View Full Version : The lets thank PakPassion Team Thread!
Tournament is over and we are the champions.
Apart from the action on the middle, the most enjoyable part of the tournament has been PakPassion updates, interviews, exclusives and exciting threads.
The mods have probably spent hundreds of pounds to attend games which must of also had a significant impact on work and family. The non UK based mods must have also have to work double hard to moderate posts as the site has been so busy.
All of this hard work must have taken some of the enjoyment away from them and given straight to us.
Thanks to you all for your hard work during the last three weeks and well done from making PakPassion a small forum for Pakistan fans to a well respected website with links to genuine cricketers and beyond.
The Wasim Akram interview was the icing on the cake!

It has been great. Thank you all PP staff for providing the coverage which we as fans cannot get from anywhere else. The interviews have been exceptional. We got coverage from ground and press conference plus their audios and the photos. There were few on location and then there were few here on website keeping things under control, updating the site, getting deals for streams and keeping it running with heavy traffic.

Sajid has done an amazing job. Took days off from work and then went around the country following the Pakistan games to provide first hand coverage of the events taking place.
Oxy and other members also put in great amount of work ensuring PP continues to function and also travel to the matches and take plenty of pictures in case of Oxy.
Its only fitting that Pakistan didn't disappoint us.

Saj deserves an enormous amount of credit - the amount of hours and effort he has put in just for PP is nothing short of amazing. You wont find many people that would do as much as he did so everyone can have a great experience. He should definately take a bow, deserves it
Oxy has been amazing as well - has been to many of the matches and has at times sacrificed his own viewing pleasure so he can bring some great pictures for the sake of PP - unbelievable stuff.

Apart from the excellence of the material that you have seen on PP, what Saj and Oxy have achieved has NOT been done in any Fan Website.
Remember we are not in the same league as Cricinfo/ESPN (and TSN :D) - but look at the weight we have pulled here !
What has happened now has made the world of cricketing journalism to sit up and recognize a Fan Site as an effective force in this domain.
We are truly pioneers in this area and kudos goes not only to Saj and Oxy but ALSO to others members of this team:
In particular, the names that you dont see that often :
1. Salman - gets Willow TV and others to listen to fan demands
2. Feather - responsible for the technical content of this site
3. Merc - Its his incisive questioning and dogged determination to get interviews with players/personalities that people enjoy so much
4. Momo, Sehsan and other mods who spend time online to run and monitor PP at fairly odd hours.
All of the above put in an extra ordinary amount of time and their reward is kind words of appreciation as above.
On behalf of all of these - I thank the members of PP.
Can I just thank everyone who has posted in this thread and all those of you took time to email me and send me PMs.
If I could just echo what MIG is saying, some really hard work put in by all the guys behind the scenes made the World Cup a memorable one for Pakistan and for PakPassion.

Massive booyaka bump to this thread
Everybody please read very carefully:
- All PP moderators do not make a profit from this website and I just heard thats some fund it from their own pocket!
- They all have busy jobs/lives, not students or even bums like some members on this forum
- They all will have family commitments. I am sure that Saj, Oxy, Mig, Geordie Ahmed will not mind me posting that they are all fathers. I am sure many more moderators are too.
- When something major like matchfixing comes out then they possibly have to work though the night, without any sleep to ensure the integrity of the site is not damaged.
- If you have a few hundred or a thousand posts then the chances are that you have spent hundreds of hours reading this forum. That is hundreds of hours free of charge.
- Please stop whinging and moaning about this site. The PP team do not make profits as said earlier. This is not facebook, youtube or twitter where the website makes billions and has a dedicated customer service team. They are ordinary fans like us, and dare I say lead busier lives then most. I know by spending a few years in this forum that many of the moderators lead succesful careers.
Many more things I would like to get of my chest, must the key message must not be forgotten.
Thankyou so much PP team for your efforts. you are all dedicated and tenacious to put up with some morons on this forum. I could not do what you do and your efforts should be remembered more carefully.

Time for a bump.
What a huge and tiring year for PakPassion and Pakistan cricket as a whole.
Thank you PakPassion for allowing us to post on here and you tirelessly keeping the site up and running. All of us use this site as our primary cricket source and more.
This year I had the pleasure of meeting Saj, Mrs Saj and family. What a lovely bunch. We met at Titans of Cricket and Saj travelled all the way down to keep you guys updated. Saj was even at court keeping us posted.
MIG has worked tireslessly by attending events and matches. Some are glamorous and some are not.
I took photos and CoverDrive worked tirelessly to watermark and post them.
AZ is always a champion on here and working hard for free. (Sorry for the grief today but it was fun!)
I have interacted with many more and they are all exceptional volunteers. This site is my favourite website in the world and likely to be for most of you too.
Once again - they all do it for free!! We moan and take this for granted.
I had a tough year in my personal life and a few mods were aware. They even remembered and occasionally sent their well wishes to me. Very humbling indeed.
Please lets all show our appreciation. This last year would have been much poorer without it, like every year!

Also, why not personalise posts and put down incidents where the PP team has done something to help you.
I will start by mentioning MenInG (MIG). He once sent a random message wishing me well during a hard time in my private life.
Small but heart warming gesture. I least expected him to remember but this really is a community.

A truly wonderful site. Moderated and run by some very sensible people. The stuff here on PP like the interviews, the write ups they are all absolutely world class, and comparable to any sports website.
With the whole fixing saga behind us, lets pray that the future of Pakistan cricket is bright and we share some good times here on PP.
A big :19: to Saj, MIG, AZ and the rest of PP team.

Without PP, Internet is not worth going on. If only PP became a profit organisation which would enable the special Mods and Admin team to get paid for their valuable time.

Great work by the PP team.
Especially in this past week, the moderators have been extremely busy trying to handle the extra unnecessary threads and extreme posts flowing from PPers. :))

I can personally vouch for the tiring job they do behind the scenes in running the site and doing the mundane day to day tasks as moderating posts and handling users.
Tried it but couldn't commit - and it was amazing to see so many other committed individuals in the team, now and over the years.
Come back !!! :)
Thanks Saqib for your kind words of encouragement
Infact - thanks to all.

Hi Folks! Salam and Greetings to all the lovely Staff!
This thread is to Acknowledge all the great people in PP which I think is the best cricket debating forum over the Internet.
Also, special thanks to Saj bhai for interviewing our favorite cricketing stars and asking interesting and witty questions. He should definitely apply for a commentating position.
Also, to the mods for their hard work and unbiased posts and making PP an entertaining forum bringing people from all over the world to debate and not to mention unite as well.
We never acknowledge something while it exists so come on all, share your thoughts and express thank you to the great site, that has united us all. From Afghans, Pakistanis, Indians, Windies brahs, Bangladeshis, Srilankans, Aussies, English, Kiwis, Proteas to everyone from each corner of the world.
Respect guys! Thanks for all your hard work brothers :moyo
SalamEveryone, be kind enough to show your gratitude to the PP staff and our brothers and sisters. :amla

I have been missing a lot of the quality staff memebrs lately, where have they been? Most of the mods are among the best forumers actually. One of the reasons behind PP's success. Nobody likes being moderated by a bunch of you_know_who :D
Great stuff guys, appreciation from me too. :14:
