Deco has admitted he does not want his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to join Real Madrid.

The Barcelona playmaker has read the reports in Spain suggesting Real will bring the exciting winger to the Bernabeu this summer and is concerned he will strengthen Barca's fiercest rivals.

"Personally it does worry me that Cristiano Ronaldo could play there," he said. "He is a great player and it is better that he plays at Barcelona.

"I like my friends and want the best things for them but not at Real, our biggest rival in Spain."

The former Porto star has also welcomed Luis Figo back into the international fold and spoken of his delight at sealing the title with Barca.

"I am very happy with the return of Figo to the Portugal team because he is a very important player for us," he added.

"The celebration of winning La Liga with Barca is incredible.

"More special than in Oporto."

i cant see it personally - deco seems to want to play with his friends and that is admirable but that is clouding his judgement - am not doubting ronaldo is a good player but not a "barca" player in the sense of the imagination and wouldnt fit into the side

Deco is obviously gonna say these things - he wont be negative about his international team mate!

Barca cud play Ronaldo wide left, Giuly wide right, Xavi in the middle with Deco etc etc. Eto'o in strike with RonnyD given a free role! That would be proper attacking - defence would be left exposed BUT it is a possibilty!

Ronaldo is a brilliant talent BUT he still needs to learn to keep it simple - he does way too much imo, tries to want to beat everyone instead of delivering the ball first time!

Is Quaresma still a Barca player???? i think he is a good player, just didnt happen for him last year

quaresma unfortunately is no longer a barca player, he is more talented than c ronaldo and if i was man utd i woul dpick him up from porto. Every level the 2 have played for portugal quaresma has been the star - quaresma just needs to make that final step and he is a classy player

Manu were in for quaresma to start with but i think on the advice of queroz, they went for ronaldo instead.

karachiite - that is wrong- man utd always scouted quaresma and rated him highly in fact they made contact with his agent - barca on the sly snuck in and sealed a deal with lisbon and man utd found out when he was having his medical so was too late. That made man utd more determined for ronaldo but they have to be gutted as quaresma was only £4m and then barca entered the bidding for ronaldo and upped the transfer fee. Ronaldo would have left for the same price had barca not entered bidding.

Quaresma's agent is the same one as marquez and deco.
Quaresma outshone ronaldo at every level- shame he couldnt shine at barca due to injuries and other problems but he is a talent
