Yes. I think he wasnt a bad chairman. He handled the players pretty well, he is the one who started the academies, he is the one who phased out the two W's from our team in a gradual process. He took care of Akhtar well and made sure Akhtar played on the field. He brought in plenty of youngsters too. Irrespective of his faults he definately was a better chairman than Shahryar and DNA. He is not a member of the PPP, i hope the give him the chairmanship. Lets bring Tauqir Zia back because i just dont see any other alternatives.

He should have brought Akhtar into line, but instead pampered him. The lack of strong action against him, allowed his ego to grow unchecked.

Zia was also a control freak. As Wasim Akram correctly identified, "Tauqir Zia took more interest in running the team than in running the board." Not good for someone's whose cricket knowledge always seemed somewhat suspect.

By Phasing out you mean kicking them right after the disaster that was 2003 WC you mean?

Shoaibs Problems probably can be traced back to him, when he gave him too much leeway to get away with everything.

If team wants to improve then they need to move forward be it dropping players or coaches or selectors. recycling is not that great.

Well in case of players one can use terms as rotating or resting or only playing certain form of game. Someone doesn't like it then that is too bad for them. But no one should have a gauranteed permanent spot for every match that goes on.

I'd want Majid Khan Back. He was the one who initially handled the match fixing issues and had it not been the induction of Khalid Mahmood as the chairman, Majid would have cleaned us from the Match fixing menace. A very good administrator, who had very good knowledge of cricketing affairs to boot.

Another good one would be Zafar Altaf the bureaucrat. I would infact suggest that a bureaucrat heads this organization, because of the streamlined/as per rules behavior of a bureaucrat.

Regarding Tauqeer Zia, less said the better. He was the Yahya Khan of PCB. He had a vital hand in the demise of Pak cricket.
