...........NOT

OZs should play him in every test match to help out their opponents.

What happen to the OZ spin arsenal? especially after the tongue licking spinner retired!

Well the guy definitely showed some courage, tell me how many guys will keep on flighting the ball, when they are hit around the park in their opening spells?

He might not be the best spinner, But he got his attitude right.

HE IS NOT A BAD BOWLER!!!

I was very impressed with his persistance, even when She-wag was going after him he kept on flighting the ball and attacked him...was challenging sachin too, but sachin won the battle.

I like the guy and i think he is much better spin option for AUS

I will welcome Danish Kaneira with open arms into this country like he is one of our own. Our motto would be "Dan Kan! Dan Kan! Dan Kan!" makes him even sound more Australian.

Not the worst effort from Krapzja though. When your opening bowlers can't take wickets, then you can sort of ignore his pitiful economy rate. So far he is behind Lee on the Useless-O-Scale.

he could improve plus he got three wkts on first day against such quality batsmen he is better than white IMHO

I thought hel get murdered but he did a pretty good job. I am quite impressed.

Gets a 5fer on debut. He is not afraid of tossing the ball up and comes across as a thinking bowler. Against a strong batting line-up dismissing the top 5 batsmen when the pitch is playing at its best is certainly a good achievement. I feel Australia might have been better off in this series if they had played Krejza instead of White.

He still got murdered. 5-200 odd is Kaneria-like/

voodooray

Jeez he's got 7 wickets. 210/7 is not a 'murder' by any means, especially when the scorecard reads 437/9.

How does 8-200 odd sound now?

Seven on debut.
Mate, Harbhajan and Mishra will share ten on this track.
And no, I still dont rate Krejza, cause the Indian's were attacking him consistently, and if the pitch wasn't in favour of spinners, his figures would read 1000000000000000000-0 after 20 overs.

How many wickets did Kaneria get in the last test series?

Godd job by the guy, lots of heart.
He has the flight and attack, soon he will get the guile.

I feel sorry for Bryce McGain.
The guy got sent home with an injury after being a certainty to make his Australian debut as a spinner. He's 36, and now that Krejza has done this, he'll probably miss out on the chance of his lifetime :(

Well Bowled JK. Getting 8 wickets on a debut no matter how the opposition played is an achievement in itself, Well done dude.

Wow, marvellous start by Krejza. The moment Sehwag started assaulting him on his very first over, I really believed him to end up with a wicket or maybe two at the most giving away 200/250 runs. He bowled really well.

I think he has done EXCEPTIONALLY well on his debut. There seems to be a trend (yes another 1!!!!) with the indians, they get owned by debutant spinners. LESSON : Blood new spinners every time you play india!!!!!!

The Guy took 8 wkts on debut so far which is good but he bought his wickets at times with some pie throwing! Its his debut so he can improve his control.

It's a good return and all but a lot of his wickets were absolutely rubbish deliveries. I think his best one was the one that got Amit Mishra bowled as it pitched right on middle and off, threatened to turn but went straight on and knocked his off stump off. Good signs though

This is no new trend. Indians always get owned by debutants be it spinners, pacers or batsmen.:|

Watching Jason Krejza on the second day was even more addictive than during the first. Attacking spinners know they will get hit in the search for wickets and Krejza received a lot of success and punishment. At the end of his first innings it will be the magical return of eight wickets that will be remembered before the 215 runs from 43.5 overs.

If Krejza never plays another Test - that's a bit unlikely now - he will always be a record-breaker. When Simon Katich grabbed a sharp one-handed take to remove Ishant Sharma, Krejza became only the sixth bowler to earn eight wickets in an innings on debut.

"It's a bit of a blur still," Krejza said after play. "I tried to keep doing what I was doing. I was happy to get the wickets. It's still unbelievable to me."

Five of Krejza's victims came in 19 runs as India were dismissed for 441 and during that period Krejza was battling to remain calm. "I was just trying to keep my emotions under control," he said. "When the five-for came around, that's the moment I'll always remember, with a great catch from Michael Clarke. I thought I bowled better today than yesterday. I've started really well in Test cricket."

Sourav Ganguly was Krejza's fifth victim, when he edged low to Clarke at first slip, and it was the point Krejza realised he could take eight. Only Albert Trott, Alf Valentine, Bob Massie, Narendra Hirwani and Lance Klusener had done that before.

"When I was getting my five-for Binga [Brett Lee] said: 'You can get eight-for here.' I believed that and I kept going and got a bagful."

After bowling Dhoni and then removing Ganguly in the same over, he finished off the innings by capturing Zaheer Khan (1), Amit Mishra (0) and Ishant (0) in nine balls. Despite the five quick wickets on the second day, his favourite dismissal was his first one on Thursday, when Rahul Dravid popped a catch to Katich at short-leg.

"That was the stand-out," he said. "My strategy was if he came at it with low hands, and if I got some bounce, I could get him. It was a plan and it worked."

There were a clutch of other milestones for Krejza, including his maiden first-class five-wicket haul, and becoming the 14th Australian to achieve such a collection on debut. His figures were also the most expensive of any first-gamer in an innings, beating West Indian Omari Banks' 3 for 204 in 2003 against Australia.

Krejza, a surprise selection on the tour, was forced to wait until the final test to get an opportunity, but he has quickly moved up the slow-bowling pecking order. "It was an honour for me to be here in the first place," he said. "For me to play was an even greater one. [Waiting] never worried me, I knew I was going to get a go at some stage."

While the swiftness of Krejza's inspired collapse lifted the tourists, it also created some concern. If Krejza could do this, what would Harbhajan Singh do? By stumps Harbhajan had only one wicket, having bowled Ricky Ponting for 24, and the Australians were feeling much better.

Katich's 92 and Michael Hussey's 45 had moved them to 189 for 2. "We've got ourselves into a really good position now where we have got two batsmen who are very good," Krejza said. "It's got us into a good position to win the game."

The funny fact is that if he had gone for just few more runs he would have held the record for 'most runs conceded on a debut':)) (which is currently held by West Indies´ Omari Banks).

Seriously, he received some pounding from Sehwag to start off:|. He was even willing to expose his stumps to send him over the boundary rope.

Anyway, well done:19:!!!

If it was not for Jason, India would have batted for whole two full days and scored 550+. 8 for 200 are very good figures and only chance Aus has to be still in the match. Compare it to others who are proabably did 1-70. I will take that 8-200

Yea no doubt about it! Jason Kreza bowled beautifully flighted the ball, got turn, and just did a great job. Congrats and superb bowling mate!

I think if he was offered this figures before the match, he would have taken it. Its a record beaking dream debut. The guys has the guts and the grit to succeed even in diversity. Based on this performance alone, he merits a run in both the SA series since we all know how well they play spin :)) He just needs to quickly develop a doosra and he is all set to keep rolling.
