The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which is currently run by cricketers likely to be dispersed after the national selection committee along with the Javaed Miandad - Director General (DG) of PCB objected, that they had not been consulted by their chief while finalising the list of 26-players for the central contract. The board had asked coach Intikhab Alam, manager Yawar Saeed and chief selector Qadir to finalise the list of players.

people understands PCB may be forced to review the list of players who were given central contracts as the selectors Saleem Jaffer and Shoaib Mohammad were not happy that chief selector Abdul Qadir had not consulted them while submitting the list of 26 players for the contracts.

"The indications are that the board might have to review the list because the selectors say when they sit down to finalise teams for the home series against Sri Lanka, some of the players they will consider are not on the contracted list," a source told someone.

The PCB has come in for criticism after it was pointed out that a number of deserving candidates and some high performers in domestic cricket were left out of the central contracts while some less deserving players have been accommodated.

One of the deserving Pakistan pacer Abdul Rauf, who performed well in last year's Asia Cup and has been a steady performer in domestic cricket, was surprised after he was overlooked for the central contracts.

"I am really sad at not being considered for the contract. I don't understand why they ignored me," Rauf said.

hopefully akhtar wont be in cat A. if they leave him in A they might aswell give inzi cat A aswell. :inzi

AKhtar has to be in category A if he is a part of the PCB's plans. There are no question about that.

Akhtar should at best be in category B and if we're being fair he should be in category C. He's not kept himself fit enough to complete his job as a fast bowler, in any other profession he'd have been sacked or have had his contract renegotiated to performance related pay!

To be fair Akhtar in his latest match looks fit in regard to how many overs he has bowled and the wickets. it is a positive sign. giving a catergory A was a good move as it is bound to boost Akhtar. Catergory A should be shortened

I think there are more serious issues with the list of players in the central contracts apart from Akhtar. But even i admit a jump to Category A was too much for him.

If they reconsider the central contracts listings, I'd like to see Hafeez, Hameed and Bhanja taken out and perhaps bring in Abdur Rauf, Saeed Bin Nasir and Mohammad Aamer!

Good to hear that PCB is reconsidering it. I believe M. Aamer and M. Talha might he given a contract becaus they had performed really well in the domestic cricket.

Good news if it happens.

With Pakistan not playing much international cricket these days, we need to reinforce the importance of the domestic game.

The message should be 'do well in first class cricket and you will get a chance in the national side'.

Deserving candidates from the domestic season should replace Bhanja, Hafeez and Niazi for starters.

I have a feeling Inti's inclusion in compiling the final list might help produce a better one.

He used to give a lot of emphasis to importance of domestic performances.

Totally agree with you. Those three need to be kicked out of this list and the three people who should be added are Afaq Raheem, Aamer and Talha/Rauf
