This guys have a average of 43 in 4-day game in 95 matches and 48 of domestic oneday in 65 matches. For one reason or another he didn’t get a chance in Pakistan team. I heard his name first time around 03, he was close to make to Pakistan team for but he didn’t make it. This year, he was even dropped from Sindh team. He got into Blouchistan team and scored heavily in pentagular cup. He averages above 50 after 4 games and have been the key batsman in Blouchistan lineup. His scores are below

14*, 47, 89(run out), 44*, 34, 119, 5, 58.

Has anyone seen him bat?

Your thoughts about him?

Not bad at all.

He's a cross between Hasan Raza and Abdul Razzaq. Not much foot movement.

he might not have good foot movement, but there are lot of international player who doesnt have it as well but they are successful, I think this guys deserve a chance in pakistan test team.

Agree, pretty sure he was close to making his debut 4-5 years after the 2003 WC during Aamir Sohails reign as selector.

I think he is 28 now.

He was called up to the squad to face Bangladesh in 2003.

Cool. Its amazing how much talent Pak has - even though we are going through a lean patch!

Send this youngster into the deep end :inzi

Sad talent like this is not given an oppurtunity to go the Intl. Stage.

Seriously, talent like this usually ends up the ICL. So they can earn decent money. Sad that they'd be villanized by the BCCI and some Pakistan "Fans".

Would rather have Adnan Raza instead of him!

Then that team can look very solid I must say!!

Saeed Bin Nasir and to an extent Misbah lost out at a chance in the national side due to the compelling and noble cause of giving the highly privileged and of bureaucratic background, bazid khan a test cap...

It is truly sad that a total waste of space and talentless Bazid Khan can be given a test cap and more deserving and talented players find it difficult to make it to even first class teams...

Along with Bilal Asad he was very close to getting into the Pakistan side. Never materialised, although as shown by Misbah they still have a chance.

hmmmm....apparently squad selection is such an easy job....
Step 1 - go through bowling and batting averages
Step 2 - pick the top two three players
Step 3 - go home, take a nap

There has never been a shortage of talent in Pakistan but it's just that it gets noticed and tapped at the right time so that they can get good backing and support from their own domestic structures and ofcourse the PCB that their performances are being appreciated and noticed! That's where PCB has been lacking over the last few years where so many decent looking youngsters have come and just gone without being noticed or just being handed 1 game to show and then forgotton and gone back and they done nothing to prove themselves either!

I had heard of Saeed Bin Nasir's name hovering around the team but it never could make it to the actual team in the end....Looking by his stats as I haven't seen him play looks a decent player and has played a fair amount of FC games over the years and currently he's 29 so it's not all over yet for him as Misbah's case is infront of us as to how he got selected once again and all and ofcourse even in Australia, Hussey after playing 11 years of domestic cricket getting selected at the age of 30 so it still can happen but in our part of the world "fitness" needs to play a big part too as looking at Hayden, Hussey they don't look bad for their ages at all still sprinting out to bat and good in the field but when it comes to our part of the world there is no emphasis on fitness levels whatsoever.

So maybe if he is 29 or 30 at the moment but what do we know how fit he is for his age? Even if he really is that age which we think he is because in our cricketing part of the world, for some odd reason most ages of the players seem to be kept secret and younger ages are put with no matter even if they look much older than what they are stating on their cricketing profiles!

That's why probably our cricketing body is a bit reluctant to give a 30 or 30 plus or so a debut in international cricket assuming as to how they'd be at this age or as to how they'll do it at this age among the rest of the team who might be slightly younger or around the same age or probably think as to what the people watching would say that rather giving a 20 or 23 year old a debut they're giving a debut to a 30 plus guy!

In the end, I would quite like to see guys like Saeed Bin Nasir given a try in the national team and given the support that these guys need that their performances aren't being overlooked and will be given a fair chance depending on how their performance has been in the last few months or years etc; at the domestic level.

A new setup of the PCB, so there is no harm in being optimistic, is there guys eh?! :P

Well seems like I've written quite alot on here and my views might even go unread and might make no sense at all and some might be thinking "gosh, he's written a whole book here" lol!!! :D

missed a huge opportunity. If he would have scored well in the final, when selectors were watching the final, he let himself and his team down. A big opportunity missed by him. I hope her performs well in oneday pentagular tournament and get into pakistan team.

yea a golden duck isn't the greatest way to prove yourself to selectors, although he did deserve a chance a few years ago when he was on fire. Although at that time we were loaded with high class middle order batsman such as Yk, Inzi, Yousuf and then misbah in the ranks...

another impressive performance by him. He was batting way too down the order in first 2 onedays where he made 38 odd in his last. Captain decided to send him up the order in the last match against punjab and he made a magnificent 97*. Hope selectors will be noticing his performance.

Guys like Azhar Ali, Adnan Raza, Afaq Raheem are needed to be kept a close look on as these were the names I can remember keeping an eye on from last year's Quaid-e-Azam trophy as those who had potential and could go a long way in the years to come! Good to see people in here think the same! :)
