I know the certain leader - BD only had 4 players playing in this series and now lara is ruled out - he is down to 3
gayle, rao and bradshaw and with gayle being an enigma he is really struggling.
The second placed man is nawaz - he also has 4 players playing in this series - shoaib malik,rana, rao and bradshaw.
There is a 299pt gap which nawaz must make up over 3 games to claim monthly win.
so
player matchups are
gayle vs s malik
and they both have rao and bradshaw.
Nawaz is in a solid position as for him if malik matches up to anything gayle throws his way - he has rana naveed as a the trump card and if he has a great series the 300 pts lead can come down very quickly.
Zorowar - 3rd place man who is 117 pts down on nawaz and 516 pts down on BD has the most number of players in the series out of the top five with 5 active players - he also lost out on brian lara. He has now got ramnaresh sarwan, salman butt, courtney browne, chris gayle and rana.
Zorowar can make a real attempt at first place through sheer numbers. He has the crucial factor of having 2 batters - but he needs sarwan and butt firing for him to make an impact as the keeper unless he gets a chance with bat wont do a great deal.
Jedi Knight is in 4th place but has only 3 players featuring now that lara has been ruled out - so he will struggle - he has shoaib malik, courtney browne and rana!
waheed - the dark horse of the top 5 IMO - lara's absence is a big blow for him IMO but he still has sarwan, gayle and bradshaw plus the likely inclusion of wavell hinds who is likely to bat in middle order which suits him so he can accumulate which will help waheed. he too has gayle as skipper so gayle is the key for many except nawaz who hope gayle fails.
the key players that will make or break ppl will be gayle as he is skipper for 3 of these sides - and he is especially key for BD. Nawaz has a great chance as long as sarwan and gayle fail and rana fires.
i hope to do analysis like this before each series of top 5 and sometims top 10 to give ppl an idea of what may happen - i am 11th btw but have alot of players featuring so am likely to move into top 6
