In Karachi the best place to buy cricket accessories is UT Sports because there stuff is legit and cheap as well. This summer I told my mom to get me CA 120000 Pads and gloves she bought them from Lahore (original) for Rs.5000 both gloves and pads whereas UT Sports in Karachi was selling them for Rs.3200 both gloves and pads. I didn't mind paying the extra 1800 difference I just told you this just to give you an idea of there prices. I called in UT Sports few days ago and the price for Bubber Sher was RS.13000 and Sher Amin was Rs.7500
Hope it helps!

What are you talking about? Malik bats are one the best bats you can get in the market don't buy crape like slazenger, GM or any other brand just because they have an english name. They are all made in India and as far as I know I have used most bats no other bat comes close to Malik.

Not so sure whether Buber Sher bat comes in different weights. The one I used was a little heavy for me, but it had a really great knock. Anything you play from the middle of the bat will go far, so if you can manage heavy bats then Buber Sher is one of the bests!

Adam Lehri Market, Karimabad, F.B. Area.
Karachi, 74200
Phone: +92-21-6338350

For everybody that wanted to know where the stores are.. there is one in Defence on Kh-e-Badr behind the 26th street KFC and the main one is in Karimabad in FB Area very close to Meena Bazaar.
The defence store doesn't have the same range as the main store does but if you know what you're looking for they'll arrange it from the main store within a day

hi there, i can help u as well. UT's owner and Anwer Miandad (miandad shop's owner are both dear friends of mine) due to cricket we played together specially with anwer.
anyhow i recommend that u buy ur stuff from UT and not miandad cuz he will probably charge u more than UT. also in UT u can contact Shakeel and give him my name and he can assist u with the best possible way and price. Just tell him u are my friend from canada. i cant find his cell number but i will look again.
as for the bats u dont want to go with anything other than CA, Malik. In pakistan usually generic bats are made and then any sticker u want then will put it for u. But with CA or Malik bats they cannot do that, as they two companies have a hold in the market and they fine anyone who is trying to sell a fake ca or malik.
CA 12000 plus use to be a wonderful bat and comes in different weights. CA 10000 also was a great bat and use to cost around 8K. malik bubbre or amin should be a safe bet as well, and they do come in different weights.
If u want a really light bat then u are looking for anything around 2.7 to 2.9 lbs.
If u r looking for a medium weight bat then u r look for 2.10 lbs
anything more than 2.10 is heavy from 2.10 - 2.13.
remember the heavier u go, the sweeter the middle. if u r a storke player and want to do both hard hitting and timing, i would pick a medium bat.
one more thing, remember that the balance of the bat is the most important thing regardless of weight, and it is important that u and specially u pick up the bat and see if it feels good, and right in ur hands.
I stopped playing cricket a year back so i am not in touch with the latest rates, but if u are serious i can call shakeel for u depending on what u need, and then u can call him.

My name is Muneeb, and i live in toronto. so u can say that. in fact just tell him u are muneeb and rafiullah's friend. that will at least guarantee you hopefully a good quality bat and may be some price discount :)
Someone above asked about the grains. its the vertical lines on the face of the bat. A good bat should have straight grians. with CA and Sheer mostly grains are straight since they are good quality bats. the plane non branded bats, u have to check the grains to make sure they are straights.
one thing to remember when picking a bat is that the narrower the distance between grains, the softer the bat will be and will have good timing and bat will become better and better with time, but the bat life could possibly be less.
the wider the distance between grains, the harder the bat will be and will be good for hard hitting, ready to play from the begning and bat life will be long. wider grains are good for hard hitters and heavy bats.
good luck

Good to see so much comradery flowing here mashallah!
What would the experts say about the TOP 3 bats are for number 6 position generally in club level cricket, a couple of overs to block and singles and then hit out really, light to medium, good graining, possibly medium distance graining and nice generic balance and curve???????????????
I am currently using CA 20 20 bat, did not knock, pretty good so far, love the balance and weight, thinking of getting one more, more solid in long run as back up, From Metro Sports opposite Jinnah Sports in Saddar.
I already had two crap unbranded ones...before that I played with one called Miandad!! was cheap and decent but not great but iof course you pay for what you get, generally speaking unless you get ripped off.
any suggestions?

Do you mind elaborating a bit more on CA20/20 because I got this bat as a gift didn't manage to use it properly so far. If you don't mind then can you tell me more about it's performance? I would really appreciate your comments and time
If you were to buy either Bubber Sher or Sher Amin then I would suggest you Sher Amin but if you don't mind spending a bit more then surely go for Bubber Sher :P (I am personally desperate to buy one Bubber Sher that's why I may recommend it to everyone loll). Honestly i am not aware of any other bats performance unless you want to go with Gray Nicolls then a 3 star bat wouldn't be bad either because it will last much longer than Bubber Sher and/or Sher Amin. Theoretically if you buy a 5-8 grains bat it would be best for you since you bat at number 6 so you basically play like MoYo, YK etc so you probably don't need a superior end bat because they tend tohave a shorter life rather than 5-8 grains bat (similar to CA 20/20). One thig I have noticed in these two MB Malik bats is that they generally have a big sweet spot. For instance if you manage to hit the ball just below the sticker it will still go far despite you didn't middle it properly
Hope it helps! :P
I apologize if I wasn't able to help you out because I am not fully aware of all bats in the market (just few)
Few bats of which I am aware of and are good
CA 10000 Plus (many PPers have it and got positive feedback)

Any other bats besides MB or CA that should be considered? I need to buy a couple of bats for the team and any decent bat would do, doesn't have to be Bubber Sher or CA 12000.

