waheed and faisal if u see this - we have finalised player list. probably best to ask peeps to pick seperate test and one day sides - so less need for transfers - which are limited to end of months. waheed if we can use your site to post tables etc. also have link on there to you, faisal and i who will take care of admin. i dont mind working out points scored by each player on the list - then can relay info to faisal and you - then can update teams score - can split into one day and test responsiblities and then one person can look at transfers.

rules were simple

pts were listed previously.
also must have 4 nations represented in side at all times. select one captain who will score double pts.

u must fulfill selection criteria going by grades

i.e max per team are

2 A rated players
3 B
4C
5 D

that is it really - just need to clarify transfers situation

Bowlers economy rate taken into consideration too

econ rate of 3-3.9= 20pts
4-4.9= 10 pts
5-5.9 = 0
6-6.9= - 10 pts
7-7.9 = -20
8-8.9 = -30

so this is extra points fow bowlers.


For batters STRIKE RATE MATTERS(FOR YOU AFRIDI FANS)!!!!

so no of runs scored/100 multiplied by strike rate

so if afridi scores 40 off 20 balls against india - equates to 40/100 times 200 = 80PTS!!!!!

but if dravid scores 50 off 100 balls = 25 pts

penalties for duck exists and bonuses for 50/100 exist but this makes it better

AFRIDI FANS WILL LIKE THIS!!!!!

right STRIKE RATE 60/100 times 300(sr) =180pts
runs scored (2 uns =1pt) = 30 pts
fifty bonus = 5 pts

AFRIDI GETS 215 pts!!!!!!! - damn

Afridi bowling: 10-2-30-4
How many points?


maiden bonua(5pts per maiden)= 10pts
wicket bonus(20pts per wicket)= 80 pts
econ rate(check above - this case is 3) = 20 pts
conceding runs(5 runs =-1) = -6
plus HE TOOK 4 in 1 innings - so 4wkt in 1 innings bonus = 5 pts

afridi would get = 109 pts

one dayers are tricky but this should clear it up

WIY HAS WORKED HARD TO DO THIS AS WELL AS HAVING ESSAYS TO DO SO I SUGGEST YOU ALL SHOW HIM THE RESPECT HE DESRVES AND BE GRATEFUL AND ENTER.

I think your rules and points have covered nearly all aspects of the game.

Can I add a couple for completeness sake, hope it doesn't make yoou job harder keeping tabs on the scores...

1. Max. 5 Transfers per month, but only take effect at the start of new month.

2. Currently Fielders only get points for catches, All scorecards now include information for Runouts.
So I suggest 10points for a Run out.
If two people are involved 5pts each.

3. Batsmen getting run out deduct points -10 points.

I was also thinking of Extras (but it is upto you if you want to include it)

Wides and noballs to penalise bowlers, deduct 2 points for each extra.

Byes conceded by wicketkeeper deduct -5pts for each one. People have to decide do they want Bastmen/Wicket Keeper or specialist :-D

I think all these will add to your already excellant points system, but will make it more realistic aswell.

One more thing I think you need to fine tune the strike rate points.

I just had a look at it and there is just to much emphasiz on this component.

If a player scores a run a ball 40 runs.

They will get 40 points, not to mention the 20 points for runs scored.

I think this is too much in favour of the big hitters, and needs to be reduced.

Most players will have a strike rate of 75+ so even somebody scoring 40 runs of 50 balls will get 50 points.

In the example: Afridi batting: 60 runs of 20 balls.
AFRIDI GETS 215 pts!!!!!!! - damn

Afridi bowling: 10-2-30-4
afridi would get = 109 pts

To me the bowling is as good as the batting achievement and a gap of 100+ points is too much.

I suggest you half the points for the strike rate that would make it 90pts + 30pts + 5pts = 125pts instead of 215pts

so u get 185 pts

sr is key in one dayers - u r right that is too big of a diffrence

how about that - eclude run bonus

or u wanna go with halving idea.

ALSO duck penalties dont apply to bowlers - if they get a duck they dont get minus

I'm happy with this system and think it fair.

Example Points System:

Afridi batting in an ODI scores 60 runs of 20 balls and is run out

Afridi bowling in an ODI gets figures of 10-2-30-4

Afridi while fielding takes 3 catches and 2 runouts

Afridi is also the designated captain

So how many points does Shahid Afridi earn for you?

Afridi batting in an ODI scores 60 runs of 20 balls and is run out

Runs Scored = 60/2 = +30 points

Strike Rate = (60*60)/(20*2) = +90 points

50+ Score = +5 points

Run Out = -10 points

Whirlwind innings from Afridi gets you a +115 points !!!



Afridi bowling in an ODI gets figures of 10-2-34-4

Maiden Overs = 2 * 5 = 10 points

Wickets taken = 4 * 20 = 80 points

Economy rate: (34 / 10) = 3.4 therefore +20 points

Runs conceded = (34/5) = -6 points

4 wickets in innings = +5 points

Afridi's bowling gets you +109 points !!!



Afridi while fielding takes 3 catches and 2 direct run outs

Catches = 3 * 5 = +15 points

Run Outs = 2 * 10 = 20 points

Afridi's fielding gets you +35 points !!!



A Superb All Round Performance from Shahid Afridi will get you +259 points

Not bad for a days work, but don't forget he was the captain as well :)

ermm about the transfers....in the first period pakistan don't have any games so would it make sense to have no pak players in there? Transfer means we can get anyone from outside in right?

salaam marooned. First period of comp is 3 months so feb till end of april for both ODI/test so u pick a side now and u are allowed to make 5 transfers at end of each calendar month(first at end of feb) to both sides. pak will be playing in this period but so are ind,nz,oz,sa,zim
also remember u must have 4 nations represented at all times so up to you on composition - check out calendar of matches.
also remember the restriction of only 2 a rated players,3b,4c in test/ODI SIDE(in each).
also to have 5 batters,ar,wk,4 bowlers
