Well We will not give up our 1-0 lead that easily, and predicited thunderstorms look to have made our job of maintaining the 1-0 lead all the more easy. but if there is a full days play then barring something specail you guys should win it
Sars_pal - I totally applaud you for your support of WI - wish we had fans like you on the Pak side !!
Anyway - we want to see the same infectious optimism when Pak play England in November and you cheer for Pak !!!
sars_pal
7th June 2005, 08:10
Of course ill cheer for Pakistan agianst England! I actually beleive you can win that series, you are playing good cricket right now you drew a series with India and are well placed to do the same with us! and England would have got battered or at least lost the ashese before they play you, and a lot of Test Cricket is about momentum so yes I like your chances and will be rooting for you guys in that series
sars_pal for President !!!

there is no way we can not win this but what is the weather forecast ?
Storms ( in a tea cup ) and thunder during the day but as sars_pal points out, they dont last that long!
so there is hope - I suppose good news from Pak view is that WI will be looking to defend - they dont have a choice and that can accelerate their demise.
pakistani pride
7th June 2005, 08:34
inshallah weather will stay fine . . . .
sars_pal
7th June 2005, 08:36
If it does you should win but th only thing with Jamaica is when it raisn it pours while the storm may not last to long you guys just need to hope that the outfield doesnt become unplayable as this can happen to if the pitch and outfield become to waterlogged
If it does you should win but th only thing with Jamaica is when it raisn it pours while the storm may not last to long you guys just need to hope that the outfield doesnt become unplayable as this can happen to if the pitch and outfield become to waterlogged
Put it this way - if the weather intervenes, Pak have no one to blame but themselves ! they gave away advantage atleast twice in this match - good teams dont depend on weather - they also dont make heavy weather of s a simple task by their own fault!
sars_pal
7th June 2005, 08:44
That is a fair comment! but its been a great series! so it seems a shame that it could be marred by weather but it has been throughly enjoyable
Good sars_pal - trust Pakistan to bring joy to everyone but their fans !!
Seriously speaking - great and inspired performances by WI bowlers have made the difference so far and the Lara Factor!
sars_pal
7th June 2005, 09:13
I must say whatever the result in this game for us, I have seen a considerable improvement in our Test performance, Collymore seems to have it toghterm our batting line up is farily strong although can collapse at times and our fielding has sharpened up! still a long way to go for us but im seeing encouraging signs
Very encouraging for the Windies. Before the Test series, the Windies were probably at their lowest point ever, with no encouraging signs for the future.
Whatever the result of this match, at least Edwards and Collymore have stepped up.
And most importantly, Browne has probably played his last match for the Windies.
Shoaib A
7th June 2005, 11:28
yea I agree.....windies have done well against pakistan, who for me looked a bit below par...but all in all gr8 series...
Fessal
7th June 2005, 11:40
Good series because we have 2 evenly matched very average sides which has given us a good contest.
Lara, Chanderpaul and Collymore were the main stars for Windies where for us it's been mainly Younis and Inzy and now Danish.
Im actually now wanting to see WI win as I hate draws in a series (as shown by when I was supporting Pak when it was 3 - 2 against India). Plus it would be very enjoyable Cricket to see Windies take hold of this game again and make a dramatic comeback such as their Champions Cup victory.
Shoaib A
7th June 2005, 12:41
can someone say something about the weather there right now?
With a 50% chance of showers, its gonna be touch and go ie Pak will need to take chances as they come - one dropped catch or missed run out and its curtains for the series !

sars_pal
7th June 2005, 14:01
Thunder Stroms predicited though so hopefully from our point of view if it does come it will do enough damage to keep us off the field as long as possible
Whatever play we have - Pak will need to surround the bats with 9 men and let Kaneria and Afridi have a go - the same pressure worked on the Indians - run will not matter now - if the WI play for the whole day - they will win ! so its gotta be attack attack and attack - will be one cracker of a match !

Persisting with Shabbir !!
40.4 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitches a bit short, angling in, Browne comes half forward and lets it go
40.3 Shabbir to Browne, no run, good length ball, on the off, again lets it go
40.2 Shabbir to Browne, no run, outside off left alone
40.1 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitched up, on the off, gets forward and plays it down to short cover region
Shabbir Ahmed to start the proceedings on Day 5
why not Afridi ?

46.6 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitched up, comes forward and plays it down to mid on, maiden over!
46.5 Shabbir to Browne, no run, good length ball, on the off, left alone
46.4 Shabbir to Browne, no run, sharp incutter, edges that to gully
46.3 Shabbir to Browne, no run, bit short, outside off, left alone
46.2 Shabbir to Browne, no run, again pitched up, on the off, comes half forward and plays that to gully
46.1 Shabbir to Browne, no run, pitched up, comes forward and pushes it to cover point

I feel Shabir will be asked to correct his bowling action for the umpteenth time .. So he might not be there for English Series . A player can only play for 21 days once his action has been reported ..as far as I know

bhai Cartman dont forget that we were missing Inzi, Yo Yo and Malik in the 1st test. Congratulations to everyone, I singed in and the last wicket had just fallen! Again Inzimam's centuary was crucial and again his centuary helped us win. Also because of brilliant Kaneria! GO PAKISTAN!!! :D> :D> :D>
Danish: Captain has the confidence in me and feels happy to stand up when it was required. Kaneria was hopeful of getting Lara on DUCK after he got him in Barbados. This comment leaves Lara smiling.
Man of the match: Danish Kaneria
Inzy: Credit goes to the boys, they really worked hard. Specially Danish and Shabbir taking advantage of this wicket. Feels happy to win the 1st Test win on the West Indian soil since 1988.
Shiv: Give credit to Pakistan in all department. Feels happy for the bowler's bowling the oppostion out in both the innings in both the Tests. Looks ahead for the tour to Sri Lanka.
