Yes Uzair I know abt Yousuf he did briefly used CA and SS bats when his sponsor was GN btw you can say hes using CA/SS because you can see in the pictures. But without evidence or proof don't u think its wrong to say openly on a forum? Forum read by thousands of people and it can have affect on that brands sales.
I agree with you Majid Bhai. I have also seen Yousuf using CA 10000 Plus bat.

How much are you getting custom made bat for?
Does he give any additional discount with your reference because I remember you once told someone on PP who were buying AS stuff and you gave them your reference then they got further discount. Is it true?
Uncle Sam

$200.00
The regular AS-V3 are around $150.00 shipped to United States.
Yes, Khalid was kind enough to provide a lil discount on my reference to someone who bought a bat from AS. I have been dealing with AS for a little over 15 years.
CD.. did you check my hybrid?

If u don't have any proof of international players using different bats from their sponsors then people should not post about them having different bats. Because these companies pay them lots and lots of money to promote their kit and some people here post crap here by saying their using different bats and this affects their sales. And some manufacturers do take legal proceedings against such posters who do not have proof.
This is an ongoing debate and everyone has to make his own perception.
There is no point proving each other wrong or acting as if you know better than anyone else.
If you talk about a "proof" for example ... The counter argument is as good. Is it a proof that Chris Gayle actually uses an Ihans bat just because he has a sticker on it? Or Chris Gayle and some leading Indian batsmen use Reebok bats JUST because they have a sticker on the bat while Reebok is not in bat manufacturing business? Some batsmen have used a Nike bat, Is Nike in manufacturing business. No.
I remember a few years ago Dean Jones was interviewing Shahid Afridi in a ground and they talked about Afridi's bat.. Afridi showed his bat and said. I prefer 2.7 and don't care about the # of grains ... when the camera was flashed over the "Malik Sher Amin stickers".. Afridi said: And here are the 'stickers' of my sponsor.
On the other hand, Yes, there is a very strong probability that quite a few Australian players may use Gray Nicolls bat and use their original stickers since the biggest and best name in pod shaving world, Stuart Kranzbuhler works of Gray Nicolls Australia and many Australian players are seen at this work shop.
So it's each to his own... You may guess but you will probably never know.
And please provide a source or a link to the news where some internet user was officially warned by Kookaburra for voicing his opinion.

Ohh okayy if I opt out to buy AS V3 then would you give me your reference?
Yes, I did see it. It looks quite impressive. But one thing I was wondering that since it is hybrid which is for both hardball and tapeball won't the bat break after getting a ball around 90 mph odd mark? The grains look aweseom whereas the bow is amazing! I was stunned after seeing that bow in the bat.
If you don't mind can you tell us the price of this bat?
By the way, is this Vantage bat?

It's not primarily made for playing with tape ball since the willow is hard pressed and fully knocked in to make sure that hardball will travel quite fast when hit with vengeance. I just thought about the idea of making a hardball bat on the design of a tennis ball bat :)
The price is $250.00 shipped to United States and no it's not a Vantage bat.
And yes, I will talk to Khalid if you decide to buy an AS-V3.

sher amin's have quite thick edges around 2.9ish. Imagine if Sher was around 2.13ish then this bat would have been nothing in front of that.

Ohh okayy do you mind hinting where is the bat maker based?
Alright I might decide soon so once I do then I will let you know
Also is there a difference between AS V3 willow and the custom willow you are talking about (from AS)?

baalti ... No, I don't own a store. It's just a hobby. I love collecting high quality bats and let them go after keeping 'em for a lil bit and finding the right buyer... and there is no intend of bragging but I have played first class cricket in Pakistan and represented All Pakistan college elven vs All Sri Lanka College eleven in an international match (that was in 90's). I do have a profile on Cricinfo but keeping myself anonymous on these internet forums due to privacy matters.
This bat collecting hobby sometimes can turn quite pricey if you got too much to spend .. I know a friend who owns about 50 of very high end bats. His collection is estimated to be well over £20,000.00..... haina pagal log?

