Modified Economy Rate Pts system for ODI's... READ

the only slight adjustment was to economy rate for bowlers in odi to reward them fairer


rr less than 4 = 30 pts
4-4.99= 20 pts
5-5.99=10 pts

6-6.99= 0
7-7.99= -20
8+ = -30

WIY,

I've modified it slightly from your suggestion... the only change is 6 to 6.99 where I have set it to -10pts rather than 0 as you suggested, since it is more uniformical this way.


NEW vs OLD

rr less than 4 = 30 pts was 20pts

4-4.99= 20 pts was 10pts

5-5.99=10 pts was 0 pts

6-6.99= -10pts was -10pts

7-7.99= -20 was -20pts

8+ = -30 was -30pts

Also managers need to note that economy pts are based on no. of overs bowled.

So 5 overs bowled at less than 4 runs an over will earn you 5/10 * 30 = 15pts...

Why do players lose points for noballs/wides ? The extras are already debited to the bowling figures anyway so why the additional penalty?
