Time to settle old score and end the painful memories of 2007 world cup by thrashing Irish and moving on to semis.

MIG
13th June 2009, 20:45
Conversely, Ireland once again stand in our way to a semi final berth or an ignominous exit...

just do it for BOB

if it was a 50 over match, the it was pakistan 100% strong and will win the revenge, but this is a t20 and anything is possible, so am not asking our team to thrash them but win the match

I think in this match Pakistan will rip Ireland into pieces.. Revenge from 2007 WC. If We bat first we should hit a score of 170+. If Ireland are batting get them out less than 100.

This is one match where motivating the players won't be a tough job for Younis. There are a bunch of players in this squad who were there in 2007 when Ireland dumped us out. That defeat would ring in everyone's mind come Monday

I was about to create this thread. Pakistan needs to go full throttle on them. We need to beat the sh*t out of them :)

It better not be an ordinary win

we need to beat them silly !!!! in every aspect of the game, bowling, feilding and batting. i hope we bat 1st and post 200+ runs, and then get them out for 40-50 runs

Lets hope we dont see the first green pitch of the tournament at the flattest ground in the country on Monday!

We shouldn't think of this as a revenge mission....just do our job and beat them...and beat them well.

Or Just bowl them out for 0, and then they bowl a wide, and we win the match without facing a ball. :D

Only Akmal, Malik, Afridi, Gul and Younus where in the team that lost to Ireland. Got to expect those five to stand up, none of the other guys will feel the "revenge factor".

the thing thats worrying me is that there is rain forecast...its light rain though so perhaps we might get play in? Whats also worrying me is that once SL beat Ireland tomorrow will they have qualified already? because if SL qualify they may send a weakened team against NZ.

Nope they won't have qualified. If all the teams beat Ireland and NZ beats SL.. then it will be a three way tie between SL, PAK and NZ.

There is no way SL will send a weakened team at any point of this tourney.

Not really because if all the teams beat Ireland which they should do, then SL will still have a chance of going out when the play NZ.

Yes, we definatley need to settle the old score. It was very insulting in 2007. Now Allah gave us chance to teach them lesson. I am sure our team's moral is boosted from today's victory. I hope they shouldn;t insert butt for Ireland. They should play with same team or drop Mailk for better replacment.

Revenge? No.

Just need to go about doing a clinical, and ruthless job against a minnow team that performs above their combined ability, especially against senior teams.

Objective is to get to the Semi finals - not to seek revenge.

We dont have to do anything for Bob, because Ireland werent responsible for Bob's passing away.

What was the reason behind Afridi's absence?

Did he hit/attempt to hit someone with his bat?

My memory is failing to serve me on this occaision.

Yeah lol... when he attacked a fan... he might as well have finished the job cause he got a four match ban for doing nothing.

We can't wait to play Ireland," said Younus, referring to Pakistan's shock defeat at Irish hands in the 50-overs-a-side World Cup in the Caribbean which knocked Inzamam-ul Haq's side out of the tournament. "My advice to the boys about that game? Just crush them."

That makes me so happy :D

yes brother P4K1, u r absolutly right we shuld restrict them round about the 100 mark, coz we r well known for loosing the track in no time, especially chasing.