since u are going at number 6, i would recommend a bit heavier bat may be 2.10 or above cuz by the hopefully then ball is old hence u need a bit more in the bat to hit the ball far. go with wider grains. It also depends on what kind of pitch u play, is it hard, soft, matting, cement etc. if u play on a pitch where ball doesnt come on to the bat, u need a heavy bat as u need all the help u can get to time the ball. if its a hard pitch ur ok with any bat.
As for the bats that fit ur catagory, there is not such thing as all brands CA/Malik comes in different grains, weights, balance, sweet spots, curve etc.
i would recommend CA 10K, 2.9 weight, medium to wide grain.
balance u have to check yourself cuz same brand bat can have different balance. so two CA 10K bats will have very different balance, which basically depends on how the wood was pressed when the bat was made. balance is something no once can choose for u, only u can select it as its the feel in ur hand.

I just chcked CA website I did not see any 'CA Pro 2000' intact I saw 'CA Pro 20/20', I am not sure which one are you talking about. If it is Pro 20/20, then it is a better version of CA 20/20 which I currently have. 20/20 is pretty good bat, it is light weight (2.7 or 2.8), it has around 8 grains, good balance, the sweet spot is alright. I mean if I hit the ball it won't really go far I think this is because I did not knock it at all. I haven't used 20/20 much just used it once or twice so far. But another PPer posted comments on 20/20 above you can also read them. Also I once measured it is 65mm thick. So after reading these comments on CA 20/20 you can somewhat get an idea what CA Pro 20/20 would be like. Thus it will be much better than CA 20/20. Thanks mate. I did not knock CA 20/20 and still is good for me. The bottom, like any other bat needs to be knocked in and edges tapped in to avoid silly nicks but overall been good given the fact i have not knocked it except here and there, love the balance and it is light, just scored my half century last Sunday so cant complain. I did not even look in a hurry at the grain that much when i bought, fell in love with the balance and feel and the sweet spot, also it was a bit cheaper than CA10K.
I play on grass pitch with uneven and low bounce unless a genuine quickie or seamer comes in who cant extract more bounce.

Jazak ALLAH Kar Brother for your informative answer.......I got this bat as a gift from a club fellow. I didn't get a chance to use it much but from whatever I used it seemed brillant bat. I was amazed to see how thick the bat was. Man once I measured it and it was 65 mm thick. I was like Woooow. Then I was like man this CA 20/20 bat is thin loll Anyways Jazak ALLAH Kar for your informative response I will be looking forward to use this bat on Saturday as we have a game :P

I have both these bats bought from Lahore last January. Having played a season with them in the UK I would say the Sher Amin is the better bat. They both have a similar ping and obviously the manufacture quality is the same. I think you pay more for the Bubber because it is the new Afridi bat and also the stickers are in fact tattoos on the one I have. This is not good as the paint comes off if the ball hits the splice or if the bat gets wet (which it invariably does playing in England). I believe they have now changed to proper stickers on the newer bubbers but unfortunately too late for me.
I would suggest saving a buck or two and buying the Sher Amin.

The thickness of the two bats - there is minimal difference. The Sher Amin has also a thick blade and thick edges. Do you need the bat to be so thick? Probably not as long as you strike the ball properly.
The sweet spot on both bats is lower down the blade compared to english bats. I also have an old Slazenger v500 and the sweet spot is definitely higher up on the slazenger.
Performance wise both are very similar. They are both well balanced with nice pick up on both. The ball flies off both equally as well.
I bought the bubber because it was the new thing and yes it is a nice bat. The only drawback is the paint finish. If you can get a bubber with stickers then get one of those, it certainly turns heads and sparks conversation!
If you can't get one with stickers then get a Sher Amin.

1. Not quite sure because it is a tough call. I haven't quite used either so sorry
2. I have CA 20/20. But before comparing CA 20/20 with Gray Nicolls you will have to find which bat are you looking for because there are different levels for Gray Nicolls bat (like 3 Star, 4 Star etc). I also have a Gray Nicolls bat, mine is Powerbow 3 Star (which is 60 mm thick and CA 20/20 is 65 mm thick). When I once compared the two bats I found out that when I hit the ball with Gray Nicolls it goes further compare to CA 20/20. I am not sure maybe this is because of knocking. I knocked in Gray Nicolls (alot seriously) but I never knocked in CA 20/20. As far grains are concerned CA 20/20 has around 8 grains whereas my Gray Nicolls have 4-5 (not quite sure if it 4 or 5). Whenever someone sees my Gray Nicolls bat in my club he always tell me that your Gray Nicolls bat will last much longer compare to CA 20/20 because for Gray Nicolls grains are wider apart.

