I've just had a short chat over the phone with Nadeem Iqbal as a follow-up to the interview PP did with him. He said he's just returned from a 15 day stint at the NCA where he went for his Level 2 coaching refresher. He was full of praise for the changes the PCB are making and said that they are teaching budding Pakistani coaches a mixture of Australian, English and South African coaching techniques.

He said the PCB deserve a lot of credit for the work they're doing these days, when I asked if they had offered him a position he said he was hoping he'd get a regional coaching assignment in Multan.

The subject of Zahid's newspaper clippings were brought up by Nadeem himself and he explained that both he and Zahid have been missing each other due to their various commitments but that he hasn't forgotten about it. The clippings will be on their way to us as soon as possible.

I enquired about Tariq Mehmood and this time he was far more positive saying he could be joining Multan for the start of the September season. Apparently Mohammad Irfan (the 7 foot guy) is going to play grade II cricket for the 'Pak-Saudi International team' and his first match is within this week (maybe even today)

I asked him about Wahab and Sohail K but he said he hadn't really seen them because he's been very busy with his academy and his coaching training.
