Remarkable man, enormously intelligent (Oxford grad), softly spoken, delightfully eloquent. Keeps a low profile, but makes appearances on radio/TV, but really delves into the meat of issues in the numerous lectures he gives around the UK and Ireland that, from what I've seen, attract a lot of english professor types as opposed to the usual 'preach to the converted' setup at many of these type of functions.

Have a read through these in your spare time, they are gold standard.