I will need some guidance on bats too....going to Karachi inshallah in January and would like to know what to look for.
i.e.
Grains (how many should I be looking for)
Thickness
Weight
etc.
I am hearing a lot of good things about Bubber Sher so that might be the ultimate pick - can I get a Kahuna in Karachi? A real one that is??
As far my knowledge of bats is I would recommend you few things to consider before purchasing the bat. Always have your hands on the bat making sure how does it feels on your hands and more importantly the balance. When looking grains always remember that more the grains are sooner the bat will start to crack. In other words, lower the amount of the grains longer the bat will last. More grains bat usually doesn't require knocking whereas less grains bat requires alot of knocking. For instance, Bubber Sher has around 11-12 grains this bat will start to crack in a year or two. On the other hand a bat with 4-5 grains will last much longer than 11-12 grains bat. The thickest bat I have seen is Bubber Sher. I am not quite about thickness. All I know thicker the bat further the ball will go :( As far weight is concerned you will have to check it out what weight is good for you and your wrist (heavier bats can cause damage to your wrist). I have 3 bats and there weight range is 2.6-2.8 lbs and that is pretty light for me. I have seen and held a bat which weighs 2.10 lbs. That was fine for me as well but I like using light weight bats.
I am pretty sure it is really hard to find Kahuna in Karachi, especially original one and if you do find a Kahuna in Karachi it will be expensive because Kahuna's are not made in Pakistan so imported stuff tends to be expensive than local market. My suggestion to you would be that if you were to buy Kahuna then buy it online from a legit website rather than wasting your money buying it from Pakistan which at the end will be fake (most likely)
I hope it helps

Isnt that a myth really? I have heard that the more grains on the bat, the better...
Hence Grade 1 English willow is expensive.
If you take care of the bat, it will last long, no matter how many grains on it

Hello! Recently i have been in touch with a supplier in Pakistan who has offered me Bubber Sher and Ihsan Inferno 950 at a reasonable price. But after looking at the pictures im in doubt whether the bats are original or not, although the supplier has guaranteed that all their bats are authentic.
Im posting pictures of the bats, so those of you who got knowledge about cricket bats plz comment

I am not sure about Ihsan bat but as far Bubber Sher is concerned it is fake in my opinion. The reason behind this fact is that the Bubber Sher has much more grains than the one in the picture (picture has around 6 grains but original Bubber Sher's which I have seen so far have around 13 grains). If the bat has sticker on front and back then it is probably fake because I have heard few people saying that Bubber Sher with stickers are fake whereas Bubber Sher which are painted are original. These are two reasons why I am saying it is fake not sure about others

Thank you for the comment. Yes, i agree with you, the bubber sher looks very fake and Ihsan is a bit better. I think i should rather buy from an established online shop, because if one of the bat can be fake then im unsure if the others are original or not.
Has anyone used a Inferno 950? How is the stroke, middle, balance etc

Well when it comes to English willows then I believe grains vary by the grade level of willow. There are 4 types of English willows, grade 1 being the best one and usually have 12-15 grains. 6-8 grains doesn't mean that its a bad or fake bat. It could just be a grade 2 or 3 willow bat, which may not be as good as grade 1 but they do last long and got really nice stroke. I have personally used a genuine Kashmir willow Malik bat and it was amazing, much better than my teammates English willow bats. Genuine Kashmir willow come in two grading. Grade 1 Kashmir willow is as good as grade 3 English willow, but these days its better to avoid buying Kashmir willow bats as they are of much worse quality & are not even genuine Kashmir willows.....typical desi going. :)

Can you tell more about Kashmiri Willow? They are cheap in price as well, right? Do you knock it? Also how many grains does grade 1 Kashmiri Willow has? I have no idea about Kashmiri Willow bats nor have seen them :(

You are right more grains better the bat is. I have posted this in my older posts as well. Yes Grade 1 English willow is most expensive and the best willow. By take care what do you mean? Oiling, right? Then knocking, right?

Everyone who sees it loves it, bunch of teammates used it in nets too and had nothing but positive things to say about the bat.

Yes, Kashmir willows are a lot cheaper. Sachin, Dravid, Inzy, and most Asian players in 90s used to play with Kashmir willow bats, so you can guess they can't be that bad. I have never seen any Kashmir willow with more than 8 grains. These days its not easy to find a good Kashmir willow bat reason being lots of fake and poor quality bats out there, unless you are getting it from a store and storeguy tells you the truth which bat is good and which isn't. Never buy a Kashmir willow online especially from a place like e-bay.

I ll appreciate your response.No. I have not bought anything from an auction site yet. I may buy a balla if I had to but not a Bat. When I was growing up all you needed was a balla and tennis ball. What if you also buy a ball and it may match the bat.

I got that bat as a gift from a fellow club member. I am pretty sure it is easily available in the market. Btw where are you getting it from in Pakistan? If Karachi try UT Sports. I called UT Sports about a month and a half ago to ask price of few products. CA 20/20 was around Rs. 3500. As far weight is concerned the one I have is around 2.7-2.8 lbs whereas I have also seen CA 20/20 which weighs 2.13lbs.

I think both CA10000 & Malik Bubber sher are priced between Rs. 10,000-14,000.
Even if they are Rs 12,000 - it works out to about $150 Canadian! much cheaper compared to what I have seen online as both bats are being sold for $200+...I have seen it as high as $300 on one site.

One of my fellow club member bought Bubber Sher for $120 (without shipping). Online (like on Toronto Kijiji and Craigslist) I have seen people selling it for $350 used and there is no guarantee that it is original. He is going Pakistan next month. I am really keen to buy it. But now I am double minded. I have CA 12000+ pads and gloves, so should I buy MB Malik Bubber Sher or CA 12000+? If anyone was in my position what would have you done? Please give me your suggestions it would be really appreciated

That's pretty cheap...I have never seen a bat priced that low even on kijiji. As far as your choices are concerned, I don't think you could wrong with either of the two.
I am going to Pakistan as well inshallah in January so the plan is to bring back a couple of good bats.

No UT Sports does not have a branch in Lahore. However, I got pads and gloves for myself from Lahore. I didn't go Lahore this summer but my mom got these pads for me and she told me that she got them from Liberty (there is a sports shop in the basement not quite sure where exactly it is, but if you need to know I can surely ask her for you). She got CA 12000+ pads and gloves both for Rs.5000 whereas I called UT Sports around a month ago and asked them the price of it they told me they are Rs.3200 so she paid Rs.1800 more than UT sports price but who cares.

