little clue here - same answer to question no2.
what club did michael carrick have a trial with before he joined spurs? again same answeras above
and interesting thing to note he wasnt deemed GOOD ENOUGH!
also was - it was just the questions u were asking were too much to pass up a response
LOL

listen wiy are you a lostcase or something ? coz when did i ever say or even deney that carric is a geordi or he even supports them so what if he does but the fact he play for tottenham, bergkamp and roy keane both supported spurs they play at man utd and the gooners so what is your point.
so what if he didnt make at newcastle but he sure is know better then their crap midfield,
wiy im sure you are a clever boy, know tell me who is in the ENGLAND SQUAD to face USA and Columbia??? heres a clue for you, he was a geordi fan now playing for spurs
Waqar's inswinging yorker

LOL - u said it all when u said USA nd coloumbia! - we will see if he is included in serious matches - to me it seems that a certain jermaine jenas gets picked ahead of him for the proper games. Carrick is very talented as is sean davis who i rate very very highly.
I just dislike spurs - i thing i am not doubting is they are building a very capable squad of mainly youngsters which bodes well for ur future. Midfield especially looks good - but ur best signing isnt even playing for u yet - that guy is teemu tainio who u took on a bosman from auxerre and will be yours next season - AND HE IS SOME PLAYER - finnish international - plays on right side of midfield an is supremely gifted - infact u beat the likes of man utd and lpool to his signing - i dont know how but i reckon u got in there first for him.