Since I started playing cricket collecting cricket stuff became my hobby as well. I like to have sets such as bat, pads and gloves of same range. But I wish to have all style of pads such as traditional, moulded, non-moulded light weight etc. The GM Original LE pads I had ordered are lost so let's see what I will buy. I think if I buy then I would go buy GM Original D30 Pads and Gloves as I am looking to try out new technology d30

Recently few warnings were given to some posters on another forum who were saying Ricky Ponting was using a different bat from his manufacturer/sponsor Kookaburra without any proof or evidence. This is not a laugh
this is a huge laugh. how naive are you? i will blatantly state that players use bats from various bat makers and then sticker them up. maybe this would encourage youngsters reading this thread to buy a bat that fits them properly, rather than drool over every players bat when realistically that player is not even using that bat model!
please do send the bat makers my way to issue warnings.

ca_gold your clearly not mature enough to understand this. Ppl like you just like to guess which actual bats players are using. If u still think this is a laugh then I suggest you should post on cricket equipment forum and say stuff like this on there. Big manufacturers like adidas, kookaburra 7 GN do monitor cricket equipment forums and you will be warned by admin and if u continue being a clever dude then some manufacturer can take action against you. And stop acting like a primary skool kid who just thinks/guesses without any clue or proof and tells everyone at skool that is true and expects everyone to agree with you. This is not a laughing matter. Most manufacturers take this seriously.

Uncle Sam this is just your theory trying to work out which bats players are using and ur using false facts to prove ur right but ur clearly not.
Abdul Razzaq was using AS bat the yesterday he had burnt in AS stamped on the side of his bat and shape was similar to AS v3 bats and it sounded and pinged like a AS v3. You dont have any proof that he wasnt using an As v3 so stop posting things like this. Because this affecting AS bats sales. And ur suppose to be a friend of this khalid from AS. Do u think he will happy to read this kind of stuff abt them.
Btw I have seen that Afridi video. He would have to complete fool to say that his bats are not MB Malik. No player will ever say hes using different bats from other manufacturers. Afridi has used SS ton bats with MB Malik stickers but the one on the video he showed to dean jones was a genuine MB malik with burnt in side logos.

well... this is where the difference in opinion may come into play, and obviously we are entitled to have our own opinion.
In my opinion, There is an extremely powerful "haasabb" .. and being a follower of Islamic faith "Taqwa" is important.
Famaeyn yamal misqala zarratan sharriyan yarah chapter 99 verrse 8... .. yaani zarray zarray ka hisaab hoga ...
I asked an Aalam, Ya sheikh, what is this "Zarra" that Quran talks about here ... Sheikh replied: If you are in a dark room and a ray of sunlight beams thru a window, you see weightless particales of dust flying in that beam ... one of that weightless dust particles is perhaps a "zarra" or even smaller than that... wallah aalam
The purpose of this note is not to scare anyone off but it's a reminder to myself and all my friends here that Allah is aware of our deeds no matter how small they are.
So yeah, we should try to keep a balance between our spending... for example... it will be equally good to donate the same amount of money that we spend of our "shoqe" to a poor and struggling family in Pakistan and forget about "Haasabb" with Allah.

