Pakistan beat New Zealand 2-1 in Azlan Shah Cup opener

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan successfully launched its campaign beating New Zealand by 2-1 goals in the opening match of the Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament in Kuala Lumpur today.

Adnan Zakir netted first goal for Pakistan in the 15th minute of the match, which was equalized by New Zealand after seven minutes. Imran Warsi scored decisive second goal for Pakistan two minutes before the interval.

Pakistan won the match by 2-1 as no team succeeded to score in the goalless second half of the match.

it seems we will easily make it to the finals with AUS...as IND have lost to Malaysia!!

But the finals would be the tough one...and AUS is certainly the favourites!
