Real Madrid's board have agreed to hand the technical staff a mega £80 million transfer kitty for the summer market.
After this season's failure domestically and in Europe, Real president Florentino Perez is ready to back general manager Arrigo Sacchi and coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo in rebuilding the squad for next season.
Top of Sacchi's shopping list is Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, while the agent of Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already revealed a massive £48 million offer was made by Real a fortnight ago.
Also in Sacchi's sights is Seville defender Sergio Ramos, having scouted the youngster last Sunday in Liga action.
Real's summer warchest can only be matched by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich - and possibly AC Milan - as the days tick by towards the opening of the close-season transfer market
wow £80 mill thats alot of money!

They can keep dreaming if they think they're getting Cristiano Ronaldo.

real madrid is a circus act!! all their star players are nearing the end of their careers, they have not got any good young players coming thru, so 80 million is not enuff to sort out their problems.
:O :O
That is A LOT of money!

Most of the players linked a are wide players. Who are they going to replace Zidane with? Good playmakers are hard to find.

I hope Real buy some top players (not from United) and win La Liga for many years to come.
Real Madrid is the greatest Spanish club in terms of tradition and history. They play the best football in Spain and should win the title next year IMO.
They have the best player in the world in Zidane and the best strikeforce in Spain with Raul, Ronaldo and Owen when they are on form.
What a team they are. I hope they win the title and do justice to their talent.
Real Madrid is a true icon of Spanish football.

Barca seem in a better postion to dominate. They have a good team spirit. They have also bought wisely and this is shown with their recent signing van bommel.

True Icon??? yeah rite
Just cos General Franco chose Real Madrid as the team he wanted to controle they were allowed to dominate! the spanish league became a dictatorship - Franco was making decisions and no one dared question them!
I wudnt give them too much credit myself - if Franco chose Bilbao or anyone else then they would have dominated!
Also Di Stefano one of the greatest players ever (who won 5 european trophies with Real) WAS actually signed by BARCA but thanks to franco they "lost" him to Real!

You've got to admire Real. The only reason I watch Spanish football is because of their great football. The reason the Spanish league is so special is because of teams like Real.

robinho can play that role - ideally he is suited as a left sided attacking midfielder bit can play central - in fact i think he would have more influence he plays inside.
joaquin they need badly
They cannot get Ronaldo, if they did, the future would look very bleak for Man U. Ronaldo is one of our developping stars and losing him would be as hell as dangerous.
Ibhamavic, is gettign very good, in the recent years he has been growing as a player and since Euro2004 that is really when he made a name for himself.