My young friend, as I said before ... the argument goes both ways and its equally good, there is no need to argue but if a textual debate on the internet highlights a moment in your life than I rest my case ... you win the argument. :)

Asalamalakium,
Few weeks ago I asked a similar question to local Imam.
My question was:
Asalamalakium Brother,
I have heard people saying that one can't spend on themselves more than their needs in Islam. Crossing your needs limit is Haraan or sin. I am very fond of cricket! I love to buy equipments. So rather than having one pair I have around three so are the rest two pairs haaraam?
JazakALLAH Khair
Brother answer:
Wa alykum Al salam
The concept is called "israaf" meaning wasteful "spending in vain money, energy, time, etc"
A Muslim is supposed to live a balanced life. We all have "israaf" one way or another like
- over eating
- prolonging our showers leaving water running
- spending
- smoking
Etc
However, Allah said "I love to see my bounty on my slaves" meaning we should have clean bodies, clean cloth, and we should avoid stinginess "bokhl" which is opposite to "israaf"
The question one should ask himself is
- do I over spend and never give the poor
- do I spend and never spend on islamic knowledge
- do I over spend and never help those who ask me
People are different. I had a sister who has an average job for example who decided to give me $1,000 to allocate to my next book publication and the printing of one of my lectures on DVD's. A millionaire contributed by buying 10 of my books in support of Da'wa at $150. A Multi Millionaire gave me $5 for da'wa :)
Now we kind of understand why the poor enter heaven 500 years before the rich as our beloved prophet said PBUH.
I remember I visited a family one who had domestic disputes where the wife and the husband been fighting intensely, the daughters are lost on a dark path, and the son rarely comes to visit. They called me for help. I went and spent three hours helping them communicate, heal, and calm down. At the end of the night the husband offered me "kabob" and rotti "bread" I rarely eat outside my home or at peoples home. I was however hungry and decided to eat. I learned later that the wife was very upset that I ate the bread. She lives in a $600,000 paid up house :)
To answer your question my good friend, you must ask yourself what do you spend in the way of Allah ! And if your answer is satisfactory then you can have 10 shoes but if the answer is not then even one shoes is questionable.
People have different inner degrees of understanding and connecting to Allah. Wealth is both a bounty and a test. You can look good, buy expensive clothes, entertain your hobbies, live and enjoy but never forget to give in the way of Allah. Once you do, you will not need to ask that question.
I decided that my contribution will be mainly through endless hours of giving khutbah, lectures, and preparation and writing books. What is your contribution through this short journey called life !
May Allah show you the way
I hope it helps! As long one is giving in path of ALLAH (SWT) and is buying stuff for himself then it is acceptable. Whatever one give in path of ALLAH (SWT) is upto him. There are some people who don't want to express it or expose it. If one is proud on what he give for sake of ALLAH (SWT) then everything goes in vain

I'll try n find the afridi bat interview it was on utube but its not there anymore. Afridi said in the interview with Dean Jones "he thinks the balance of the bat is most important and he used lighter bats 2.9 when he batted in australia or England and when in pakistan he would use slightly heavier bats upto 2.11. And the bat he showed to Dean Jones was original MB Malik bat.

Here are few topics on which ppl were warned about players bats . There was one recent topic when someone tried to say Sachin was still using his MRF and not adidas he was warned twice by admin not to say stuff like that without any proof.
If you say a sponsored player using another sponsors equipment you can be busted. If u prove it then its ok but you can still get done even if you have proof. Companies don't like you saying a player doesn't use their gear as it makes there brand seem not good enough for pros! and it affects their sales.

Uncle Sam, just wondering, how do you sell your bats? Do you sell them via ebay, word of mouth etc?
Usually it's word of mouth. My circle of friends and acquaintances kinda know that I do not buy usual/normal stuff that's available penny a pound.
And yes, I have occasionally used Ebay which I think is not a bad place to sell your stuff but kinda iffy place to buy good quality stuff due to too many interested parties which closes the price negotiation door with the seller.

Brother ca_gold, Uncle Sam and others I think we have misunderstood Majid Bhai. I think he is right without having any proof we can not comment on anything. In that case you (ca_gold) presented a proof whereas Majid Bhai agreed upon you saying you are right. But in Abdul Razzaq's case if you have no proof that Abdul is not using AS bat then you are kinda presenting shoddy image of AS.
Even our Religion teaches us we can not comment on anything until we haven't seen it. For example, I can not say a person who lives in another city smokes and drinks alcohol although people surrounding me say that he does. I can not comment or say that he does until I see him doing that.
Hope it clears all the confusion.
Also guys all of you are each other brothers so don't get angry at anyone. Be calm and patience, please don't get rude or harsh to anyone.

