My current favourite has to be Hicham El Guerrouj.

What a versatile and amazing athlete this guy is. 1500M, mile and 5000M, he's world class in all of them.

John Owens was the greatest athlete to have ever born in this world

remembered for his herculean effort in 1936 Berlin olympics whr he created the World record (still standing ) of winning 4 gold medals in one day which included 200 m race (an olympic record till 1960 olympcis) , 100 m world record , Long jump world record and 4*100 m relay race .

This performance of his becomes even greater if we consider tht just a few days bfore tht D-day of his he was suffering a severe back pain (caused due slipping on water as he was a professional sophomore) and was a doubtful starter for the olympics and only decided to compete in those but came home wid 4 gold medals .

Sadly after the olympics he still continued to suffer financial hardships as though most of the ppl wasnted to meet him but no one agreed to give him a job because he was Black.

This great legend passed away at the age of 66 due to lung cancer in 1980

Mary Peters - to come from N.Ireland and win a gold medal in a multi event and break the world record is unbelievable!

Michael Johnson is the greatest runner ever without a doubt in the sprints.

Always had a soft spot for Ato Boldon.

what u call the russian pole vaulter? she has made that event one of the most exciting to watch.
