View Full Version : PakPassion Premier League Match 4: KK vs LL
Welcome to the fourth PakPassion Premier League match between Lahore Leopards and Karachi Khanjars. The match is being played at Karachi. Our pitch reporter says that it’s a batting paradise and we can expect lots of runs today.
Both teams have lost their first match and would like to win this one desperately. There are no changes in LL team. Captain The Blazer has showed full confidence on his XI from the last game. But there has been some changes in KK team. Zeenix has been dropped for PlanetPakistan, and b0wld has been dropped for PakPassionate.
Players to watch out for:
Karachi Khanjars: Monsee, who is averaging 73 with the bat!
Lahore Leopards: crazul, who is averaging 27 with the ball!

Match Update 1
iZee had sent Afridi and McCullum to open on this batting track. Lee had the ball in his hand. He hadn’t had a good outing with the ball the last match, because of the batting track, and he was bowling on the batting track again, so he didn’t look pleased.
First ball to Afridi, and a huge lbw appeal was turned down. Good umpiring that. Both KK openers showed their intentions very clear, specially McCullum who tried to hit Lee out of the ground, but missed it on both occasions. Good over by Lee as he gave only 3 runs.

Match Update 2
Akhtar was the next bowler, and just like Lee, he hadn’t had a good last game too. Afridi had some trouble playing Akhtar deliveries. He got one on his legs, but got lucky as it had hit him high, the next delivery he got beaten, but on the third delivery Akhtar bowled a good inswinging yorker and knocked off his middle stump.

Match Update 3
crazul was brought for the 3rd over, and on the third delivery, McCullum nicked a ball o the keeper, who dropped it. crazul looked disappointed. This could be costly.
Lee came back for the next over and bowled a short pitch delivery outside off, McCullum had a slash it, it took an outside edge, and Pietersen took an easy catch in the slips. Both KK openers were back in the pavilion!

Match Update 4
Monsee, who had played like a tortoise in the last game, came to join his captain, and scored a boundary off Lee’s next ball, and smirked at him. Lee just smiled back, and clapped.
Akhtar came to bowl the next over, and Monsee hit him for a four too, and smirked. Well, he looked pretty confident today, unlike the last game.
crazul was brought back in the attack, and on the fourth delivery, he got the important wicket of KK captain iZeem who tried to pull the ball, but got an edge, and dblock took a comfortable catch at mid-on. KK under pressure as their captain walked back to the pavillion!

Match Update 5
So KK had lost their 3 wickets cheaply on a batting paradise. PlanetPakistan was the next in, and it was his first match, so he was a bit under pressure. But on the other hand, Monsee looked like a totally different batsman from the last game. It could be because he had stayed on the same pitch for a lot of overs in the last match, so he must have known now how to play on this wicket.
He hit a boundary off Lee in the next over. PlanetPakistan also joined him and hit a 4 off crazul’s next over. And at the end of 10 overs, KK were 49/3

Match Update 6
They continued taking runs at a brisk pace, and the momentum seemed to be shifting toward KK. The ball had gotten old, and a little movement that LL bowlers had got in the beginning of the innings was gone, and KK batsmen were playing them with ease. Monsee was dropped twice, once by Augustus, and then by salmanbutt129, but he continued to play his shots. PlanetPakistan was also playing very aggressively and trying to match Monsee’s speed. They both seemed to be enjoying batting on the flat track.

Match Update 7
Monsee hit a 4 off crazul, and reached his fifty. He then hit another 4 off Augustus in the next over, and hit crazul for two more boundaries and stole 11 runs off the over.
The Blazer seemed a bit nervous as both KK batsmen were looking very dangerous. He brought back Akhtar, and PlanetPakistan stole 9 runs off the over with the help of a boundary. In the next over, Planet Pakistan hit a six off crazul, and then a four off Akhtar in the following over, as he reached his fifty in just 46 balls!
End of over 26 (9 runs)

Match Update 8
After PlanetPakistan’s fifty, they seriously started to take LL bowlers apart. The Blazer continued with his main bowlers, but it wasn’t helping at all as KK batsmen were taking no less than 6 runs off each of their overs. Monsee hit a 4 off Augustus in the 33rd over as he reached his century! It was also the first century of the PP League!
End of over 33 (9 runs)

Match Update 9
Lee was back, and Monsee hit him a four. Akhtar came back for the next over, and PlanetPakistan hit him for a four. Salmanbutt129 was finally brought into the back, and PlanetPakistan welcomed him with 2 sixes, and then a four latter to reach his hundred. Is the decision of not going with another specialist bowler going to cost LL?
imranahmed_khan also came back in the attack, and went for 17 runs in his first over, including two 4’s and a 6.
PlanetPakistan hit salmanbutt129 for his fourth six in the 40th over, and at the end of the 40th over, KK were 283/3.

Match Update 11
Raz was the next man in, and he had a point to prove. He had been demoted from the opener to the sixth position, even though he had scored 41 in the last match, so he was quite angry, and he decided to take his anger out on LL bowlers as he hit 6 boundaries off 6 balls!
The last over was done by salmanbutt129, because the main bowlers had finished off their quota trying to dismiss Monsee and PlanetPakistan, but failed. The over turned out be very costly as salmanbutt129 went for 22 runs, and it was clear that LL clearly missed another specialist bowler here.

Match Update 12
Now LL had to bat really well to chase down the mountain of a score, and they had the batting to do that. A confident start was made by salmanbutt129, the man in form, who scored a boundary off Gul’s first over, but Gul came back strongly in the 3rd over, and only gave away 1 run. PakPassionate came to bowl the next over, and salmanbutt129, who was only able to get 1 run in the last over, tried to score some runs off PakPassionate’s over, but skied the ball in the air, and PakPassionate took a catch off his own bowling to dismiss him.

Pietersen was the next man in, and he had a big responsibility on his shoulders. On the other hand, DM was really struggling, and was unable to rotate the strike, which was going to hurt LL a big time. He finally scored a boundary off PakPassionate’s bowling, and got some confidence. iZee brought Afridi for the 8th over, and Pietersen hit him for a four. And at the end of 10 overs, LL reached 38 for the loss of one wicket.

They really needed to accelerate now, which they did. DM hit Afridi for a four in the 11th over, and was now looking good. Pietersen also hit him for a 4 in the same over, and they stole 11 runs off the over.
PakPassionate came to bowl again, and they stole 11 runs off his over too including a four by Pietersen.
In the next over, DM hit Murali for 2 fours, and was now looking dangerous, but sadly in the next over, he tried to smash Afridi’s quicker one outta the park, and ended up getting an edge, and the ball went straight into SameerM’s hand at covers.

Both Pietersen and The Blazer seemed to be going well. Pietersen played a reverse sweep against Murali and reached his fifty. dblock was the next man in, and he was another man in form. The Blazer had now started to play a bit aggressively, while dblock just worked on saving his wicket and rotating the strike.
The Blazer hit Afridi for 2 4’s in the next over, and another 4 when he came back, and then another 4 when came back from the different end, but they needed more than two boundaries off an over as the runrate was piling up, so looking at this dblock, who had played too many deliveries by now, also decided to score some quick runs. Afridi bowled a way outside off stump delivery, and dblock tried to cut him, but unluckily got a thin edge, and McCullum held on to the catch.

At the end of 38th over, the runrate required was 22, and some tight overs from Pak_Pace at the death increased it more. Oxy hit three sixes in Raz’s over, and then a four in the next over to reach his fifty, but the winner of the match looked very clear.
Raz came to bowl the last over, and LL needed 94 to win. Oxy hit a boundary off his last ball, and then took off to the pavilion. He looked very disappointed.