Uncle Sam

Nope, I don't have the Aero Strippers... this stuff is not my cup of tea.
On a separate note: Just found out from a common friend that Abdur Razzaq may sell his bat that he played with in UAE to me for about $1000.00
It's a 2.12 blaster with over 40 mm edges.

The spine height is slightly reduced I see in this design but edges are still pretty strong and thick. Toe guard fitted and I assume it's a short handle.
It looks like to be retailed at £180 .00 plus shipping to Canada.

Uncle Sam how much is top of the line Redback Allegiance? If I remember correctly you said that it is £160, right?
Another thing Uncle Sam and others did you guys know that all exports are VAT exempt? Meaning if you are in Canada, States anywhere outisde Europe you do no pay VAT. So the price is automatically reduced by 17.5%
So Uncle Sam if Gary does that then price of Premier Allegiance 1 would be around £132 after exemption. Assumig shipping is £30 then the bat will cost around £160 including postage and packaging. So it doesn't sound bad at all?
But on the other hand Uncle Sam as you said you will be going in May so if you grab bats then you will have to pay £160.
Either way it is same thing. If Gary does it which he should do then it will be a great news!!
What do you think?
I mailed Redback couple of days ago but I did not get reply.
Uncle Sam if it happens (whatever) I said above then InshALLAH I will buy Redback as it would be around $260 CAD which is $60 over what my mom told me to spend.

By the way, is it 160 pounds or 180 pounds? Because on there website it says 180 pounds... If it is 180 Pounds then you are right that 160 does not include VAT

Yaar both bats are lush. The spine runs thru the entire bat on both bats. Uzair both bats are same thickness and same shape. The angle of one bat in pictures makes it look thicker but both are identical bats hard for even me to tell which is which from side pics. I saw this on CA website time back that Slazenger are also official partners with CA. I think the bats are made by both FC sondhi factory and CA. My lower grade slazenger bat has black rubber inserts(hande springs). And the grade one Slazenger bats I bought today have similar springs like most pakistani bats have rubber and cork mix. Lower grade are made by FC sondhi and higher grade by CA but am not sure am just trying to guess. The feel of the lower and higher grade slazenger bats is also slightly different so I think they are made by different manufacturers.

From pictures u wont be able to compare. kookaburra and SG handles are exactly same(bcoz sg make kook bats) but there are some difference with CA and Slazenger handles. You wont be able to notice such things but some ppl who know a lot can work out these things.

Most people who know lot about bats and bat handles probably have understood what I was trying to say. But I dont want to go in more details because there is no need to explain more. I dont have any detail pictures I would have to remove the cotton strings on the bats to show the color of rubber/cork. The lower grade bats with black rubber springs I think are indian made and the higher grade bats with brown springs with cork n rubber mixed are made in Pakistan. And because the cork and rubber used in slazenger handles is same as pakistani bats and thats why I think they are made by CA. I've also heard CA & MB Malik make Slazenger bats for South Africa.
Cover Drive
27th February 2010, 00:02
Majid Bhai I understand what you are saying but from the picture if handles I do not think these bats are made by CA. The reason why I am saying that is because if you look CA bats you will notice the handle is evenly roused meaning there is no "bump" or anything like that. For example in these handles you can see the top being a bit bigger compare to handle itself. It is a bit hard to explain but I am pretty sure you get what I mean
Knightrider
27th February 2010, 00:17
Uzair you havnt really understood what I said. Am talking about the rubber/cork springs in the handles and not the shape of the handles at the top. I dont mean the knob on the handle. Some CA bats have them and some don't. Any bat maker can shape handles differently. You cant really say who the bat maker is by just the shape of the handle but with the rubber n cork springs you can because I have only seen that type of springs on Pakistani bats CA, MB & AS.

