We already know that Shoaib Malik is rated as the 3rd best ODi all-rounder in the game right now but whose the second Pak in the list?

Well no prizes for guessing, it had to happen sooner or later...

1 ----- Andrew Flintoff --- ENG
2 ----- Shaun Pollock ---- SA
3 ----- Shoaib Malik ------ PAK
4 ----- Chris Gayle ------- WI
5 ----- Shahid Afridi ------ PAK

maybe his bowling would drag him down but i think he is ur key player for WC.

nice to see my man Pollock there.

razzaq's batting hasnt been all that great recently. Hopefully as his bowling continues to improve he will get his batting back on track and we will have 3 Paks in the top 5!!

Flintoff ---------- Batt No. 5 ------------- Bowl No. 11
Pollock ---------- Batt No. 59 ------------ Bowl No. 5
Malik ------------ Batt No. 24 ----------- Bowl No. 26
Gayle ----------- Batt No. 4 ------------- Bowl No. 47
Afridi ----------- Batt No. 29 ------------ Bowl No. 19

Razzaq --------- Batt: No. 30 ----------- Bowl No. 32

...I think Razzaq is a couple of good performances away from breaking into that top 5!

the interesting thing is that Gayle is only there coz his batting puts him in the top 5 batsmen and Pollock coz his bowling puts him in the top 5 bowlers.

The Pakistani's and FLintoff are genuine all-rounders who are nearly equally high in the lists on each discipline!!

I thought Razzaq's batting had got better and his bowling was on a decline that had begun to be arrested. Just shows u how stats can explode myths in your mind!

If Shahid keeps up this consistency then he will soon be challenging Freddie. To me them 2 play the most aggressive and attacking ALLROUND cricket from that list.

This time last year Razzaq was one of the best ODi batsmen in the world but was barely allowed to bowl even half his quota of 10 overs. Now he's our second best seamer after Rana but his batting isnt as destructive!

He hit a six vs the Windies which was powerfully hit and beautifully struck, i dont think we will be waiting much longer for his form to return with the bat.

By the time Pak is ready for WC 07 iAllah all 3 b&p boys will have been in the top 5 for a long time!!

bits and pieces - no way - not in odis.
malik i see as a batsman though - as a finisher.
imagine a 6/7/8 of malik/razzler/afridi
still about the openers - u really should have a guy who averages around 40 opening.
razzaq's SR is below 80, yet he is so destructive. is this down to his block or blast approach or is he better than that?

razzlers strike rate is below 80 because around 1999 when Razzaq was one of the best bowlers in the world, Wasim used him as a pinch-blocker at number 3!

Check out Pak's WC 99 scorecards to see Razzaqs regular 30 runs off 70 balls style test innings where he kept wickets intact for an assualt at the end by Azhar, Wasim, Moin and the gang!!

That period really hurt his strike rate immensely!

pinch blocker - sounds like Hafeez!

Razzaq has the potential to be in the top 5 and hopefully he will soon. Only prob with Razzaq is he hasnt been sure of his exact role in the team. Bob should sit down and tell him his exact role and hopefully he can rediscover himself .

BTW freddy wasnt too sure before his job but since he has been defined what is expected of him, what position etc and how he will be used he has just been awesome.

Fessal - the one thing I really think BW has done is
give players a defined role. Razzaq is the 4th seamer and no 6 or 7 bat.

yes in bowling but in batting Razzaq still doesnt seem to be sure what he's meant to do. Good to see him get some runs today though.

Abdul Razzak is a good player, he only needs to work on one side of his game. I think he is over working with both sides. Bob Woolmer might find solution the best way is to be a bowling allrounder the rest will come surely

Pollock at 2 is a joke. The guy is number 9 tail end slogger

Its the strength of Pollock's bowling that has him there, but even that is decreasing. 130 to 125 and dropping rapidly. I guess speed and the hair on his head has a positive relationship - a bit like another bowler we know ;-)
