A fresh start
The manager, the players and the fans of sohrabslegends can not wait for the first game of the season to begin (a FC game on Tuesday).
The previous season was one which should be easily forgotten. It was a season which saw a poor performance in both OD and FC leagues, add that to turmoil with poor finances at the start of the season and the manager was reportedly ready to quit; take a break to the bahamas for 7 weeks and then return with a new set of players. However the manager ,for some foolish reason, decided to stay on and is now ready to light a fire into the belly of the team.
To ear mark this new eagernace to win, the captaincy has been taken away from the old experienced Delgado and has been given to the new up and coming Ghias Islam. The fans have been promised by the manager a number 5 or 6 position in the OD league and a number 1 or 2 spot in the FC league. A reasonably succesfuly cup run lasting 3 or 4 weeks will also be the ground works to a succesful season.
However, not only will we see a change in the on field performances, there has been talk of a bizzare £40,000 cap in transfer market for the manager who is known to be keen to spend in the past. The aim of this rule is to help the manager get to know his team and effectively help the manager assign the correct nets to help develop his own players further. This short term set back of not spending money will allow the manager to be much more succesfuly when judging which players to buy and who can be developed further in the squad in the long term future.
Now all we can do as keen followers of this CC is eagerly await the new season to see just how many promises are kept...

Hari, it was a joke :D
Manager, Zeeshan8778, is very happy with the progress of his team, especially seeing his training after his recent trip to India and Pakistan. Zeeshan is excited about recently bought players and growing training players, along with his new youth inductant, Shakeel-Ul-Haq who looks very promising at the age of 17.
Zeeshan is also happy about his new FC and OD leagues as they look relatively easy. Zeeshan expects to finish first in his FC League, and after finish first last year in OD, expects to finish only 3rd or 4th because of recent promotions into the league.
GM Zeeshan wants to keep everything pretty much the same.
The manager is excited about Shahbaz Siddiq, the new bowler recently acquired in a 2 million dollar deal. While the kid's bowling skill isn't worth as much as it should, his fielding and stamina up the deal way up. Plus, the kid has major training potential. Also, Zeeshan loves the way Qamar Ijaz progresses into an amazing all-rounder. "He is still only 18, there is tons of room for improvement". He hasn't played many games because of heavy training, and the manager says he won't be playing much this year either. Ghiasuddin Bakht, the third major trainee, is a "prodigy" says, Zeeshan. He has an amazing skill to take wickets and keep runs down and is only 18, and also has a lot of room for improvement. When asked about his team's batting strength, the manager replied, "Well, we are working on that. We acquired a new trainee who regularly comes 1 down, and will be in heavy training. If problems get really bad, we will probably look to trade in a new batsman."
The manager was also asked about the make up of his team. He says that Zaeem Sharif, 19, will always be opening with either captain Shahabuddin or Hanif Munaf, depending on fitness. Nazar Hussain will continue to feature at number 4. As for now, Umar Malik will stay the team's allrounder, and the Pwnage scout for a new Pakistani keeper. Junaid Naidoo and Haafiz Mushtaq will be playing all games, and constantly swapping positions until they get their best place. They both believe they can open or come 1 down.
The captain, Zeeshan Shahabuddin, who shares his name with the manager, is extremely excited about the season. "We have ironed out the problems. But we really need to see where everyone fits, and how we will rotate. Izhar Hussain and Hanif Munaf are excellent players, but we need to see how they fit in. Izhar is a great test player, so we may have to rid of Haafiz because of his recent performances, but we will give everyone a couple of weeks to adjust, then make chops and changes. I am happy about my batting so far, but would like to stay more in control, and will be opening with Zaeem this year, not Naidoo."
So lets see and what develops folks!

Well ... the new season is underway and manager Prit, team and fans are exited about the upcoming games. Not only do we have the OD division, but the FC, the Cup and the PP battrick tournament. " Team India Rules has been coming along nicely the past few seasons and I hope that we can carry on going onward and upwards".
Our promising youngsters have been hard at training and have been looking to increase their ability. Trainee Shayam Singh had some thoughts on the team and his place in it. " It has been great working with Prit and with the coaches, I hope to satisfy my manager with my progress and hope to play a major role in helping the team past the oncoming obstacles that come in our way ".
I am happy with the progress Jason Xolani has made also. " When I first bought him to the team at the age of 17, I thought I paid too much for him. However Jason has pushed those thoughts out of my head with the amount of progress he has made. Jason is happy to be with the team and hopes to stay for a long time ".
We hope to make some good progress and imprint our names on the wall as we battle to reach a satisfying result in both devisions and leagues. The forthcoming season should be exiting, lets see what India Rules can do !

Well after a fantastic season getting a double promotion, going undefeated in both leagues and getting maximum points in both leagues the boys at sanyo cc are understandably delighted with their progress, but manager kamran has warned the squad that this season will be different story. kamran has outlined to the players that they are in a very tough odi league where they could finish anywhere between 3rd and 6th, the fc league isnt as competative so a top 4 finish is expected.
sanyo also hope to have there first under 19 player this season as youth acadamy wonderkid shoiab is hoping for a call up to the pakistan squad, although it is touch and go sanyo manager kamran is hopeful.
Lets hope for a good season.