The handle shape varies so much on Pakistan bats some are thin/thick and some have knob at the top of handle. when CA 1st released the ca plus 10k LE and ca plus 12k they had really nice shaped slight oval shaped handle but they don't carefully shape the handle anymore and they sometimes make it 2 thin. Any bat maker can shape handles differently. CA can make oval shape handles for Slazenger & woodworm etc

Most Pakistani players use custom made MB, AS, CA or Ihsan especially made for them. Pakistani brands are more then good enough for pros. I dont like people slating off pakistani brands saying they are not good enough for pros. Likes of M Yousuf & Kamran Akmal used CA bats when they were sponsored by English Companies. After saying "Asalamalakoum" I asked him only one question and that was, "Which bat do you use?". He said that, "MB". I am like for sure? He added "Yes". I later said that when you ask players that which bat are you using they don't reveal the batmaker. So he interupted and said "No my bats are made by MB. In fact, it is Rashid Bhai (Store owner) who makes bats for him". At the end I said "JazakALLAH' and walked away
Hope it clears some confusion

^^ CD, yep that may very well be true but the ambiguity still prevails since some players do use the bat made by the same manufacture who's stickers appear on the bat and some players don't do that.... all depends on who has sponsored you.
A friend ask the same question from Rana Naveed ul Hassan and he replied, Newbery.
Do u really think Shoaib Malik is using an original Woodworm bat? I mean the bat does not even have those curvy shoulders which is the trade mark of Woodworm .... or do u really believe that Tendulkar uses an Adidas bat? The answer to both question is 'probably not'..... so it ends up to each of us as how we make our minds based on perception, expertize and good guess work to know which bat a player is using.
Did u get a chance to pick and feel Cheema's bat?

Uhmm yeah I agree with you. I would say it is 50-50. I mean some players do use the bat with respective bat maker stickers whereas some players use different bat maker(s) bat from the stickers.
Hell no!! Both are using different bat maker bats from the stickers. Sachin bat is not even in the market. I mean Addidas bat with those type of stickers is not in the market. Yup, there are no curves on Malik's Woodworm bat shoulders. If I am correct I think Woodworm has stickers on the side as well whereas Malik's bat just have two stickers (front and back)
He was just there to meet those store owners. I mean he was not there to practice or anything. He just came to visit the store. That store is called 'Hagee Sports' and they are the only one who has original MB Malik Bubber Sher with Rizwan Cheema's autograph rather than Afridi's. So I believe what he said was true.

Uzair- how is their store able to put Cheema's signature on a bat that is endorsed by Afridi.....are you sure that the bat is not fake? I am learning a little more about bats (thanks to this thread) and I have seen an influx of fake bats in Toronto stores (I will not name them for obvious reasons).

Also, I went to a store last week and asked the guy how much he sells Bubber Sher for. Once I revealed the price I bought it for, he right away tells me that my bat is fake.
Where in fact his bat didn't even have Afridi's signature on it and the stickers on the edge were missing too.

They might have strcuk a deal with MB Malik. You will only find that bat at Hagee Sports.
I am 100% sure that those bats are original
You should name those stores so it will make those people aware of fake seller in the market. I would say the first one is Khan Sports

Yes I did.....the reason why he got all paranoid was because he sells it for $300+ and for me to tell him that I got it for around $140, he obviously thought that now I would go around telling ppl that how they are tripling their profits.
The name of the store is power play sports in Scarborough. He had an Ihsan Inferno which was a total fake as I myself looked at one at UT sports.