I am not aware of any websites which are in England. £75 will be about 10000 Rs???? Get one shipped from Pakistan. You probably will need a person to buy it in Pakistan and ship it for you (maybe someone traveling). If you buy one yourself on phone or website then two problems:
- No one gets to look at the bat before buying (you can forget about returning it probably)
- You calling yourself and having them ship the cost will be higher. Not just the shipping cost but maybe also the bat price

Hi Guys and salam!
I need to buy a bat in Khi (although I can buy from Lahore too as I might be there for a wedding but not good enough deals or contacts being mentioned here) and want buy only one bat - the best according to what I am after and situation:
1 – I have one old cheap unbranded Minadad bat – is solid to do ‘tuc tuck and ocassional shots, no probs, been old ally of mine but not being used now as the curve and balance is not so great.
2 – I have got CA 20/20 – no knocking done, played this season, except the bottom like many bats, good for the price and has good sweet spot but is not heavy as I wanted a light bat, it has got relatively good balance and curve.
3 – Now that I am trying to concentrate on my batting, being a swing/seam bowler all my cricketing life, I realised that I have enjoyed batting every now and then and can play some shots too if I concentrate hard enough to wait for the right balls – I always had good defence, so now I think I need a relatively (compared to CA 20/20) heavier bat, I am slim so do not want too heavy but something heavier than CA 20/20 with heavier, bouncier and more solid sweet spot with more power – got out twice hitting at long off, skying it - more to do with my batting skill perhaps, follow through and use of bottom hand then any thing else - but have also managed to clear the ropes aerially 4 times at mid wicket and mid on with the same bat – but still think slightly heavier (not too heavy) and more solid middle spot would help next season.
Now I do not particularly want to knock the bat really if I can help it but I do understand all bats do need some kind of knocking, especially the edges of the bat and bottom part but to repeat I do not really want to knock if I can help it except for the sides and bottom a little bit for a couple of days at the most. With that in mind, can the batting experts tell me what to go for and things to keep in mind:
1 - CA 10000 or CA 120000 or SHER BUBBER – or indeed any thing else better?
2 – I do not want it to start decaying/splitting in one or two year.
3 – I bat at number 6 at the moment, either slog with few overs left, or mostly batting collapse and lots of overs and keep one end going with shots at right deliveries and rotating strikes
4 – I know it may be bizzare but there is a distant possibility that I be push on to open the innings (I have done for friendlies and for weaker Saturday elevens) because of relatively better defensive skills so I need the keep that in mind.
5 – I do want it to stay hit if I go mad max with it – so more grain perhaps? 8/10/12/14? But do not want it to split in a year or two so not sure about sher bubber as colleagues have said it might break in 1 year or 2?
6 – so medium or medium to heavy weight, with goooooooood sweet spot and good power with relatively better (3/4/5) year longitivity?
7 – I do not mind paying the right price, as long as I am being ripped off and paying the normal Pak rate (not overseas or web prices etc)
8 – How do I make sure absolutely that it is the ‘genuine’ article? and best bat according to above?
What do the batting experts or bat experts suggest?

