What's with this hatred for Faisal Iqbal ? I don't really remember watching him playing. But almost all the posters here have negative views about him. Why ? Is he really that horrible ? I'm really serious. I'm not opening this thread as a joke, and for some entertainment. So what's the reason for hatred towards him ?

maybe some people think that he is Javed Miandad's nephew so he got more chances than what he deserved (their opinion).

I have great respect for Miandad. But his nephew is a good first class player and that's that. He doesn't belong in international cricket.

well, selling paan is his night job
Faisal is a good player of spin, but technically he's terrible.
Against the moving ball and the short pitch delivery its a case of when he will be out and not if he will be out.
Its really disappointing that the selectors turned to him time and again in recent times.

Simply cos he is a horrible player - like Saj says a decent player of spin BUT the rest of his game is seriously lacking
The 'hatred' probably is cos he keeps on getting picked whilst the likes of Kamal, Bazid etc etc are not given chances

Don't hate him at all, in fact, I think he's a legend, an absolute legend. Just watch his last test innings and you'll see bravery, fearlessness, skill, and courage on display. The manner in which he carted the Indians around on his way to a glorious 51 is the stuff of legends.

He is losing that ability too and he is obviously not good enough against decent fast bowling.
I think Arafat is a better batsman AND he can bowl too.

I am afraid there is a great possibility that you may never see him bat for Pakistan again.
But did you miss the last Test match between Pakistan and India at Karachi? The one where Irfan Pathan took a hat-trick with first three deliveries of the match?

Scored a hundred in the second innings of that game. There are highlights of that match on youtube. You can see him bat there.

He can't even play the "100 mph" bowling of Kallis now a days.
Kallis bowled him a short pitch and he just gave a simple catch to boucher while trying to play inzi like hook shot.

Even if one tries to be neutral and give benefit of doubt to Faithal the Good Bhanja: What has he done so far to show us that he can even play and score against any decent bowler (s) when playing overseas in alien conditions?
And with such a grand career so far, how can one show any respect to him?

Hes held in a negative light because of his continual selection and failure going back 8-9 yrs.
He hasnt done anything of note domestically to be recalled and his average of 25 is very very poor.
He keeps getting selected when there are worthy individuals who keep on amounting runs in FC cricket and continually keep getting overlooked
If we are not careful we are gonna have a problem in 2-4 years time when m yousuf, misbah, younis etc retire. We will not have adequate replacements because we havent given the right opportunity to certain individuals and kept on selecting the same old tripe
Apart from that he has done well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked him, but now I protest over the Injustice and YK, Intikhaab and Qadir are afraid of criticism by Miandad if their Test team fails (which doesn't included Bhanja).
What does it mean to perform in Domestic Cricket?
Nothing
It shows only that you are in playing 11 only when:
1. You are favourite of Captain
2. Your Uncle is at influential position in PCB (to effect the Selectors)
Faisal may be a good player, but looking at his domestic record he was at first place never deserved to replace Asim Kamal in earlier Tests. But it happened and now the last 50 against India is going to be very expensive for us.
Captains should have a Check
************************
Well, if power is given to Captains then what is the guarantee that they are not go out of favoritism policy?
- Malik kept on playing and giving chances of the useless Hafeez for many many many matches? Why? While both of them are good friends.
- And Inzimam kept on playing that right arm Slow Spin Bowler who was his friend (don't remember his name). But he was a joke.
- And Malik during whole ONE year never ever gave Fawad Alam a PROPER chance. Why? While he never trusted him.
So, what should poor young players have to do to get selected in the team if they don't have any influential Mamu in the Set up?
Very disappointing.

It seems most people have a problem with Faisal because he cant play the moving ball, cant play short pitched and is miandad's nephew... fair enough. he cant do anything about the 3rd point but re the first two, guys this is pakistan and most batsmen are poor, and sometimes shockingly poor, against quality pace bowling.
I personally dont have a lot of problem with him. I do think Kamal should have played but younis has not done a crime by including Faisal in the playing XI. Really, guys he's not that bad.

Because he finds himself selected all almost every squad announced when he clearly does not deserve it all.
Because he is in these squads and announcements due to his not-so-famous Karachite Uncle
Because he has had ample opportunities and squandered them in regularity
Because he has not had an innings of substance or match-winning effort in any of these opportunities
Because he gets in ahead of Asim Kamal, Fawad Alam, Umar Amin (anyone who is more deserving than him)
I could go on but, I think that should cover the answer to your question if it has not been already mentioned
