Childhood obesity rates are going through the roof in the West, partly due to the increase in fast food and pc/internet/computer games culture we see today.

It seems far too many parents are happy for their kids to be sitting in front of a tv or monitor so long as it keeps them quiet.

So if you had an overweight kid who didnt really like partaking in physical activity would you make them?

I think I would and it wouldnt suprise me to see more American type 'fat camps' for kids pop up in the UK and elsewhere in the next few years.

Given south asians are so more susceptible to things like diabetes I think its a must to take an interest in your childs physical fitness from a young age.

Any thoughts?

Yes.

But only so he will be hard as eff, not for any concerns about future health. If he turned out as a wimp, I would be ashamed - so its not going to happen.
