Australia or India? These events can either galvanise a side or totally demoralise it. Which team will respond better, I wonder?

Perth was always going to be Australia's game. I am concerned that India might actually play Harbhajan there to prove a point, when they should replace him by a quick.
Adelaide might be a better test of how the teams are taking it.

I can only see one team winning it. AUSTRALIA. Aussie will be all fired up.

Then can still replace him with a quick bowler at Perth, and go with him at Adelaide.

A miracle will happen and Australia for once will get 10 appalling decisions against it (instead of the opposition), and India wins. :11:

Perth is getting back its bounce ... no chance for India ... and if they play Harby instead of an extra pacer, they will get further embarassed.

Australia was always destined to win Perth test.. with or without the events in Sydney. That is why Sydney Test was very important. If India had Zaheer and Sreesanth may be they would be more competitive. No chance with RP singh and Ishant sharma when you compare them with Tait, Lee, Johnson and Clark.

Though, after last test, I think both sides will come out fighting and trying to prove a point. Will the focus be on cricket or on umpiring?
It would be refreshing to see some good cricket with no monkey business. :13:

The Indian fast-bowling attack is just too injury-ridden/inexperienced to take 20 Australian wickets. The Aussies will also come very hard and try to hand out a real thrashing just to feel better about their self-esteem.

What's the WACA wicket like these days? Since I've moved to the US I've lost touch with the domestic scene.

The last three domestic Pura Cup games have seen the fast bowlers pick up a lot of wickets and a lot of teams falling for small scores.
3 scores of under 200 and 1 of under 100. It is definately getting back its bounce. Look out the Indians!!!

India must not loose at Perth. Dravid/ Sachin/ Laxman/ Dada needs to play their heart out in this match. Odds are heavily against the Indian side in this ground, and this gives them their best chance to make a match out of it.

Ya but the difference is Pakistan did not talk up their players whereas India were saying they have the batsmen to score some runs.
Pakistan with its useless batsmen have score more. :)))

Looks like Haydunce will be out because of his bum hammy. The boffins in charge could do two things:
1. shift Hussey to open and slot Stodge into the middle order
2. slot in Chris Rogers in a one-for-one swap at the top
It's a tough one - on the one hand Hussey has opened at Test level and is an opener by trade, and Stodge has scored a Test double at the WACA. Both have experience in the side and Stodge is a great fielder. On the other hand Rogers was a lock for Langer's opening slot until he got injured, and the WACA is his home ground. A one-for-one swap also provides less disruption to the batting order. But will the boffins in charge decide to risk a relatively new and untested combination at the top? The opening pair play crucial roles in the successes OZ have had in the past.
I'd be inclined to think they might play it safe and for for option #1, but I would personally like to see them go for option #2. I reckon Rogers has better potential than Stodge for the future.

Indian bowling line up is very very weak for a perth Pitch compared to Australia's so i think OZ has the luxury of doing some experiments.

Chris Rogers must be given a chance, he is in punishing form. Plus Rogers + Jaques will be something to see!

If India had a genuine spinner of the ball then they would be quite good at Perth. I am yet to see a spinner that doesn't enjoy bounce but they need to be able to turn on flat wickets where there would be no uneven bounce etc.

No it has not. India will anyway lose. We were looking for 2-0 before the series but it will be very easily 4-0 now. All these incidences doesnt take the credit from ozzies that they are far ahead of other teams. We any way know that Perth can never be India's fav hunting grounds. We were thinking of giving some fight in Sydney and Adelide. We achieved in one and we are happy about it. We were also happy that at some point Indians were in the winning position. We are just hoping that we can somehow pullout a draw in adelide.
Ozgod - Your thread doesnt have any meaning dude ....you will hammer us again:-(

India starts with serious disadvantage. Two of their frontline bowlers missing. Perth. Tait is coming back. I predict a quick death like Rogers predicted. That is one of the reason why Indians were fumed at Sydney's defeat. India had a chance to keep themselves alive in the series in Sydney which was cruelly ended by umpires. They simply took the charm away from the series. Now people are going to go through motions. India starts as a serious underdog with this bowling attack. Even batting is not going to click since Perth is going to be a totally alien surface for them. In Sydney.. upto day 4 .. all 3 possibilities were there. Over here.. from day 1 there seems to be only one possibility.
