LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shaharyar Khan said here on Saturday that present selection policy of the national team would continue in future too. Talking to reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium he said that PCB’s policy regarding the selection of the playing XI was clear and he did not find any reason to change it.
He said that Australian playing XI was selected by the national selection committee but in most of the countries it was done by the tour selection committee comprising tour manager, coach and the captain.
Commenting on the Wasim Bari’s views regarding team’s selection he said that it could be debated but only in the best interest of the team. To a question about the uplifting of game’s standard in the country, he said that they were holding two round table meetings with Test cricketers at Lahore and Karachi to discuss the matters so that a comprehensive policy could be chalked out to put the domestic and International cricket on right track.
To another question about the appointment of Ad-hoc committee, Shaharyar said: "The ad-hoc committee will normally meet once a month but if required will be convened at short notice to consider some specific issues while advisory committee will meet on quarterly basis and will prepare long term policy," he maintained