Hi Guys and salam!
Walakiumasalam brother,
just to let you know first that I am not a bat expert :P, but I will try my best to answer each question
.........
Since you already own CA 2020 and you are looking for a slightly heavier bat which has a good sweet spot. In other words which have a strong sweet spot and big sweet spot I would recommend you Sher Amin or Bubber Sher. now the difference between these two which I have noticed after having look at them is that Bubber Sher has a bit more grains, a bit thicker, a bit powerful compare to Sher Amin and a bit expensive. I am pretty sure that you will be able to clear the boundary with either bats. The price of Sher amin (as confirmed today, I called UT sports in the morning) is Rs. 7500 whereas Bubber Sher is Rs.12500. Now it is upto you to decide which one should be brought. After reading above post (just paragraph number 3) I would go for Bubber Sher because I like Bubber Sher more than Sher Amin
One of my club member has both Sher Amin and Bubber sher. This guy is slogger he comes to crease and start slogging from ball one he is 'wannabe Afridi'. Sometimes when he is successful he is easily able to cross the boundary but what I noticed after he played with both bats was the ball went a bit further than Bubber Sher compare to Sher Amin. I asked him several times that did you ever knock these bats he simply said no. Also you don't have to knock bats which have around 11-14 grains because they are preknocked. If you have a bat with 4 or 8 grains 9like CA 2020) you will have to knock that. I became interested in these two bats (Sher Amin and Bubber Sher) after looking at his bats
1 - CA 10000 or CA 120000 or SHER BUBBER – or indeed any thing else better?
Uhmm...let me tell you prices of these bats first CA 10K+ Rs. 11000, CA 12K+ Rs. 15000 and Bubber Sher Rs. 12500. I personally am confused which bat should I buy CA 12K+ or Bubber Sher (as I am planning to buy one of these bats). I usually think it this way CA 10k+ (Used by Inzi), CA 12K+ (Used by Misbah) and Bubber Sher (Formerly used by Afridi, Malik and presently used by Shazaib Hasan). So sorry couldn't really help you there
2 – I do not want it to start decaying/splitting in one or two year.
I am not sure how many grains are present in CA 10K+ and CA 12K+ but Sher Amin has more grains than CA 2020 and less grains than Bubber Sher. The concluded season was the first time I joined a club so I am not quite sure after how long the bat starts to split. But one of my club member who played with me knew alot about bats. I used to ask him question and once I asked him a question that after how long these (alot of grains bats) start to split up he said perhaps after one season. I also have Gray Nicolls Powerbow bat which has 4 or 5 grains (I think 4) so whenever he saw that bat he always told me that this bat will last really long
3 – I bat at number 6 at the moment, either slog with few overs left, or mostly batting collapse and lots of overs and keep one end going with shots at right deliveries and rotating strikes
Since you bat at number 6 and have to slog then Sher Amin or Bubber Sher would be fine. I am not sure about CA 10K+ or CA 12K+. No one in my club has CA 10K+ or CA 12K+ so I am not quite sure about them. But I remember once we had a game against a team (which was consisted of Pakistani and there kits were from Pakistan as well) so I had a look at once of there batsman bat which was CA 10K+ and I must say the bat was AMAZING , the weight was fine, balance was perfect, cureve was perfect etc everything was perfect. So I sometimes imagine that if CA 10K+ is that good then imagine how good CA 12K+ would be :13: (since CA 12K+ is a better version of CA 10K+).
4 – I know it may be bizzare but there is a distant possibility that I be push on to open the innings (I have done for friendlies and for weaker Saturday elevens) because of relatively better defensive skills so I need the keep that in mind.
You can play defensive or offensive with either four bats CA 10K+ or CA 12K+ or Sher Amin or Bubber Sher
5 – I do want it to stay hit if I go mad max with it – so more grain perhaps? 8/10/12/14? But do not want it to split in a year or two so not sure about sher bubber as colleagues have said it might break in 1 year or 2?
Since few PPers said Bubber Sher might break in a year or two then Sher amin would last longer compare to Bubber Sher. Again not sure how many grains CA 10K+ and/or CA 12K+ has so can't say anything about these two
6 – so medium or medium to heavy weight, with goooooooood sweet spot and good power with relatively better (3/4/5) year longitivity?
Perhaps Sher Amin, it has very good sweet spot, much stronger and bigger sweet spot compare to CA 2020. Again not sure how many grains CA 10K+ and/or CA 12K+ has so can't say anything about these two
7 – I do not mind paying the right price, as long as I am being ripped off and paying the normal Pak rate (not overseas or web prices etc)
Few bats prices I foudn out today after calling UT Sports (In pakistani Rupees and Canadian Dollars):
CA 12000+: Rs. 15000 and $191.26
CA 10000+: Rs. 11000 and $140.22
MB Malik Bubber Sher: Rs. 12500 and $159.34
MB Malik Sher Amin: Rs. 7500 and $95.6
Ihsan Inferno 950: Rs. 12500 and $159.34
AS V200 (or just 200): Rs. 9000 and $114.62
Since I am in Canada. I am not sure if these are Pakistani buyer prices or oversea buyer prices. The reason why I am saying this is becaus ethey probably saw my number which came on there phone ID caller and off course they can recgonize whether it is local or international call. Another reason why I am saying this is because as I earlier mentioned one of my club member who has Bubber Sher, he got his Bubber Sher during our season (in Summer0 and I asked him a few days ago (liek 4 days ago) that how much did you pay for your Bubber Sher (without shipping, he got it shipped form Pakistan his friend bought the bat for him and shipped it to him in Canada), he told me that only bat costed him $120 Canadian. So by now you probably got my point....
8 – How do I make sure absolutely that it is the ‘genuine’ article? and best bat according to above?
Uhmm :20:...guess someone else should give a shot at this
What do the batting experts or bat experts suggest?

You have to be the most knowledgeable/helpful person when it comes to bats. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
I totally agree with the pricing as well - UT sports is obviously going to give you a higher price point if they know you are calling from overseas. I am going to Karachi inshallah in January and have plans to actually strike a deal with a supplier to import bats and other cricketing equipment to Canada.
I know one guy who currently sells UT sports bats in Toronto and I must say the bats are pretty good.

I wanna get a bubber sher and have been looking around but i have found different ones and i don't know which is fake. I've seen the lion with the gold border and 13 grains and i've seen a yellow bordered lion but it has 'ready to play' written on it. I would assume that the real one is the one like Afridi's (yellow bordered lion on front and back without 'ready to play' written on it, also, plain edges). Can someone clear this up for me please? I want one from UT sports since they are the cheapest. Would anyone with a bubber sher from UT sports be so kind as to upload a photo?

To answer your first questions, Rs 12,500 equates to $160 Cdn. Keep in mind that this doesn't include any potential negotiations....I am sure after negotiations, you can bring the price down to $140.
Second suggestion is a great one...although the suggestion is made for Cover Drive, I am actually going to be doing that. I will be getting bats shipped and then selling them for a relatively better price compared to what people pay in Toronto.
Based on what I have read in this post, one can not go wrong with either of the 3 bats that you have mentioned i.e. CA12K, Bubber Sher and Sher Amin. CD already mentioned that Bubber Sher is a newer version of Sher Amin and CA12K is a newer CA10k. The reason why they are priced higher is because they are being used by some international players currently. If you want good value for your money, go with CA10k or Sher Amin as you get 90% of the same performance but for a lot lower price.