Thats true. Buyers here are not aware of actual value of the bats. Some of them are selling for $300+ and they are fake
Uhmm PowerPlay. I have seen there soft around so I always wondered which store it is. But thanks for making me aware of it

Ohh okayy. Check out there stuff and let me know how is it. I called them today and asked them price of GN 4 Star bat. They told me it is $225 whereas AKPRO seeks it for $210. There are alot of Malik Sher's floating around in Toronto. I bought one from Lords in Karachi, according to Khan Sports, it was fake. i know from the willow quality, ping, pick up - it's not fake. Toronto stores are quick to call any bat not bought from their store as fake.
QASRA is the best for grey nicolls products - as they are an official supplier. I have personally bought a predator there, and my team mates have bought nitros and evos this season. The difference between him and AK Pro is the willow quality. They may be slightly cheaper, but make sure you compare the grains on the AK Pro vs QASRA peices. I find Qasra gets better willow. Could be due to the timing of when they buy their shipments. CD - i got a great price on mine as I've known Shariff for since he opened. Most people wont get the deal i got on my predator. Also - i'll send you pics of the Pads very soon. I didnt sell them this weekend cuz i knew you were interested.
and the BAS is being knocked in right now - once i take it in the nets I'll get a better idea of how it goes!

to be honest - im even wary of hagee sports. If you look at the Grey Nicolls they have - they seem to be of the cheapest willow quality. The store owner didnt even know the difference between the various grades of GN products - hence I'm not even sure if those are genuine. Also - his GN are bleached/painted white if you notice. Batmakers will do this to hide the gross imperfections/ poor willow quality.
Though powerplay sports might have said your bat is fake - they do get real SF and Kookaburra Bats if your in the market for those. However, even Qasra is about to recieve some GMs as well. If i had to buy a bat in toronto - it would be qasra. My handle broke two years ago - he actually sent it back to GN and had it fixed. I didnt pay a penny and during that time he leant me a powerbow. I'm not sure any other retailer in Toronto would do that.

and thanks for the comments - have to say that CA Gold was an absolute belter. It's almost 8 years old and the bat I scored my first century, hence I've never gotten rid of it.
I've had alot more bats - but i normally sell them or pass them on to someone deserving. Over the years i've had the Ihsan King, SS Ton Viru 309, Slazenger V200. CA 5000.
so far - the Grey Nicolls and CA Gold have been top notch. I have high hopes for the BAS as I think it has the best willow of all the bats I've ever bought.

The guy who is at Khan Sports is not very friendly or well mannered I would say. One of my club mate went to Pakistan and got bats for our club member. So when that club mate handed over the bat to another club mate this guy would burn from inside. I mean he was spying and he would become jealous of that guy. He once told me that this guy is ruining my business by selling bats here. In fact, that club member was just helping other out so they don't pay extra bucks than the value of the bat
Make sense. I have never seen Qasra's bat so I really can't comment. But I have seen AKPro's bats and some of them were not very eye pleasing. I remember one of my club mate bought a Carbon Core Handle Gray Nicolls Fusion and he was in hurry so he did not check out the bat in the store but once he took it home and saw it, he found out that it is not carbon core handle bat.
Yeahh whenever you have time just send me couple of pictures of the pads
Ohh okay. I saw the pictures of it and it looks quite good. I just want to ask you that how much does it weighs? If you don't mind can I ask you how much did you pay for it?

Ohh for that I would not blame Hagee Sports. I have seen many store selling bleached bats so I don't think I would blame Hagee whatsoever. Uhmm I don't think his bats are fake. I saw all of his Gray Nicolls, GM and other bats and they are certainly not fake. He has Inferno 950 and that is very good stick which he has got in stock.
I have never been to Powerplay sports so I really can't comment on them as well
Oh really? I only know one guy who I think is Calgary. He has GM in stock
That sound great. My Gray Nicolls Powerbow bat got cracks on the face of the bat. I called Johnatan at AKPro and told him I want to get it refurb. He told me to come in so he will have a look at the bat but on the same note he also said that I will have to pay for shipping and everything. So I am not sure what happens. I will have to go to him and see what he has to say. But I agree with you that AK Pro would not do what Qasra did with you.