Update:
Manager Zeeshan has put on a bid for a 32 year old all-rounder to take care of some of his bowling problems. Two of his main bowlers are under heavy training. Moeez Khan, 32, will be playing mainly as a bowler but is a very decent batsman at the same time. "We hope to get the most out of him before he starts to decline," says Zeeshan. The captain commented that Khan would be an integral part of their team and they would do their best to get him. "His bowling skills are handy, and we really need him to replace Siddiq and Bakht."
That's it for now, we'll try and get a comment if the Pwnage actually acquire him, and get their final team makeup on Saturday for the first class game.

I know but Kamran, he's only 200k, and I really need a backup bowler cuz Bakht and Siddiq can't play. I have 1.3 million in the bank, and I should rack up another 1.2 from reciepts I think.

Yaar I don't make 80k each day? I lose money every day, lol. And I will prolly get 200k from each FC and 140 from each OD, alternating.

sohrabslegends manager straight_bat has completed the signing of a player.
17 year old spin bowling Englishman Kevin Barlow joins the ranks at the Peshawar based CC. Barlow will jump straight into the First Class starting XI and will not have to undergo any training.
Straight_bat has been ever paranoid about his lack of spin options in both formats of the game. As the focus is still primarily on the OD squad, a long term project, Patres Alshaun, is being trained and for a short term fix in the FC division, Barlow has been employed in a bid to exploit future dusty pitches.
The club continues to strive from a great team spirit which is seen as the basis for success. Barlow will not find it hard to settle in to life at sohrabslegends CC, there is a large contingent of Australian and English players aswell as other nationalities - the manager has ensured that no cliques are formed and that pushto is the only language spoken at the club. Barlow has been practicising his pushto since 9am this morning when a first bid was launched for him. Translated from pushto to English, his first words after the deal was completed was, 'I errr like a very lot to ermmmm play for cricket for erm sohrabslegends under manager the which straight_bat is, erm yay!'
Good luck to Kevin and the rest of squad for the rest of the season.

Pakistan's new inductee, Taskin Ishaq, has been acquired recently for a 575,000 deal. Manager Zeeshan feels that is this a very important option. "We have been struggling recently with spinners, as we just traded Arsalan Parvez, but now we have found a good replacement for the time being". Taskin is not undergoing any training just basic practice for the games. The team morale is very high after recent succeses.

The real season begins.
Friday will see the first challenge of the season for sohrabslegends CC. The team plays at home against Berkhund, a very good team who are also in good form.
The manager, straight_bat, has spent many hours pondering over his tactics for the game - especially the match intensity he should ask his players to operate at. If this match was a one off there would be no doubt a GFI would be in order, however, an even tougher opponent next week has put doubt in the managers mind over how to operate.
2 feasabile options are apparent:
1. PAN against Berkhund and GFI against tougher opponent next week.
2. GFI against Berkhund and TIE against tougher opponent next week.
The manager is tilting towards option 1 for a few reasons. First of all, both teams on friday are equally matched and as the game is at University Road CG, it should give sohrabslegends the advantage to win the match. This option will also give the team an edge next week as it will allow them to GFI against tougher opponents and an upset oculd relaly mark their name in the league. The opponent next week has one prodigy in the team - however, the fitness of that prodigy is moderate and could substantially reduce the effectiveness of the player. Hence straight_bat is wanting to push the threshold and test his GFI next week against the tougher team.
Option 2 would see the team with a nearly assured victory this week yet a garunteed defeat the next. This type of mentality does not please straight_bat who sees it as a losers mentality. Although option 1 will be the riskier option and could leave sohrabslegends season in jeapordy with 2 straight defeats, the fighting mentality of it will please straight_bat.
However, it remains that the manager can only do so much...the ultimate fate depends in the players' hands'...

Mid way through the season, manager Prit is satisfied with his teams results, but thinks they can do better. They are placed 7th in their league and Prit is urging his team on to do better!

After losing to Sohrabslegends today in the quarter finals of the Pakpassion league tournament manager Prit was happy with the fight his team had. "We knew we had a slim chance of winning as our batting apart from a few guys are quite week, but we gave them a good run for their money. We needed at least 300 on the board and needed a bit more from the bowling department. We wish good luck to all the teams in the semi finals."
India Rules are now planning to relegate back to division IV and rebuild the team. After struggling with bad finances Prit was considering selling Xolani and replace him with a few good batsman. After having a discussion with Xolani and some of the staff Prit has decided Xolani is to stay and has offered Xolani a contract that would last for another 3 seasons. Xolani has gladly accepted and all matters have now been sorted out.
"I was thinking of selling Xolani due to the money he would sell for, but after having a long chat with him he was happy to stay and accept my contract and we would have another chat if a problem arises", manager Prit told the battrick newspaper.
It is reported that Richardson would be sacrificed if the team get themselves into further dept, and Richardson has no complaints. The lads would be having a small party and a good night out after a good run in the PP tournament.
