Welcome to the official Punjab Panthers thread, where you will be able to keep up to date with all the latest news regarding not only Punjab Panthers progress in the inaugural PakPassion PPL, but also the up to date news about the team itself.

The owner of the Punjab Panthers is Mohsin_Pak786 with the co-owner Plasma.
Both have a rich form of experience on PakPassion and look forward to leading Punjab Panthers to victory in the PPL.

It is felt, that this squad has an exceptional balance of players which bring various important aspects of the game to the team which will in turn help to pose a very serious challenge to other teams and in the end win the inaugural PakPassion PPL!

Well PZ, the first thing is that we have to determine the positions of all the players in the team before Monday.
Its basivally a simulation of the matches with the players, and the legend will be doing the simulation of all the matches, with the first match beginning on Monday :)

I am a specialist batsman and usually open. I am not a hard hitting batsman and rely mostly on singles and doubles and playing in the gaps and rotate the strike.

2) Except International players, all specialist batsmen start with 35 batting average, specialist bowlers start with 15 batting average and 30 bowling average, batting allrounders start with 30 batting average and 40 bowling average, bowling allrounders start with 25 batting average and 35 bowling average. Your averages will off course change after every match, and can be seen through a link on the main thread.
3) Bowling orders: It's up to the computer to decide the bowling order, and If there are more than 5 bowlers, then it's likely that not everyone will get to bowl. It's not possible to follow the bowling order unless you are controlling a team, which would be cheating, and you can only control only one team in the simulator.

And please no changing of teams after they are finalized by captain. =) It's because I enter the teams and simulate the matches as soon as the captains post their teams.

And by the way, averages of International players don't change, so that's an advantage of having good International players in your team. Only PP members' averages change.

Punjab Team has a 5 day rest. Good for us and it will give us time to plan.

One thing for sure is that GA, should more to 3, Symonds at 4 and Plasma at 5. It will prevent a collapse and will give Plasma a chance to regain his brilliant form when batting with two in form batsmen.

Also our bowlers are very good, we have 5 who's averages are under 30. Which is good since that will provide 4 pacers and a spin option.

I’m thinking of giving you a rest with the bowling so that you can concentrate fully on your batting (so it’ll probably be better in regards to your batting performance :-) ) Also with their bowling attack its likely to be a green juicy pitch with not much in it for the spinners, BUT if you wanna bowl, then no worries, just say mate.
Also the thing with having GA and Symonds batting at 3 and 4 is that there's no compensation in case of a collapse (like we saw today with Symonds). If you want, i'll come up the order at 4 and you can come at 6 if you wanna bat later...
I didn’t bowl in the last match against MM, so if you have no qualms can i bowl in this match?
We’re playing a strong team in the Lahore Leopards so I’ll give Steyn one more game before giving him a rests against Rawalpindi. I also bought back 12thMan because of the bowling attack Lahore have (Shoaib, Lee, Sami!).

I’m thinking of giving you a rest with the bowling so that you can concentrate fully on your batting (so it’ll probably be better in regards to your batting performance :-) ) Also with their bowling attack its likely to be a green juicy pitch with not much in it for the spinners, BUT if you wanna bowl, then no worries, just say mate.
Also the thing with having GA and Symonds batting at 3 and 4 is that there's no compensation in case of a collapse (like we saw today with Symonds). If you want, i'll come up the order at 4 and you can come at 6 if you wanna bat later...

The batting isn't enough actually. One of us, Me, Boi or Mohsin have to be rested for a game or two. I would like to play 12thman, our only other batsman, or maybe flintoff. But we do need a spinner in our side, we have enough seamers. If i am rested, can symonds be used as a spinner?

Yes, Geordie Ahmed is not playing in the first match, but that was because i had to accommodate a 5th bowler in Mendis (who's very handy with the bat also!). And, well it was a like for like swap in Dhoni :)

I dont think it should be a problem as long as he has good avg in both batting and bowling.
Take imran khan as example he used to come one down and open the bowling.

Moshin...i reckon i am more effective as a first or second change bowler. Dont use me to open because every time I have gone for over 6 per over whereas witha semi-new ball i have an economy of 3/4
