I think we have plenty of time. 2-3 weeks till end of this season then 4-5 weeks beginning of next season. We have to get through Cup games as well. So expect the PP tournament to start last week of June or first week of July.

Battrick is an online cricket team manager game found at http://www.battrick.org/nl/main.htm

You can build your team, train them, pull youths from your academy into your squad and compete in the domestic leagues. Your players can be called up to the U19 or national squad. We currently have the world cup going on and Pakistan lost the first match.

It is a lot of fun, you have to manage money, grounds, pitch, staff and trainers, players, train them, transfer them there is a lot going on in there.

If any player has a primary (batting or bowling) below woeful (its already into consideration that that is his main skill), fire him immediatly.

Pick up a few cheap players from the transfer market that have at least mediocre primaries and feeble secondaries (concentration/consistency or stamina).

Have fun.

We had 10 per group last season. 20 is a number we can do again. Although we could do 4 groups of 6 so 24 would be a better amount. Shorter time-frame as well, 5 weeks for group games and then quarters, semis and final so a total of 8 weeks which is a nice short time.

We should set a final date to accept participants as the new season is about to begin. Also, I would like to seed the players in to two groups for Saj to pick from so we get a good balance of teams in the groups. What do you think? Should it be totally random?

After reading this i decided to investigate. Turns out I had this guy confused with another player and you are right this guy was actually a very good buy and with a few stamina nets somewhere in the season will be a tidy player for seasons to come or sell on for extra cash

I'm not a fan of the weaker team for just one person but maybe there should be a ruleing that none of us have an average BTR rating in the starting XI of X amount.

Here we go again. Didn't we have this before the last tournament from you Izee?

See I could understand if one of the newer teams made the above comments but having just checked your squad you have 4 players with a BTR over 20k, same as me. What's more your players are younger than mine hence likely to continue increasing BTR at a faster rate than mine.

Indeed at best you've got some competition from just 2 teams in your OD league and none at all from your FC leagues. You should win that with your reserves if you wanted. Go and look at my FC and OD leagues and you'll see the difference.

Now my challenge is to utilise my squad as best as possible to compete in all 3 comps. You only need to concentrate on one (PP friendly tourney -- apart from 4 games in your OD league).

Rant aside, and as I stated prior to the previous tourney starting, I will play with whatever restrictions the organisers decide but these should apply to all participating teams.

I am agree with you all. PP tournament is for everyone (weaker or stronger) does not matter. If you see last tournament, there were so many upsets. Keep it straight and simple. At the end whoever managed their teams PFL will have the advantage.

Frankly I don't mind having the tournament without any restrictions at all.

If we get one more player we will be set to continue. With 20 players we could have the same format as last time.

The seeding would have been perfect if we had 24 players and managed to get more groups.

However, it still has some relevance with two groups of 10... so if others are in agreement for that over random selections then why not?

I personally would prefer it to be random if we have just two groups... but if people want to change the grouping and have something like 4 groups of 5, then seeding will be a better idea.

This is what I think:

- 4 groups of 5
- A longer cup run
- A random group selection
- No team restrictions

I agree with this also, if we have consensus, we can ask Saj to pick the groups at random. What if I end up in a group with Hamblin, Sanyo, Sohrabslegends and Pakistani pwnage? what do I do then? I should start thinking about a plate championship for the losers for the rest of us to play once we are out.

Yep, I agree with the plate idea aswell. It'll keep everyone happy. The idea has been mentioned a few times now but noone has took the inititave yet to start it up... maybe I will help out organising it if I am out in the first round.

Yea, I am for the 4 groups of 5 idea, so as long as theres a plate championship, because 7 weeks seems to short of a tournament. But I guess that's the way to go.

so what are the rules then for this years tournament? Wait untill everyone is out of the cup?

The latest we can start is week 11 but by then everyone should be out of the cup shouldn't they?

The cup is 7 weeks, we could keep 1 week for emergency, giving people a 6 week run in the cup ? Or 5 week ?

We at in battrick Week 1 at the moment. We can give people a cup run untill Week 8.

Then that gives us 10 weeks for the tournament (even though we only need 7)