Uhmmm...I am not sure about CA 12K+. I remember around a month or two ago one guy listed CA 12K+ on our local classifieds website (his ad is no longer available on that website). I remember what he said about the bat in his was that the bat has 12 straight grains (it was original CA bat, not fake).
2 - Second choice is Irfan Inferno or Sher Amin?
I am not sure what do you mean by Ihsan Inferno. There are different levels of Ihsan Inferno bats (such as Ihsan Inferno 250, 350, 550, 750 and 950). I am assuming that you are talking about Ihsan Inferno 950 since I listed price of that bat. If one is looking at price of Ihsan Inferno 950 and Sher Amin he would clearly assuming that Ihsan Inferno is better than Sher Amin. the reason why I said this is because of the price difference. Since the price of Ihsan Inferno 950 is same as Bubber Sher one will categorize Ihsan Inferno 950 and Bubber Sher together not Ihsan Inferno 950 and Sher Amin. I personally think that Ihsan Inferno 950 is better bat than Sher Amin. But I could be wrong. By the way, I found a thread which I think will be helpful for you (the link it pasted below and the title of thread says 'What is Ihsan inferno 950 like?')

3 - Any one in Pak or Khi can confirm their price locally?
4 - CD - sorry being lazt whats $120 canadian as taht what you said ur friend bought Sher Bubber for in Khi???? compared to Rs 12,500 u got from UT?
What I was trying to say in that specific part was the difference in price. When I called UT Sports yesterday they told me that Bubber Sher costs Rs.12500 which is approximately $160 Canadian Dollars. Once I converted the price in Canadian Dollar from Pakistani Rupees I had a flashback. One of my club member (Saiyed Bhai) got Bubber Sher shipped from his friend who lives in Karachi who bought the bat from UT Sports. So when the bat came to Saiyed Bhai I asked him that how much was the bat, he Saiyed Bhai said, "$120" (Canadian Dollars). Now when I called UT Sports yesterday I called them from my home phone, so the person recieving my call in Karachi (UT Sports) might had a look at ID caller display and realized that the number appearing on his phone ID caller is not a local number, it is a foreign number. After looking at foreign number he might have told me a higher price. So basically what I was trying to saying in that post was that Saiyed Bhai friend got him Bubber Sher for $120 Canadian Dollars (CAD) whereas the price I was told on the phone yesterday was $160 CAD.
5 - CD - u can become freelance discount agent for bats mate and get commission for procuring the best original bats at competitive price for PPers!

As I mentioned earlier that one guy listed CA 12000 Plus cricket bat on local classifieds and he said it has 12 striaght grains. Bubber Sher has around 14 grains. Sher Amin has around 10 to 12 grains (not quite sure how many grains are exactly present in the bat..sorry).

Actually I got a bat as a gift (CA 20/20) which was brought from UT Sports. Do you want to have a look at CA 20/20 pictures? When you go Karachi my honest advice to you will be that go to UT Sports first and see if they have the bat. If not then you may try other stores as well. But I am pretty sure they will have Bubber Sher in stock. The Bubber Sher which my friend from my club had was brought from UT Sports. I don't have a picture of it but if I see my friend this month I will take few pictures of his bat. Btw when are you going to Karachi? There are fake Bubber Sher's which are exactly same as original Bubber Sher in terms of appearence of painting. What I have heard from people is that they have told me that fake Bubber Sher is the one with sticker whereas original Bubber Sher is of painting. Now I am not sure which painting is original (yellow, gold or dark brown). However, I don't think that it is true that original Bubber Sher are only in painting.

Once the bat is properly knocked in the ball races away if you time it.

As far as the grains are concerned. The bat has 11 grains.

Sultanator look at post number 126 on page 2. Look at first picture of Bubber Sher face (close-up). After looking at that picture you can easily say it is fake becauase Bubber Sher doesn't have 6 grains, it has around 13-14 grains. Also Sultanator, when you see a Bubber Sher make sure it has a small (circle) brown colour sticker on cane saying SH (Short Handle) or LH (Long Handle) etc. Sorry for delaying in answering your question
As you said you need to see my CA 2020 pictures, I will post them today InshALLAH

I sent an e-mail to MB Malik and in their reply they said;
"You also asked about the stickers all our sponsored players are given sets of stickers some cut the Ready to play and the less fussy leave it on there. Like for example when Shoaib Malik was with Mb He did not like to put stickers on the bottom of his bat. (He is still using Malik bats with Woodworm stickers) Anyhow yes we did produce some bats that had the log embossed on the wood but now most have the sticker. We have both in our store."
And something MB Malik is working on;
"Next year we are also launching a new glove with the latest pittard leather on the palm so look out for this also !!!"

No problem. Well the bat is not one of expensive bat indeed it is a cheap bat (somewhere around Rs.3000) but in terms of money the bat is good. InshALLAH my next target for bat is CA 12000+ as I have pads and gloves for it so I want to complete the set. I have Gray Nicolls set, InshALLAH I will have CA 12000+ set as well. Do you have any kit yet? Also what bats do you have?

My dad won't let me join a club until i'm 18, so i don't have a kit, but at school, if the weather's fine we have 2 hours of fitness, my friends and I go play cricket for the whole 2 hours in what we call school T10 cup. On weekends there is a place nearby where you can use nets for free, we go there for a couple of hours. My first bat was a plain grade 5 willow for tape ball in my garden. Then i bought a cheap slazenger made from some sort of Kashmir Willow. I was young and didn't know you had to oil and knock in so the edges broke off. The same happened to an MRF my dad later got from Pakistan, it was only Rs. 2000 and fake so he didn't mind. Then another cheap Slazenger made from Kashmir Willow that was already 'fully knocked in', turns out it wasn't and it's cracked and has seam marks, still got it. I decided to get a Bubber because naturally i have the tendency to take precious care with expensive items.