It's quite good mate, but I prefer to use the unstickered bat I got from Miandad for 3500 rupees when I went to Karachi recently. Lovely piece of wood, the edges aren't too thick but the willow is absolutely superb, the ping of the bat (I would say) is better than the Bubber Sher. So worth the money. I'll post pics of it when I can.

That's quite interesting to hear. I have heard many people saying that these 'unbranded' bats are very good. Your Bubber Sher will perform. Sometimes there are several other factors which should be considered as well. For instance, one can assume that your 'unbranded' bat is soft pressed (meaning in the begining it will have very good ping but after a while it will start to decline) and vice versa for hard pressed bat. Just a question regarding Bubber Sher than did you knock it? Also how many grains does it have?
Sure do post pictures when you can

Yes, I don't think Masuri is authentic but again, I don't know how to tell them apart anyway. As long as it gets the job done, I am golden :-)
I just oiled the 3 UT bats and ASV3....Bubber Sher were sold two days ago. I brought one for myself but the UT bat felt better for some reason.

Good to hear that your Bubber Sher got sold. Yaar it doesn't matter which brand stick you are holding it is just how it feels that's matter. Uncle Sam once said that it is just matter of prefernce.
Ohh okay. You still have very good bats. If I were you I would not take AS V3 to the practice this weekend. I am assuming you will be playing after a long time so you will be rusty. With new ball you might get few edges so that harms the new bat. But it is upto you.

Haven't used any of their bats personally but word on the street is that thick edges are their specialty, specially in the Synth bat. Ask your friend to keep an eye for used one or when Vantage puts their stuff on some sorta huge discount sale .. usually he does it. I guess he is also open to price negotiation.

Yes, Dan from Vantage does put huge sale. I was looking at his threads on ___ forum.
Synth is amazing!! I saw it on his website and it is stunning!! Do you know what is that "dot" on the toe of Lithium bat?
Also how far is your G2 Vantage bat? Has it been pressed?

Mine is not a Vantage, but yes, it is hard pressed and knocked in as according to my desires.
The dot under the toe is present in many bat bats. Usually when they put the bat on the spinner to wrap the cord on the handle, they need to drill this small hole to hold the bat in the equipment.

So did you get your bat by any chance?
Have a look at Redback's new soft. It is worth having a look. The split gloves look like M&H gloves.
Sometimes prices seems to be fine but the shipping makes it look worst!! For example, a website I saw the other day (not sure if I can name it) they had stuff on clearence and it was very good so if you get anything shipping to Canada is 40 Pounds. Meaning if you get a ball shipping would be 40 Pounds :))

CD - what league in EDCl do you play in & what kind of balls do they use in the game? also what kind of balls are you practicing with?
If it's a low quality ball - it can easily break your redback (or any bat for that matter). Also - how are the grounds, can the ball travel all the way along the ground for four? theres only a few grounds in Toronto that i think this would be the case.
some of these bats are great if you play on proper grounds, but if you have to score runs hitting over the top - will they be the best?

When Vantage last had sale they sold G1 for 65 Pounds so if you get of that this time. 65 + 45 = 110 Pounds which is around $170ish. You would still save $90 bucks!

Why are u trying to squeeze the sh!t out of a dead horse unless you wanna keep it for nets or something and don't wanna spend more than $10.00? For Self repair, you can do a learning experiment... go to a workshop or burrow a mechanic's vice from someone and clamp it right after u apply the glue and stuff.

