View Full Version : Predict Younis Khans remarks in the closing ceremonies
Here are some ideas for YK - best to be prepared :
(smile is prerequisite for all these remarks)
1. We played like Tigers, they played Like Velociraptors
2. We were rusty as we havent played test matches ever in our lives and this is the first time we saw a cricket bat - and btw, is that red thing a cricket ball?
3. Umer Gul was given new size 100 shoes - that explains his no balls
4. Fawad Alam was suffering from mental injuries which is why we couldnt bowl him - but hey, he has a great future, starting from the year 2060 onwards.
5. Malik played like a Cheetah and Yousaf played like a Murgha
6. Misbah will come good in the next 10 years
7. We only had a few bad sessions, unfortunately those were the crucial ones
8. Cricket is a fun game, its for funny people and people who play it like us are jokers.
9. Look we are T20 Champions and you get lows and lows in your life, unfortunately, this is a new low
10. MIG is an idiot and should be banned from Pakpassion :D

Defo number 10.
I think Rustyiness will be used as an excuse and he will probably say the team his hoping to perform well in ODI series.

11. Actually we were missing Salman Butt in this game
12. Actually we had some other plans for the last hour, but Sanga wanted to go home so we agreed to call off the game

When asked about the performances of the youngsters in the team
13) Actually I'm happy that Malik has taken his chance, he's still youngster and we have some plans for him to become a great batsman for the Pakistan.
I think Younus should say "even Malik got a hundred, what does that tell you about how flat the wicket was". Would be awesome.

Err, he wasn't talking about wrestling. He was talking about WWF which is like Pakistani cricket in that it's concerned with endangered species
e.g Pakistani's that can bat or field.

Younis: "They built good partnerships and Sangakkara played really well. But it's not too bad. We created chances in this series but the collapses cost us badly. The balls get soft very quick and the wicket slowed down quite a bit today. We just need to go and hang in there and learn to finish games. We have a good ODI team, with a couple of good allrounders, and hopefully some of the players can carry their good form from this Test into the ODI series."
The balls :)))

MIG, very clever and funny thread. It reminds of a previous similar thread - 'Intros What Do They Really Mean' for the T20 World Cup.

Why is that funny? Have you seen the number of times the ball was changed in this series? It was like every other over.

YOUNIS: "Due to the lack of test cricket we had forgotten the number of days which complete a test match, due to myself reading a article on pakpassion about the introduction of 6 day test matches in the subcontinent we thought we had another day available. Well just a human error nothing else". :yk

Yeah, he suffered his mental injury when I made the brilliant move of giving him his first over in the semi-finals of the T20 WC!

In the captain's corner last weekend (before the 3rd test) he said something like "agar is tarha harain gai to logon ko ghusa to aaiga. team ko fight dikhani chaiye ..."
In Press conference - he will increase his speaking spead to 85-88 range instead of regular 80

It was FUN (Losing series convincingly)!
Boys did very well (To draw meaningless match).
We were out played by SLs (and we are going to do nothing about it - lol)!
Bowlers didn't grab any wickets, thats why we lost (it was Chacha cricket's Job)
This team need time (5-8 years - when all players will retire)

Two things:
1. I distinctly remember most posters, including me saying that even though malik's captaincy wasnt up to the mark, he is still in the learning phase.
2. Maliks' captaincy was poor from the start. His field placings, defensive tactics, etc. were criticized, even though not form the very first series.
YK's captaincy wasnt bad, it was the middle order that failed consistantly
So, malik was allowed a lot of wiggle room than YK, even though YK is clearly a much better captain.
Big Mac
25th July 2009, 00:41
Nah, his captaincy was depressingly unimaginative on the last day
waqar_ahmad
25th July 2009, 03:02
It was a dead pitch. A pitch on which the likes of malik and misbah scored runs has to be dead. YK could not have done much

So he gave up after one session and started playing for the draw? What a wonderful mindset for our captain to have.
YK should not be above criticism - he has made a few mistakes and will undoubtedly make more. Question is whether he will make the same mistake again or not.
Just because Malik, in your opinion, was allowed more legroom doesnt automatically immunize YK to criticism as well
Big Mac
25th July 2009, 11:54
I don't buy the "Malik was given more time" nonsense because before he had captained a single game there were people already sticking the boot into him for supposedly being nothing more than a "puppet" for the PCB administration

Not saying YK is above criticism. But, we did not lose the matches coz of his captaincy. We lost them coz of the 2 greats in the middle order.
IN case of malik, we actually lost games coz of his captaincy and defensive approach

Doubt it, took a complete break from PP for a while because Pakistan becoming increasingly marginalised as a cricketing nation combined with so many people chatting nonsense on here and was going to drive me insane. Only so many times you can read the same recycled opinions that are driven purely by a posters agenda rather than any facts before you lose the will to live so I doubt I made too many posts during that time.

True, we were just in a position where we believed that Sri Lanka were going to smash the record for the highest ever run chase in tests and do it comfortably in a match that we should have won.

Well there you go then. If you were smart enough not to get on the bash malik bandwagon after his first test series, then why do it with YK's first series?
And once again, YK's captaincy skills are many times better than malik. We should have won all the 3 tests. And it was not his fault that we didnt. I dont think I need to revisit that.

The pitch was dead. True, we had a better chance, but still, with Gul out of sorts, and the spinners not doing much, it wasnt easy.
Not saying that YK's captaincy was perfect, but other factors didn tmake it easy

Since when is pointing out his glaringly obvious mistakes, of which he made a few, getting on the anti-Younis bandwagon?
Last time I checked I hadn't called for him to be sacked or dropped.

Jokes apart - I do think YK will be devastating in seaming conditions ( say next tour of England) - I just dont want this to effect his batting which is more important to me.

Well, he was getting consistent outswing. And his seam position was picture perfect, not even a slight wobble.
I think he needs to coach Gul.