Ohh okay. Do you guys (I mean you and your friends) play with tape ball or hard ball? When you buy bats from Pakistan and the stickers or the seller says it is 'fully knocked in' or 'oiled' it is most likely that it not knocked in. I am not saying all sellers are like that but some turn out to be nice with you. It is not just in Pakistan in fact it is all over the world not just in Pakistan people want to sell there product so in order to sell that they have to lie. But there are some people who are really honest and fear ALLAH (SWT) who would tell you straight away that it is not knocked in nor it is oiled. But the good thing with was that it was a cheap bat if you had paid a higher price for a bat and it said same thing as cheaper bat then you regret later on that you paid so much and most likely you will not get another bat soon because parents won't let you spend so much on a bat which will break eventually. But if a bat is handled with proper care then it will last much longer. I remember few years back during my summer break (I was in Pakistan) I went to a store to buy a tennis ball to play with my cousin in my grandparents lawn (garden) so when I went to buy tennis ball I saw Gray Nicolls bat. My favourite batsman used Gray Nicolls at that time so I was desperate to get that bat. The seller told me it is original bat, very good bat etc. Plus that bat was in a glass cabinet so I thought 'man this bat is real' because I was young at that time and had zero knowledge of bats. So somehow I bought the bat, I was over the moon, so exicted that I when I slept at night I kept the bat beside me. The bat was wrapped in plastic and I didn't even take plastic off because if I peeled the plastic then the bat might get dirty so I never bothered to peel the plastic off (later on I peeled it off). Ohh I paid Rs.3500 for that bat. After two or three days I went to that store again for some odd reason (can't quite remember) then I met same seller he told me that let me know if you want to get it oiled. I had no clue what oiling is. He further told me that it you bat will last longer, better stroke etc. I asked him how much will that cost he said it will cost Rs.500 or Rs.550, I said 'Okay' let me ask my parents. Then we didn't have enough time left because we had to leave for Canada so I never got it oiled. I kept the bat in safe place when I came to Canada, never played with but as the time went by I found out that the bat is fake. So it was till this summer when I joined cricket club for the first time in my life. I first went for club trails I never had my own kit so borrowed someones pads, someone else helmet, gloves etc. Then I told my family I want a kit. Then I called my Khalu in Pakistan to send me a kit. The kit he sent me came but I never got impressed with it as my eyes were fixed on Gray Nicolls kit so what I did was I sold the kit I got from Pakistan (in profit if you convert it to Pakistani Rupees). So then finally I brought original Gray Nicollls kit. This time I was much more excited about the kit. So as time went on I got idea of bats, kits etc. That now I am aware what to look in bats and how to figure out whether it is fake or original and I still regret that I have spent soo much money in past on cricket bats but all of them were fake. So I just wanted to tell you one of my story about cricket bats. My advise will be that be very careful because you are foreigner and when you will be walking in a store you will easily be regconized as a foriegner (by foreigner I mean oversea Pakistani) that the seller will hustle you, he will charge you much more than normal and more importantly he will give you a fake product at higher price than a normal original product price. Because the people who sell fake stuff are so expert that there product look exactly same as original. And yeahh never ever buy anything from Ebay especially if the seller is from India. These sellers from India the sell all fake stuff, nothing it original even there country local bat are not original. Thats why I told you in my earlier posts that there are several different styles of Bubber Sher's so be careful. Since you are younger than me (I am assuming since you said you will get a kit when you turn 18) and your budget is usually restricted I would advise you to buy Sher Amin rather than Bubber Sher. I am not forcing you to buy Sher Amin rather than Bubber Sher, I am just saying this because these two bats are 90% same (as one of the poster was explaining to another poster, his name is xkalibur80 Bhai). It is just that one is newer model compare to the older one. I hope you understood what it the logic behind this. But the final decision is upto you not me. It is you who will be getting the bat not me so don't think that you have to buy Sher Amin just because I told you. In fact I was advising you what to do because these are ways of making money by the companies. Thats why you will see there is a price difference of Rs.5000 in Sher Amin's price and Bubber Sher price.
I hope it helps!
If you have any question please don't hesitate asking me.

I have seen Bubber Sher's which are used way less than yours and there paint seems to be coming off. I just wanted to ask you that what does it says at the back of the bat? I mean above the part where it says MB does it say 'W' or 'M' but in horizontal way? Also do you mind telling us where did you buy it from?

It says M
and I got this bat from Lahore, Ichra market, Shahid Sports.
Also If you want to buy a bubber sher, i would like you to consider buying the one with 8 grains as it will have long life but will require some knocking.
My bat when new had 8 clean ruler straight grains(this is the indication of grade 1 English bat.....ruler straight grains and no blemishes on bat) and I used the bat without knocking it much, it was good in start of the season but as I played more and more with it it got better and better, and now the ball flies off it.
I have timed a couple of sixes with no more then just a push over the bowlers head....