In Brampton there are quite few grounds compare ot the size of the city. Mostly all of the grounds have green matting similar to the one which is used in indoors. Ohh noo! The grass is is big so the ball hardly travels to the boundary when you play a cover drive or stroke. Last year it rained quite alot so that makes a bit harder for ball to travel all the way
Uhmm Uncle Sam says that Redback whole bat seems to be sweetspot so I would take his words in consideration

Ohh that sense. I understand what you mean. Per yaar becharree bat kaa kya kasorr haii kii ball boundary per nahi gayee? lol
In that sense I would blame City of Brampton as they don't grass very often and sometimes it is because of rain. Once it rains so the out field becomes heavy so then the ball need to be hit with much more power. If it is really sunny day then I am sure the ball can race towards the boundary
In that case C6+ bats are the best :D :D :D

This bat is 2.8 . I told them that i want 2.8 with 11-12 grains. It has amazing balance, looks huge but is exactly 2.8. Havent tried it yet, but knocked it with a mallet and the sound was really good, and it has a huge sweet spot. :razaaq
The pads G-200 are very light and comfortable. The gloves are AS-V3, very protective, maybe a bit small for those with bigger hands than average, but the quality is excellent.
The helmet is light and fits really good with adjustment options. I know that helmet doesnt look good on that picture, but is by far the best pakistani helmet i have tried.

That AS-V3 should be a blaster if it's in fact its a 2.8er
I would buy one of those but have owned many bats of the same class, money is also factor when you buy something that you don't really need.
But these days, I am after a Mongoose CoR3 Custom Pro ... a used one. I have used a bat which was based on the same design and was amazed how nice the balance felt when the blade was reduced by 1.5 inches and handle was prolonged by 1.5 inches to maintain the over all size...
Just look at the toe width
http://www4.picturepush.com/photo/a/3042762/img/3042762.jpg (http://picturepush.com/public/3042762)
and look at the edge that runs with the same width all across the bat length.

I am very tempted to use my ASV3 in the nets tomorrow.....hopefully I will not succumb to it!
lol.. i know the feeling but hey... that's the bat's destiny. Make sure to knock it thru very well and don't start by facing fast bowlers.

Sounds great! I hope the bat goes really well for you and I also hope you score tons of runs with it. LAstly I hope it last really long. I reckon these type of bats are great for playing strokes off front foot and back foot
By any chnace are those pads bulky? How do they fit when you wear them? Are you able to run in them easily?
The gloves do look nice in the pictures. They offer test level protection so they should have something special.
How is the helmet in terms of comfort?
I hope your stuff last really long and serves you really well

loll..if you have knocked it in then it will be fine. Tr to play against good quality old balls and avoid playing from toe area
So far I have witnessed two bat breakage from toe area due to its strength and poor quality balls

*** amazing craftsmanship ***

In toe picture it looks likes it is middle of sweetspot. It it massive!
There is just .5 inch difference between this bat and Newbery 20/20
Uncle Sam just curious how much are these Mongoose bats? (not a custom made)

Acha theek hai. Just out of curiousity is it via DHL or Pakistan Post? If Pakistan Post then maximum it might take around 2 weeks but sometimes you can get a bat within a week
Customs charges are a bit difficult to avoid. The only possible way to avoid them is if you declare a low value. But in that imagine if it get lost. Then? you will get that amount only, nothing more. The maximum value you can declare for a gift value is $60 so anything about that will get custom. For example, if you declare that the bat value is $200 then you will have to pay tax on $140 + $5 or $8 (duty charges but this depends on Custom people). On the other hand, if it is your item (meanin it is not declared as a gift) then the maximum value is $20 and anything over that gets custom. Lately these custom people have been quite strict with stuff coming from Pakistan. One of my friends two bat got drilled wwhereas he got his bats via FeDex (they were shipped from Sailkot). But before these two bats he got one bat from Pakistan same person, same route, same courier (everything was the same but the only difference was this time it was one bat.) This one bat did not get treated. It depends on the custom people. I think if you are getting two bats at the same time (in one parcel) then there are high chances of it getting treated
I hope it makes sense
I did not by any chance meant to scare you anything.

What percent is the tax i have to pay on the amount that is above $60?
Is it just from Pakistan, or do they tax packages coming from Europe too?