Karachi peoples are aware of UT Sports but Lahore people such as me are not aware of any sports shop which sells authentic stuff. But I hope you stay around and stay in touch with this thread....loll
I thought that Bubber Sher with few grains (such as 8-10) is fake whereas Bubber Sher only has 14 grains or somewhere near that. Btw why does you Bubber Sher have letter "M" on its backside? Usually Bubber Sher tends to be plain from that specific area. I am aware of the fact that fewer grains in a bat requires knocking but anyways thanks. It seems you have alot of knowledge about bats...MashALLAH

There are two stores that I`m aware of in Lahore that sell these bats, one of them is Shahid Sports but they dont have them on display, the guy goes to the factory and brings back with him on your request three or four bubber shers and you pick the one you like (042-7589376, 03004988298) and the other one is Zaidi Sports (042-7414100, 042-74151510 and they have all the bats on display and this shop is located around chaburji. I would recommend Shahid Sports as I bought it from there.
I would also like to clear up a lot of rumors about fake bubber shers and different colour of paints. To make sure you are not getting a fake bubber sher, look at the wood colour.....it should be reddish as these bats are made out of red wood and the wood has a completely different colour to all of the other bats out there. Grains it comes from 6 grains to all the way up to 16-18 grains, this depends on the trees age....every year adds another grain so more the grain the older the tree and faster the bat cracks.
Why does it have an M there?
well most of the MB bubber shers you will see will be a little different in artifacts, there are I think 4 different looking bubber shers that are out there but its only the paint...they are all made from red wood.

there is one guyin our league that uses CA 12k as its way too expensive, our supplier in ottawa was selling it for $300 so i got to check it out.

Ohh you already had Sher Amin..my bad then. But Sultanator if you buy a bat from reputable store or reputable person then most likely there are high chances of bat being oiled because it is not the seller who does oiling indeed it is factory who does it. For example when I bought my Gray Nicolls bat I did not oil it because it was already oiled by Gray Nicolls factory. Same thing with UT Sports bat, my CA 2020 was already oiled, I did not had to oil it. In fact, you can always find out whether it is oiled or not by looking at the wood colour and looking at it whether it is moisturized or not. Actually it is everyones obsession of buying latest available product in the market. Even I have this obsession but it is more with electronic right now for me since my cricket products are latest model. It is always good to take someone who knows more than you about specific item or product. Now you should worry that original Bubber Sher only has 14 or above grains (even me I never knew it either until Usman Bhai told us). Did you see the small sticker on top of the cane? That was the sticker I was talking about earlier

Few bats prices I foudn out today after calling UT Sports (In pakistani Rupees and Canadian Dollars):
CA 12000+: Rs. 15000 and $191.26
CA 10000+: Rs. 11000 and $140.22

CA 12K is a bit thicker then bubber sher, the amount of thickness at the sweet spot is the same but sweet spot is longer on Ca 12K, im not sure about performance...i haven't used it yet.
Yeah I knocked it for few days, knocked the edges in and also knocked the bottom of the bat too, it was already oiled and knocked in but i knocked it further in just as a safety measure.
Apart from the bat you have mentioned up there, AS V3 bat is a beast! I'm gonna be buying that bat before the next season starts since me and my brother have been sharing the bubber sher. AS V3 is a beauty and is on par with buber sher and ca 1000K and is cheaper too....around $132 canadian and 152 with shipping, and thats from the manufacturers official website.

this bat comes in blue and red.

oh and dont worry about grains, every bat has different amount of grains on it, as long as there are 6 or more grains it is real and most pakistani bats come oiled so if they are not oiled it might be that they are not original

Where did you get that price quote? As websithe? There is one guy on PP who knows people at AS so he can probably get you a discount (It might not be alot since you are getting the bat shipped to you something is better than nothing). Even aprat from discount the price to get the bat shipped to Canada all the way from Pakistan is not bad.
One of club member got his Bubber Sher shipped from Pakistan (he also has Sher Amin) so I played with his bats both of the bats are amazing so I myself wanted to get Bubber Sher (not Sher Amin). I would say the sweet of these two bats is huge compare to my Gray Nicolls bat. But as you said CA 12K has even bigger sweet spot than Bubber Sher. Now I am really desperate to get CA 12K. But what I fear about CA 12K is that for instance if it has 12 grains then the bat will break soon perhaps in a year and a half.
As far oiling is concerned you are correct, I got CA 2020 as a gift from one of my club member and it has around 8 grains. Even with 8 grains this bat is oiled.
I remember I had zero knowledge of bats before joining a cricket club but as time went by I learned few important things about bats. Would you like pass on your knowledge on us about bats? It seems you have alot of knowledge of cricket bats. I mean what would you look in a bat before buying, proper care of bat etc. I know about most of the topics but it is always good to learn more. Do you have any other bat(s) except Bubber Sher? Also what company kits (I mean pads, gloves do you have)?

When buying a bat, you should look at the way you bat...if your bottom hand is more dominant then your top hand then you should look to buy a bat that has low sweet spot(ihsaan inferno 950), if you are an opener then CA 10K or 12K, if middle order bat bubber sher. Initial stages you should look to use your bat in nets and play with straight bat....slogging might crack your bat so i suggest you get used to with your new bat before going ballistic. Offcourse dont let any liquid on it, oil it before every season, double grip it....
if you get ca 12k with lots of grains, you will have to take more care of it, once you see the grains opening up and start looking like a crack oil it, if taken care properly even the bats with lots of grains can last long.
oh i didnt put much emphasis on my equipment, I use clubs equipment apart from thigh guard, and offcourse guard :p
but it is a good idea to get proper cricket shoes so you dont slip around in your crease.

Thanks Usman Bhai I really appreciate it. So by oiling it at the time when cracks are visible then by doing that so, the cracks are not further devloped? Is that the purpose of oiling when cracks appears?

Cracks start to appear once the wood gets dry and needs to be re-oiled. If the grains start to open up, it means the wood needs to be re-oiled to prevent further damage.
Preferably just oil your bat before the start of every season.

Why aren't you able to post the picturess? Make sure the size of file is below 488 and when you go to advance mode text box then click 'manage attachment' and then upload a picture and you think only one picture can be posted at a time then click submit. Hope it helps
